On December 31st, 2024, Kiel woke up once again in the mortal world, mostly naked (save for the underwear that covered his most private areas) and laying in the middle of a forest staring at the blue sky that was scattered with fluffy cream clouds. He stood up with shaky legs, knees trembling with the uncertain motions he was trying to perform, but upon stabilising himself against the trunk of a nearby tree his knees eventually stopped their shaking. Once he was confident enough standing up he ran his slender fingers through his hair, it was long, silky and a silver colour similar to the light of the moon, looking down at his own body he took note of his slender limbs and the creamy lukewarm tone of his own skin. He traced over the thick scar on his chest, a reminder of how he previously died. Letting out a heavy sigh he let his violet eyes roam around the silent woodland forest of which he had awoken, tracing a gentle hand over the rough bark of the tree he leaned against for support Kiel sighed once more, the energy that flowed through the world was imbalanced and had a sour taste to it. The air that he breathed felt thick on his tongue and not so crisp as he last remembered it, no longer tasting of fresh rain and earthy things but instead of something sickly sour and musty.
He swiped a tongue across his teeth, relishing in the safe feeling of knowing his fangs were still as sharp as ever.
Crack.
The noise was sharp and rung clear through the previously silent forest, Kiel bared his fangs and turned towards the area the sudden noise had erupted from, shocked to find a petite woman with a woven basket trembling and staring at him with wide eyes, she was dressed in a pink jumpsuit with a white apron tied over the front.
“W-who are you?” She mumbled in a soft voice that trembled with every syllable that rolled off of her tongue in an accent Kiel didn’t recognise.
The silvery haired Omegan spirit tilted his head and scented the air, picking up on her subtle scent of honey and strawberry marmalade, an Omega. He let his expression relax and spoke out in his heavily accented voice, “you’re an Omega?”
The young woman nodded hesitantly and tapped the white collar around her neck, she hesitantly sniffed the air as Kiel had done before and reeled back a little as the scent of rain and sweet morning dew filled her nose, she could certainly identify him as an Omega but a scent of such natural smells was uncommon in modern day Omegas who typically smelled of sugary items, man made (and most likely found at a bakery). “You’re an Omega as well?”
"Yes, yes." Kiel’s jade purple eyes brightened significantly and he stepped toward the smaller, female Omega, “may you please assist me in acquiring some clothing?”
She frowned and eyed his neck, curling in on herself a little more as she mentally took note of his bare, collarless neck, “sure I can help ya, as soon as I finish my mushroom pickin’ or else I won't have any for dinner, ya know.”
Kiel nodded enthusiastically, he’d never been self conscious about his own body but he knew that being (mostly) naked was not socially acceptable, “I can help if you’d like?”
“Sure, whatever as long as ya know what mushrooms yer pickin’.” She huffed and tossed him her spare mushroom harvesting blade. Kiel happily hummed as he caught the blade and tottered off like an excitable toddler, eager to explore the world he’d been away from for so long. His long silver hair swaying around the back of his knees and occasionally tangling on a low branch, the Omega woman tilted her head curiously as she watched him, admiring his elegance and grace. There were many things about him that made her uncertain and on edge, but watching him gracefully dance around the forest searching for mushrooms gave her an eerie sense of peace, like she was watching a spirit dance through the air in front of her. He seemed peaceful and dangerous all in the same as he glided across the forest floor, back and forth, helping her fill her basket full of fresh mushrooms, silver hair swaying around him like a curtain of soft moonlight.
Upon filling the female Omega’s basket full of foraged mushrooms and herbs they made the journey to the Omega's home, and hence Kiel now stood in the doorway of a large house that reeked of a thick leathery scent, most definitely an Alpha. Kiel reeled back a little at the potent scent, it was thick, thankfully not a hostile scent however, it covered the area around the pristine cottage house like a protective barrier. The cottage itself was not a traditional cottage house, likely double the size, with large open glass windows and a neat garden of flowers and herbs outside the front door. “My Alpha isn’t home right now, so I’ll give ya some clothes and then I expect ya to be on yer way, yeah?”
“Sounds good Miss!” He said with a small tight lipped smile, sensing her apprehension all around him as she opened the front door and motioned for him to follow her in. He stepped inside the house and followed her towards what he assumed was a kitchen, bumping into her petite frame when she suddenly stopped and the scent of surprise, tainted with fear, erupted into the air around him. Peering over her he made eye contact with a narrowed eyed Alpha that smelled of leather and sawdust, the Alpha stood up to her full height, she was small for an Alpha but Kiel was also tall for an Omega so they stood similar in height. Her brown hair was pulled into a tight bun, her sunset orange eyes meeting Kiel’s with a clear hostility that she was sure he’d understand.
Kiel felt all his muscles tense as the Alpha let out a throaty snarl and the small female Omega between them squeaked, running to hide in a separate room as the tension in the air increased.
