So, a little while ago I had realized that a lot of information would not be covered at all in the story so I decided to cover it after CH.3 (despite the end of the first arc now being CH.4). So to start off, I would like to begin with explaining how Magic and Nulls work and are.
Magic: So in this world, there are five main elements. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Unaligned. There are also two additional elements that can't be cast without an item (certain exceptions apply). These elements are Light and Dark, most healing magic is derived from the light element, while most curse spells and forbidden magic are based on Dark magic. Magic can be cast in three different ways. The first is chant casting where the caster says a chant or word, a more advanced form of this is silent chanting where the caster doesn't need to say the chant or word. While it is quicker than chanting or a word as it is instantaneous, the spell is slightly weaker than the chanted or spoken version of the spell. The second way is by using a focus, such as a wand or staff that has been enchanted or has a refined mana stone attached to it. (Even rings would work this way.) This is stronger than the previous method so most mages tend to use this as their primary form of casting, but can be combined with the previous method to increase the power of the spell even more. EX. A fireball spell cast using a focus with a silent chant has at least the same amount of power as a full chant no focus fireball, a full chant focus fireball has at least double the power. This is based on the rank of the refined mana stone. The ranks range from inferior third to Godly first, with the inferior third being not only the weakest but the most common mana stone, found in almost every item used every day. They have a limited amount of mana if they are artificial, (made by a wizard and not harvest from a monster.) The artificial creation is covered later in the story. The third method is by using a spell scroll or specialized mana crystal. This is also covered in the story. Magic can also be dependent on emotions, such as anger or lust. Fire magic is the most affected by this ability.
Nulls: People born without the capability to use magic. This is determined when someone uses appraisal on a person, and their magic capability number is 0. Nulls can use magic by using stones embued with certain spells, as well as scrolls. They can also use magic if they receive a blessing but require training to properly control it. This will be covered more in Ch.4
The World itself:
So this world has 5 seasons, separated over 15 months, with each season having 3 months. In order, the seasons for most of the world are as follows. Winter, Spring, First Summer (lasts for 1.5 months), Special season dependent on region, Second Summer (lasts for 1.5 months), Fall. Cities located near the Varenshaw mountain, as well as other mountains, have their seasons in a different order. Summer, Fall, First Winter, Arctic Frost, Second Winter, Spring. There are two special seasons. The dry season, for more inland areas. During this time, there is little to no rain, while areas near the oceans experience a monsoon season, where the rain doesn't stop falling.
Okay, this is it for the terms and information post that covers stuff that isn't covered in the novel. In two weeks the first part of Ch4 will begin. Until then, hope you all have a great time, and I will see you all in two weeks.
Long ago, a weapon was forged that could challenge the power of destruction brought about by a curse on the world. Over the many years, it has been wielded by heroes, kings, and champions alike. Now, long since the weapon was forgotten to time, a new wielder shall pick it up, whether they are meant to become a legend or just some passing fairytale is it about to unfold.
