Read Hail & The Silver Winglet shorts :: A stormy competition

Today was NOT Hail's favorite day. Aphid was too overexcited about catching a big mountain goat with Shrek, their hunting teacher. Aphid decided to brag about it all day long to Hail. "It was WAY better crispy, at least Mr. Shrek has strong fire. I doubt he'd be crisping it for you, Hail. Oh, that's right you like cold things better." And then would go "mmmmm, mmmmmmmmm. So good, Hail would HATE this." Knowing that Hail's favorite hot meat was mountain goat. "Hey Aphid," He mocked "I bet you can't beat me in a contest to get five mountain goats the quickest Too bad your eating your crisps." And Aphid threw her goat aside. "I'm in." She said frantically. And off they went, trying to catch five mountain goats.

Hail was desperate. If he didn't catch these five goats before Aphid he was going to hide in his bed and not come out for a week. Should I use my animus magic to give me a heas start? He wondered Or I could just wish for the best. But then again I DO have animus magic. He needed a plan, and fast, but he couldn't make up his mind. He decided to just go for it and if Aphid had more he might use his magic. He was still asking himself if this was a good choice before he saw his first goat. It was a misty gray color with curly horns, standing stiff and proud facing the sky. Yes! first goat here I come! But before he could take it and bring it back to Jace Mountain Academy he saw Aphid, knowing Hail was there, stepped out behind the cliff and took the goat. whatdoIdowhatdoIdowhatdoIdo!!!! Should I use my magic or not? And then Lightning Struck the goat, startling Ahpid and leading her to fall out of the sky.

At this time it started pouring. He knew he didn't want to but he had to check up on Aphid. She WAS in the silver winglet with him after all. Hail didn't expect a storm, especially almost gettingstruck by lightning. It was our fault for flying way higher than the trees. Aphid was lying on the ground, in pain, he could tell by the strains on her face. As he got closer he could see the burn wound. It was bad. "Please, I'm sorry! Please get help! OW!!" He nodded and darted to the Academy. He informed his IceWing-SeaWing healer teacher and they went back to APhid. She was now covering her wound. "What in the three moons happened?!" Biofreeze asked. Hail sighed "She was carrying a goat home and lightning hit her." And after that Aphid continued being nice to him. For now...
