Nella had never been in so much pain. She fell from the werewolf’s back and landed with a thud on the dirt floor. She felt like her skin encased an inferno and she poured with sweat. Her fingers and toes curled, her eyes burned and her lungs and heart were working overtime. Her chest heaved up and down as she trembled and her heartbeat so fast she was scared it would give out at any second from exhaustion. Her vision was blurred and her skull felt too small. The pressure building there felt like her brain would start pouring out of her ears at any moment. A moment earlier she was freaking out about riding on the back of a massive werewolf, and the next, she was being torn apart from the inside out. Coherent thought left the building when her jaw unhinged with a sickening crack at either side. the left, then the right. The ends of her manicured fingers split, thickened, and pulled in towards her palm. Her nails became darker and longer as her hands became paws.
Nella couldn’t keep stock of what was happening to her body. She was in too much pain. Her soul screamed to be released from this hell and she thrashed against the agony of her transformation.
Emma whined and moved to stand over her the pup. Did…I look like that the first time? Yes. But we can make this easier for her. Give yourself over to our unity, and we can draw her wolf closer and ease this for her. Sure, do it! Emma whined, restless as she nosed Nella’s cheek to let her know she wasn’t alone. The whole unity thing was still new to her, but it wasn’t really different from what happens during a full moon or when they go feral anyway. This would just be jumping the gun, surely? Nella cried and blood trickled from every orifice. She’s fighting it. She and her wolf suffer. Hurry!
Emma jerked and her eyes turned white as she was drawn into her own mind. She was used to communing with Fido now and didn’t hesitate when she came to in her own mind in her mortal form. She pushed up to her feet and ran her naked ass off towards the darkness. The redhead ran towards the cold void and the auburn wolf galloping towards her.
“Help her!” She called out desperately. It was hard to explain, but she could feel that Nella was in agony, even here.
“We will!” The first Luna barked, her yellow and black eyes glowing…and her fur…darker than usual…and larger…“Come to me!” Fido commanded. Emma Carter collided headfirst into her wolf's furry chest and yelped as their astral forms merged into one. “We are one! We have ascended into Unity.”
White eyes rolled forward Nella was laid beneath a terrifying beast. She lolled into semi-consciousness in time to A, wish the pain would just knock her out already, and B, to scream in horror at the thing standing over her. It had dark red fur, almost black, with black and gold eyes staring down at her. Emma’s auburn wolf had been the size of a horse. This thing was even bigger and barely fit between the trees on either side of it. The dark wolf had its ears and tail raised and looked down its long snout to look at the trembling mess between their front paws.
“A-ah-ek-a.” Nella’s voice was broken and crackled with blood and spit. Fresh waves of pain rocked through her for the attempt to speak.
“Hush young one. Your Luna is here.” Nella was not reassured when the beast moved its jaws and the feminine voice of hell rumbled through sharp teeth hovering over her face. If the monster thought it was going to reassure her by licking her face? She was wrong. Nella screamed and jerked her misshapen body against being tasted by the creature. “Surrender to my influence and breath it in.”
Nella could barely breathe and wasn’t sure she would for much longer, when the sensation of something slithering forcefully down her nose and throat assailed her. Buttercups, honey, and the ashy smell of a bonfire forcefully inflated her quivering chest. The sound of wet snapping and tearing echoed around her, and it took a moment for Nella to realise the sound was coming from her body. “By the Nexus and the moon we are all connected to, you will come into your pelt, and your wolf will emerge from their prison. Come forth. Come to your Luna.”
The pain was numbing and Nella realised that this wolf was doing this to her. Taking the pain away. She was desperate not to experience the fire in her blood return, so she did her best to suck more air into her tiny body. Even as her body jerked and hair sprouted over her misshapen form, she focused on breathing in the sweet fiery scent. She whimpered with a healthy dose of fear when the monster sank its teeth into her clothes and started ripping them off her body. “We will help you young one. This day, and every day. You are both pack now. You are safe with your Luna.”
Nella wondered if the pack had more than one Luna, and stopped caring that her body was being exposed. Her long brown hair was strewn around her sweaty face, her clothing was scattered in shreds around the forest floor, and she laid bare beneath the mighty creature that owned her. She did. Something deep inside Nella knew this was true and didn’t question it. She didn’t resist. She relaxed into the pain, accepting it, and rolled onto her side…changed.
Her glowing blue eyes looked down to see two brown paws. They were connected to two fur-covered forelegs and a fuzzy chest. Nella slowly turned her neck and caught sight of a bushy tail at the other end of her petite body. I’m…a wolf…and the pain is gone. Her paws felt at the forest floor and she felt her ears perk up at the sound of the creature moving over her. Nella ducked her head down to avoid the wall of dark furry muscle as the wolf stalked forward. “Come. We promised to take you to your father. I am sure he is eager to yip and fuss over his little pup.”
Nella didn’t especially want to move anywhere. She was still basking in not being in eye-splitting pain anymore and didn’t especially want to follow the strange werewolf. She gave Nella the creeps, yet with one deep bark from the massive wolf, Nella found herself wobbling up to four paws to come to heel. She was unsteady as she learned how to walk on four legs and kept as far back from the dark Luna as she could. At least, as far back as she was allowed, before the beast would turn and growl at her to keep up.
Just before leaving the dense forest they had retreated to, Nella watched as the massive dark wolf rolled her neck and howled. Her form became lighter, auburn, a tad smaller, and her whole presence changed. Holy fuck that was Emma?!! Nella whined and her ears and tail dropped in a panic. So they don’t just transform into werewolves, but can shift into super scary ones too?! I-I don’t want to do that. Does Frankie do that too?
In her panic, Nella started to back away from Emma and her backside and curved tail bumped into a tree, making her yelp in surprise. Emma swung her head round and bound over to check on her newest pup. She didn’t speak in that creepy voice, and she no longer smelt of ash or fire, but the buttercup and honey scent sept into her every pore. Nella relaxed enough for Emma to approach and nudge her head to the right. Emma licked at her ear and coaxed the younger wolf to follow her out into the clearing.
Oh hell no! Nella dropped down to the floor, on her belly and her ears and tail lowered. The field was full of werewolves. Brown, silver, grey, blonde, red, tall, wide, scarred, shaggy and soft fur of every shape and size. Instinctively Nella knew most of the pack weren’t here, but there were still plenty of wolves to tear her apart.
Emma walked ahead with her head raised high, her ears and tail raised with confidence as she headed towards her pack mates. She lowered to sit on her hunches and barked with authority. Nella watched, fascinated, as the other wolves took this as permission to approach her. They always had their heads lowered and the left of their necks offered to Emma in submission. The scene was so distracting that Nella lifted her head to get a better view. She watched as werewolves that looked like puppies, the size of Irish wolf hounds but fluffier than the much larger adults, were escorted to Emma. They barked with excitement and Emma sniffed and licked each pup on the head as they gathered around her. One particular little wolf with blonde fur placed himself between Emma’s front paws, on his back, tail wagging with excitement, and yipped for the Luna’s attention. Emma playfully placed her right paw over his raised paws and rocked him back and forth.
Nella started to relax. The adult werewolves all ran off into the forest after dropping off their pups with the Luna. Only one remained, and slowly he approached Nella. Her hackles raised with alarm when it became he was making a slow beeline for her, and she lowered even more to the floor. Nella whimpered and shuffled back from the massive wolf, only to stop when the smell of almonds reached her.
Big brown wolf with scaring breaking up his fur. Blue eyes. The smell of almonds. That’s my Dad. Slowly Nella lifted her head and her ears lifted to halfway as she regarded him. The moon reached its highest peak in the night sky and shone down on the Glen Valley pack. Nella started to feel strange. It wasn’t unpleasant, though, compared to the fresh memory of her transformation. It was a gentle numbing of her mind. Her consciousness started to slip right around the time where Frankie walked right up to her and pressed his nose to the side of her jaw to give her a quick lick. …Daddy…Nella’s tail started to wag and Frankie’s mirrored hers at her acceptance. The Beta wolf groomed her ears and did his best to replace Emma’s scent that clung to his pup with his own.
Nella blacked out and her wolf fully took the reins. Frankie barked and encouraged his pup to follow him. She came to heel like a happy puppy which made Frankie’s chest swell and his ears and tail lift. He only lowered his head as a sign of respect as they passed Emma and the other young pups, wary the Luna would take Nella from him, until they left the clearing and entered the forest.
Together. Father and daughter. The proud wolf would start by taking her somewhere within the approved territory where the rest of the pack wasn’t hunting. Then he would teach her how to track and hunt with her. She wouldn’t catch anything on her own tonight, but he would share his kill with her. Nella. The pup he had always wanted. His precious little wolf.
Yes…little…Nella was the right height for her age, but she was very petite. Too petite. Scrawny and with hardly any detectable scent. So delicate and vulnerable… Frankie felt an anxiously protective mantle form around him. He became aggressive if any of their pack mates tried to approach them and kept Nella away from the other wolves. He even got into a scrap with a curious young Alpha. Thankfully Nella’s scent was too weak and the Alpha wasn’t interested enough to seriously rise to the challenge…this time…
