Alfred walked out of the school as the final bell rang, he hadn’t seen Rigby since Matthew's class. He hopped hadn’t gotten in trouble for talking to him today. Alfred climbed into his car and slumped in the driver's seat. He had sent Rigby a text earlier too just met him at the car, he still had no idea what he was going to do with it yet. If he were to keep it he’d have to make something up for his parents, and how would he get rid of it if he wasn’t going to keep it.

“Hey Al, I see Lorence gave you a little gift.” Patrick chuckled as he approached the car, he was alone which wasn’t normal for Patrick.

“I earned it, he didn’t just give it to me,” Alfred said lying through his teeth. He wanted them to know he earned his place among them by skill and not by favor. He knew deep down that Lorence had favored him from the beginning.

“Yeah, yeah we know you earned it Al.” Patrick chuckled, rolling his eyes as he rested his arms against the driver's side window that Alfred had rolled down.

“Why don’t we take this baby out for a spin? I’m sure it's a beast on the road.” Patrick said admiring the car and its craftsmanship.

“Can’t today, I’m working on Matthew’s project with Rigby today. However, maybe tomorrow we can take it for a spin.” Alfred said, putting on a fake smile as he gripped the steering wheel.

He just wanted Patrick to leave before Rigby got here, it was like the more time he spent with Patrick the more Alfred found too dislike. Patrick scoffed at him as his eyes darkened a little at the mention of Rigby.

“Come on Al, you don’t really wanna hang out with that little gay prick more than your best friend do you?” Patrick said, gripping onto the edge of the window. Alfred rolled the window up a little as a warning,

“that's not what I'm saying Patrick, I promised him we’d work on it today and I don’t break my promises,” Alfred said as Patrick backed off satisfied with his answer.

“Speaking of Rigby here he comes now, so if you don’t mind moving out of the way I'd like to go meet up with him.” Alfred said as friendly as he possibly could.

“See you later Al.” Patrick said as he stepped back from the car. Alfred quickly started the car and drove away too quickly to pick up Rigby.

“Rigby!” Alfred shouted as he waved his hand out the window to get Rigbys attention.

Alfred smiled as Rigby jumped a little, then blushed with embarrassment as he realized it was just Alfred. Rigby quickly jogged over to the car and climbed inside.

“Sorry I’m a little late Mr. Donnelly had me finish up a lab we were working on.” Rigby sighed as he slumped into the passenger seat.

Alfred chuckled as Rigby’s seat belt clicked into place, he had just the thing to get his spirits up.

“How about that soccer match, to get that energy back?” Alfred chuckled as Rigby perked up and smiled at him.

“You're so on.” Rigby said excitedly as Alfred quickly buckled his seat belt. “Oh, I'm going to wipe the field with you.” Rigby laughed as Alfred began the long slow drive out of the student parking lot.

“Good thing I have a ball in the back so we don’t need to stop anywhere else.” Alfred said, flashing Rigby a smile as someone cut him off.

“Yeah now I can just beat you faster,” Rigby chuckled as the cars in front halted to a stop again.

“Ugh, there’s always so much damn traffic in this parking lot. Nobody can fucking wait their turn and everyone's an asshole.” Alfred huffed as he flipped off another person who cut him off.

Rigby laughed at him as he blasted his horn at another person, this is the exact reason he had never taken his parent's extra car to school. Alfred chuckled as he got an idea, he might get in trouble for this but damn it it was worth it.

“You’re gonna want to hold onto the handle Rigs” Alfred smirked as Rigby blushed.

“R-r-rigs?” Rigby said, questioning the nickname.

“Yeah, I can’t give my friend a nickname? If you don’t like it I can stop.” Alfred smirked, glancing over at Rigby as he took a deep calming breath.

“N-no I like it, y-you can use it.” Rigby said, trying to stay calm as he stared at his hands.

Alfred smiled, it was obvious he had never been given a nickname before, it was cute how nervous it made him.

“Now grab onto the handle Rigs” Alfred chuckled as Rigby gave him a confused look.

“What? Why?” Rigby asked as he glanced over at the handle.

“Don’t say I didn't warn you.” Alfred said a mischievous smile spread across his face.

Suddenly he jerked the wheel hard to the left and stepped on the gas. Rigby cried out in surprise and latched onto the handle as the car launched over the curb and they drove through the grass and past all the traffic.

“Alfred!” Rigby scolded him, as shocked laughter filled his voice.

Alfred laughed with him as he got back onto the road, now they didn’t need to deal with the school traffic.

“Why didn’t you say something!” Rigby said, his laughter dying down a little.

“I did say something, I told you to grab the handle.” Alfred chuckled as Rigby’s laughter died down.

“Just you wait, I’ll get you back during that soccer match. Rigby laughed as he playfully pushed Alfred’s shoulder.

“Don’t go easy on me now, give me everything you got.” Alfred said as Rigby rolled his eyes.

“You can count on it.” Rigby smirked as Alfred chuckled. He wanted to see Rigby laughing all the time.

Alfred sighed and turned around as Rigby blasted past him with the ball. Rigby was way faster than he had expected.

“You’d think someone as fast as you would be on the track team.” Alfred huffed as he chased after Rigby.

“You said not to hold back, and besides I told you, you didn’t have the right build for soccer.” Rigby laughed back at him as he kicked the ball into Alfred’s goal.

“What’s the score now?” Rigby asked with a huge smile on his face as he turned around to face Alfred.

“23 too 5” Alfred sighed his voice full of laughter, he was pretty sure Rigby gave him those 5 goals out of pity.

“Told you I'd win.” Rigby laughed, pushing Alfred’s shoulder.

“I’ll show you winning Rigs” Alfred laughed as he tackled Rigby and they tumbled down the hill next to the soccer field.

“That's.. not .. fair, there's no tackling in soccer!” Rigby gasped with laughter as Alfred landed on top of him at the bottom of the hill.

“By my rules there absolutely is tackling.” Alfred chuckled as he moved his hair out of his face and pinned Rigby to the ground. Alfred smiled as he watched Rigby laugh, why did he find him so adorable?

“Alright Alfred, get off me,” Rigby said as he slowly stopped laughing.

“Maybe I want you to beg for it,” Alfred smirked as Rigby blushed as he realized how close they were.

“A-Alfred..” Rigby whispered as they both moved closer together.

Alfred could feel an almost magnetic pull towards Rigby; he didn’t want it to stop. What were they doing? Alfred felt a smirk spread across his face as their faces got close enough their noses were just barely touching, then Alfred felt a few raindrops dance across his back.

“Shit, I didn’t realize it was supposed to rain today,” Alfred said, pulling away as the rain steadily began to pour.

Alfred quickly rolled off Rigby and helped him up off the ground, Rigby’s face was still bright red.

“Come on, Rigs, let's get back to your place before we get drenched.” Alfred laughed as he grabbed Rigby’s hand and ran through the rain.

Within seconds they were both laughing as Alfred grabbed the ball and they ran through the rain towards the car. Alfred was going to make it his mission to see Rigby laugh every day because there was nothing better than hearing his laughter as they ran through the rain.

Alfred and Rigby are two normal 16-year-old boys who attend BroadRiver Academy. one day they unexpectedly meet and their lives are changed forever. follow their adventures and struggle to live in their homaphobic hometown.

Alfred and Rigby are both characters in my main story "The Mafia's Code" this side story is their backstory of how they met and how they came to be in the mafia in the first place!

you don't need to read "The Mafia's Code" to understand this story, it just gives background information on Alfred and Rigby for those who have read the story already otherwise it can be an entirely separate story. :>
