"I mean that's pretty much it... Wait, no shoes." she muttered, looking down at her bare feet and took a pair lying around at the back of her closest, a little dirty but they still had a little shine to them
She called over a car to come pick her up, not bothering to get her own car and drive and headed downstairs
"Hey Mr. Bojing, you going out tonight?" she asked a little surprised as she got out of the elevator, looking at her landlord putting on a fancy coat and getting out his keys
"Oh yes! I have a date with Stephan tonight, our 3rd year anniversary actually!" he replied, his eyes glowing at even the mention of his partner as he pulled up the zipper to his leather jacket
"Oh that's amazing! Well, tell him I said hi, and I hope it goes well!" she encouraged, giving him a smile as she put her purse chain around her
"Will do! And you be safe on your date too!" he finished, waving a shocked Ash goodbye
"I-it's not a da-" she stammered out, trying to change his mind as he opened the door to the outside, he probably didn't hear her.
"Well fuck. I mean it's not a date. She just wants to show me something." she muttered impatiently without hesitation as she rolled her eyes at her landlord who'd already gone anyway. "I mean with him gone I could always use some money..." she laughed before opening the outside door, waiting for the lift to come pick her up.
The starry night held no clouds to cover up the mystery of it's twilight, and no wind to make sure no one noticed it. Like a lyrical note on all sides of music, the clear sky gave way to the purest desires, ones of sin, passion, and so much more.
"Hi!" she chirped as she entered her lift, wasn't too cramped and the driver looked rather friendly "To the Amazon Devil's please."
"Hey, will do." replied the driver in the front, a deep voice that sent an echo down her ears. Well, maybe not that deep. But it was a deep voice nonetheless. Adding on with a thick beard, his pale white skin, and a few tattoos running across his face, the man could've been a viking warrior himself.
Well, doubly so, most viking warriors didn't necessarily drive cars and give people rides to nightclubs at this time of the night.
Although, she could be wrong. Times had changed, everyone needed to make some sort of living
Eager to be polite, she tried to start up a conversation, she needed something to occupy her mind from whatever was gonna happen "So uh... You having a busy night?" she asked, readjusting herself in her seat
"Sunday nights I usually don't have much trouble, usually just people needing a ride home." the man replied, looming back in the mirror disinterestedly "Although I don't think you're going home. What are you doing at the Amazon Devil's?" he asked, not meaning to pry in to closely to the young girl sitting in the back of his car
"Uh..." she stuttered, trying to find an awnser both herself and the man in front of him. Well, she was gonna see something Scarlett wanted to show her. Nothing too complicated. "Oh a... An acquaintance of mine wanted to show me something."
"Oh? At a Sunday night? Sounds like it's more then just an acquaintance." the man suggested nonchalantly, not giving the issue much thought, acquaintances didn't usually ask people to show them something at a Sunday night at a night club. Well, serial killers occasionally did, but the girl seemed smart, she didn't seem like the type to befriend any guys or gals that would murder them brutally.
Although, they tended to be the ones you'd less expect.
Ash's ears practically rang up at the thought of being more than an acquaintance "Well, in all fairness it's a bit more complicated." she muttered, not exactly eager to delve into the issue, frankly it wasn't at all anything she wanted talk about.
In fact, it was something she'd been avoiding. She was never a huge fan of talking about Scarlett, well, at least not after what happened between them. And that night where she heard that damned piano play once again, and then dancing, it was...
Well it was something alright.
"Uh wanna talk about it?" the man asked a little awkwardly, looking at her face in the mirror as if her head were up in the clouds
"Hm?" she asked, a little startled as she let out a little smile, bringing herself back down to earth "Sorry about that..." she said sheepishly, letting out a nervous smile
"Don't worry, it's fine. We all have those questions of ours." the man sighed, looking at the road in lament as they drove off to the club
The streets were a concrete jungle, horns buzzing, lights flashing, a mess of all that was pure. Although the road had a strange little beauty to it, like a smudged canvass, the colors painted by engines that insisted on smudging everything together.
Perhaps not the most artistic form of beauty, but it was a strange type of dazzling art.
What followed after was a few moments of silence, nothing needed to be said, if anything at that moment, words were useless.
The silence broke soon after "Anyway, you're here Miss..." he said, hesitating on the name as he paused to a stop, leaving her right in front of the night club. It didn't even look open yet.
"Corbin, but you can call me Ash mister..." she paused trying to think of the driver's name as she got out her purse, searching it for something to pay the viking driver, a few coins or a bill would do the trick
"I go by many names, but I'm just your friendly neighborhood car driver." he teased, showing off a grin that could rival Sofi's and took the money from her hand
"Well, Mr. Friendly neighborhood car driver man, have a good evening. Hope it goes well out there." she smiled and they waved each other goodbye
She got out the car, stretching her legs as she looked outside the club.
"This is probably a bad idea. I shouldn't be doing this." she muttered, feeling the cold brush against her face as she put her hands against her coat. "It's... Why am I even here?" she thought to herself, staring emotionlessly at the door in front of her
She grabbed the handle, and without any hesitation, she went inside.
The lights were all up, uncovering the cool black counter of the bar a stone made or darkness and ashes, along with the mahogany dark wood, a single creak came from it as Ash stepped onto the nightclub.
If anything else, it was beautiful. It was a place of worship, praising all that was unholy and sin. The softest touch could drive the sanest of people into chaos, so why bother ever resisting it?
In this place, they gave into into their desires. Not bothering to ever look back.
And right in the middle was the piano, a beautiful sleak black piece, gold around the edges. And just as Ash expected, a person on instrument's chair, playing like one of the nine muses herself, sounds so beautiful, even a deaf man would cry.
"Never leave
But I sure as hell did.
I'll find you for even the cursed may find their demons
And you'll come to me, not as an angel,
But the Devil herself.
Rip me apart and take my soul,
A bigger tragedy, would be to live without you.
Like the perfect stars on the twilight,
I'm not quite sure what I'd do with you. "
Ash hung onto every word, listening to the music echoing in her ears, a voice so sweet it could break a stone heart.
No. Her voice was terrible, it was Scarlett's after all.
"Not too bad for someone who doesn't know to sing." she smirked, clapping her hands slowly as she walked to the railing that faced the piano from above
"I could say the same about you glass-fingers." she mocked back, putting her hands away from the piano as she looked towards her detested one from below.
They shared a moment of silence, plenty to say, they just didn't know how. "You came." Scarlett said after a while, breaking their shared silence
"Yeah I did. I probably shouldn't have, I don't wanna be seen with someone like you." she muttered back.
Scarlett let out a laugh "I'm sure you don't. After all who wants to hang out with a cold hearted bitch? Oh wait... That's you, isn't it?" she jeered, gesturing to come down from the railing
"Speak for yourself Scarlett, in the kindest soul there is." she snapped back, hesitantly walking down the stairs and towards the piano "Unlike a certain someone around here..." she added silently
"If kindness was a competition, you'd be second to last so don't go around spreading lies you fuck." Scarlett replied with a second's worth of hesitation
"Oh wow. Second grade burns, I'm hurt." Ash teased rolling her eyes "Why'd you call me here Scarlett?" she asked, wondering if either of them actually knew the awnsers to that specific little question
The pianist waited a moment before replying, taking a drink from thr cup to her right, an orange, fiery substance. Just like her bright auburn hair, glowing even when all the lights were turned on. Her emerald eyes still holding that piercing gaze, one that could both love and kill.
"Sit down over here." she asked, scooching herself from the piano chair to give Ash some sort of space to fit in, gesturing her to come sit down
"Fuck no. I'm probably not even gonna fit." she said, a somewhat confused look on her face as Scarlett motioned her forward
"You'll be fine, you got enough space anyway. I'm big, not that big" she snapped back, still beckoning her to come closer, showing off all the empty space with a smirk on her face
"For fucks sakes..." she sighed, admitting defeat as she lowered herself onto the piano cheer, feeling Scarlett's body against hers.
"See? Was that so bad?" the victorious pianist teased as she saw Ash right next to her, putting a bottle of whiskey in front of her face "Want some? First drink is on the house."
Ash's face showed one of visible disgust as she was offered the drink "Not at all. I sure as hell don't know what you put into that."
Scarlett replied with a little pout, doing her worst to act disappointed "Oh nothing at all, but for you I'll put some toilet water and that thing you made back in 5th grade."
"I-" Ash stammered before she let out a laugh "Jesus Christ you remember that?" she asked, trying to hold back a smile
"Corbin, I can still fucking taste whatever the hell that was. It sure wasn't pleasant." Scarlett replied, a grin on her face as she put her hands on her stomach in disgust
"Hey, don't blame me, you told me to make that drink as disgusting as possible you idiot." she teased, giving her a little shrug as she got a little closer to her
"You're still a fucking jackass for putting a caterpillar inside, those things can kill you." she teased back
"Oh shit okay, I'll go get a caterpillar and put it in that drink of yours." she laughed, pointing over to the fiery drink in the corner of the piano
"If you do that get that ugly mug out of my face, I'd appreciate it if I could die happy at the very least.
