My name is Toby, I’m sixteen and I’m a werewolf. I belong to the Half Moonrise Pack and I’m the Omega of the pack. Omega is the person in a werewolf pack that has to obey everyone else in the pack, not just the Alpha who is the leader.

I finished school over the summer and the grades I got weren’t bad. I can’t go to college because I’m the Omega, I wouldn’t know what to study even if I could go. I don’t need to go college anyway because I’m taken good care of even though I’m the Omega. I get fed, clothed and get to stay in the Alpha’s house incase I’m needed. I have more than I need and I’m grateful because some Omega’s in other packs aren’t well treated or are worse off than me.

I have to do chores everyday and all the other pack members treat me as if I have a disease, they won’t come near me even when they want me to do something for them. No one hurts me physically but they do call me names sometimes which aren’t very nice.

There’s a party on tonight for the Alpha’s seventeenth birthday, the Alpha is the leader of our pack and has to protect us all. He is a young Alpha but it’s normal for Alpha’s to start their rein at a young age.

Other werewolf packs are invited to the party which will give mate less werewolves a chance to find a mate.

You find your mate from the age of sixteen but I haven’t yet found mine. I’m really exited to meet my mate because I will finally have someone who loves me. I hope I find her soon.

I finished my chores for the day and then sat in my room, the party will be starting soon and I don’t want to be in the way. I am not to attend the party anyway.

I had the smallest room as I was an Omega, Omega’s were considered as the weakest of the pack and weren’t allowed to have luxurious things or a nice bedroom. I just had a simple single bed and a small wardrobe where all my things fitted. I don’t have many things, only what I need like clothes, shoes, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb and shaving stuff.

There was a knock at the door. I went to open it, it was the Alpha.

“Alpha,” I said and bowed my head in respect.

The Alpha’s name was Drew and was yet to find his mate too. He was well built and strong, he had blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. He has girls falling at his feet and he’s a player. I doubt his mate will be happy when he finds her but that’s not my problem.

“Have you finished your chores Toby?” Alpha Drew asked.

“Yes Alpha, is there something else you’d like me to do?” I asked will my head still down down in submission.

“Yes there is, I want you at my birthday party,” Alpha Drew ordered me.

“Yes sir, what would you like me to do there?” I asked.

“Nothing, just attend,” Alpha Drew said and then walked away leaving me in complete shock.

The Alpha just said I had to attend his party but why? I’m usually never asked to go to any pack party unless to serve drinks or food for guests. I guess I’ll never know because I can’t exactly ask the Alpha, it would be seen as disrespectful and I would be punished for it.

I looked for something to wear. I just picked out the first thing my hands touched which was a white top and black jeans. I got dressed and put my fingers through my black hair. Then I headed down to the party which had already started.

It was really noisy, the music was hurting my ears. People were already drunk, making out and doing things I have no intention of thinking about ever and I swear some dude went running past me at some point butt naked. Now I’m glad for never being allowed to a party because I’m not missing anything interesting.

I couldn’t see the Alpha anywhere so maybe I could sneak back into my room. I made my way upstairs and was suddenly hit by this intriguing smell. I couldn’t describe it but it was a lovely scent and it was calling out to me so I followed it. I was surprised to be taken to my room.

I opened the door and what I saw would haunt me forever. A couple were having sex in my bed.

When they saw me, they pulled away from each other and covered themselves. That’s when I saw the girls face and when I did, that was it. I realised she was my mate.

She was really pretty, she had short ash blonde hair and blue eyes, she was tall and slim. She was looking straight at me and I got lost in her eyes but then I remembered what she just did. I had to get out of there, I ran out but I heard a voice say

“Wait I want to talk to you,”

I turned to where the voice was coming from and it was her, my so called mate.

“I don’t think there’s anything to say,” I said in a hurt voice.

“There is,” my mate insisted.

“And what is that?” I asked.

“I reject you as my mate,” she said and I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. How can she reject me? I’m her mate.

“But we’re mates,” I squeaked.

“I already have a mate, I can’t accept you,” and with that she walked away leaving me completely broken.

I thought mates were supposed to accept each other not get rejected. I feel so empty.

I felt so much pain in my abdomen, my mate must be having sex with that guy again and in my bed, how dare they?

I ran to my room and was right, there they both were, at it in my bed oblivious to my presence. I knocked them both off my bed onto the floor by pulling the sheets towards me harshly.

“I accept your rejection now get out of my room the pair of you,” I said in a angry voice I’d never used on anyone, I sounded scary. Immediately they both grabbed their clothes and scurried away from my room leaving me to deal with my rejection alone.

I couldn’t bare the thought of sleeping with the same bed sheets, duvet cover and pillow case so I took them off the bed and threw them in the laundry basket before changing to new ones. I took my clothes off and got in bed.

I really can’t believe I found my mate today and in bed with someone else. I went to sleep hoping that she’d somehow change her mind and we could be happy together but I doubted it.
