After being clear on the fact that Leandre was helping me, he went to grab the tofu and the chicken in the fridge while I searched for the other ingredients we would need. The kitchen wasn't that big, at least for sixteen people, there was a huge fridge, there was a big work surface pressed against the wall, and another table was pushed against it to increase the surface.

Leandre and I were on the big countertop while my dad was on the table, about three meters away.

 With the fact that Lee and I were working silently, him reading the recipe and me starting to weigh the good amount of mushrooms, it was clearly not far enough because I heard Brent told to my dad "What's with you today? So much enthusiasm!"

 It's true that my dad was pretty excited and energised today, I didn't hear my dad answer anything but Brent smirking adds "Probably did you get lucky last night?". 

That made me look abruptly at my dad and by the look on his face, I was sure I didn't want to listen to more. I didn't know if he forgot I was here or if he thought I couldn't hear them. 

Wait! What if it was the reason he told me to bring Leandre to chit-chat with him because he knew they would speak about things like that?

My train of thought was interrupted by Leandre coughing, he obviously did hear this too because he was embarrassed,  “You know what?  Like we complain about last time over the phone, let's speak with each other!”

"What a brilliant idea!" I exclaim

Yes, we decide that we needed to divert our attention from that conversation quite quickly. Let's update each other about our sooo interesting lives!
