Girl Behind The Stars

Tialis Hoen, Part 1

Tialis Hoen, Part 1

Oct 02, 2021

When she hugged me the pain disappeared. "Tia are you okay?" She looked at me with a very worried expression on her face. "Tia?" She keeps saying Tia. Is that my name? I looked into her teary eyes when suddenly a man entered the room. He had the same hair and eye color as the girl.

"Honey is Tia alright?" He walked over to us and knelt. I looked at him. "What's wrong Tia?" Suddenly a single teardrop left my eye. "Tia...?" He hugged me and patted my head. "Everything is alright now."

"I-I'm sorry." I don't know why I apologized but I felt better after I did. These two must be my parents. My father got up and looked at me. My mother was still hugging me.

"Say Tia... do you know who I am?" He looked at me with a sad expression on his face. How did he notice? I didn't act strange right? "The way your looking at us and your surroundings... like you've never seen any of these before." He... realised that? Is that probably this 'parents notice everything" thing?

"I'm sorry..." When I said that, the two of them were shocked for a moment. My father smiled slightly.

"There's nothing you have to apologize for." My mother hugged me even tighter and cried slightly. "Tia are you hungry? We were just about to make dinner. I nodded and walked over to the empty door frame. He laid his hand on it and turned around. "Honey let's make dinner. You can stay here and process the situation first Tia." I nodded and my mother got up. She smiled at me and left the room. Was it a mistake to them? No, if I would kept it a secret, I would only have problems later.

The goddess said this is like a game with a status window. But how do I open it? I looked at my tiny hands. "Status." A dark blue and a bit transparent box appeared in front of me.

Name: Tialis Hoen

Race: [Human]

Age: 5

HP: 10/10

Mana: 4/4

Agility: 5

Strengh: 3

Defense: 2

Skills: [Stargazing]

Magical Affinity: Unknown

I-It really worked! So this is this status window? I don't remember how it looked in games so it's my first time seeing something like this. I'm 5 years old? And my stats are all weak. But there's a skill. How can I take a closer look at it? I looked at the skill for a bit and then the window changed.

[Stargazing]

Rank: S
Gives the ability to read informations from the stars.

That's all? But it is an S rank skill. S should be the strongest if I'm correct. A few minutes passed while I was looking at my status window when suddenly my father entered the room. "Tia... i-is that?" He can see it? "Your eye... You managed to open it? But you're only 5. T-That's amazing!" Thank god. I thought I did something wrong. "Honey take a look at this!" My mother entered the room.

"What is it? Dinners ready..." She put her hands over her mouth and looked at me with a shocked expression. "How did you open it at such a young age?" She knelt in front of me.

"Calm down. You should be happy! Our daughter is a genius!" He smiled brightly and sat down next to me. Let me take a look. I nodded and he looked at my status window. At the same time his status window appeared in front of him. When I looked at him I saw a blue ring in his left eye. So that's how he noticed. "Is that a skill? But I never heared of this one." The window changed again and the skill informations appeared.

"What did you say? Tia has a skill?" My mother looked a bit confused.

"Y-Yes, an incredible one. It is an S rank." They looked very shocked. "Tia you are amazing!" He patted my head. "Here take a look at mine. You have to keep yours open in order to look at mine." In front of him appeared a status window.

Name: Kentil Hoen

Race: [Human]

Age: 27

HP: 80/80

MP: 10/12

Agility: 36

Strengh: 42

Defense: 32

Skills: [Sword Aura] [Body Aura]

Magical Affinity: [Fire]

I can't tell if his stats are high or not. But he has two skills. [Sword Aura] is an D rank and allows you to envelope your sword with Tesmia. [Body Aura] is also an D rank. It does the same as sword aura however, it envelopes the body and not the sword. But what does Tesmia mean? Is it something like mana? Wait, what did mana mean again? Nevermind, I'll think about it later. "What about mother?" I looked at her and she smiled. She sat down on the other side and opened her status window.

"Here. And you can call us mom and dad how you did in the past." She smiled. I'm sorry but it wasn't me who called you mom... I smiled and looked at her stats.

Hilda Hoen

Race: [Human]

Age: 25

HP: 68/68

MP: 9/9

Agility: 28

Strengh: 26

Defense: 26

Skills: None

Magical Affinity: [Healing], [Water]

She doesn't have a skill? Are skills rare? "She really has an S rank skill." Mom looked at me. "We should eat now." She got up and dad nodded. He stood up and lifted me up.

"Let's eat Tia." He smiled at me and took my hand. We left the room and entered another one. It was a bit bigger than the room i was in. In the middle was a dinning table. Behind it was the kitchen. But because this is another world it all looked old. On the right was a door and a window. In front of the window was an old couch. Are we perhabs poor? I walked over too the table and dad lifted me up. He sat me on the chair next to him. Because I am to small there was a pillow on my chair. On the table was a soup inside a wooden bowl with a wooden spoon. Next to the bowl was a bit bread. I tried the soup and it was very good. The bread was a bit hard but when you dib it in the soup it becomes edible. "How is it Tia?"

Dad looked at me. "It's good!" I think I overreacted a bit. Mom and dad smiled.

"Then everything is good." Maybe he's concerned about my 'amnesia'. Of course he is. His daughter suddenly remembers nothing. I feel a bit bad. I, a complete stranger, have taken over the body of their daugther. And to top it of, I even pretend to be her. How the two will react if they find out? I don't even want to imagine. Because... for some reason, I feel a certain bond with them. Maybe these are the feelings the 'real' Tia Hoen left behind.

We finished eating and I was sitting on the couch looking out of the window. My parents sat at the table and talked. Outside of the window were many old houses. It was a little foggy but I saw a few people walking around outside. Time passed and the sun has already set. I looked out of the window the whole time and now you can already see the stars. "Tia, let's go sleep. It's already late." My mom enterd the room. "Tia?" She slowly approached me.

"It's going to rain tomorrow." I said that while looking at the stars. I don't know the reason for it but I just felt like it would rain tomorrow. Mom looked laid her hand on my shoulder and looked at me. I jumped off of the couch and she blocked the window with wood plate. I took her hand and we went to the bedroom. We all slept in the same bed. I laid in the middle and the two of them were hugging me. I think I was an adult in my past life but I don't feel like one. I feel more like a kid. I feel like I am a 5 years old girl, a very smart 5 years old girl.

When I woke up in the next morning I was alone in the bed. I left the bedroom and entered the living room. That's how I decided to call it. My parents were making breakfast. It looked like we're going to eat soup again. It was interesting to see that they aren't using fire to make food. They're using dad's [Heat Touch] skill. "Good morning Tia." Dad looked at me and smiled. "Did you sleep well?" I nodded and sat down on the couch. I wanted to sit down on the chair but I'm to small to do it by myself.

I looked out of the window and what I saw surprised me. It was raining. "Breakfast's ready!" Mom called out for me. I got up and walked to the dinning table. Dad lifted me up and sat me on the chair next to him. We ate together and talked a bit. It seems like the both of them now accepted the fact that their daugter can't remember anything. It was fun to eat together.

After we finished eating and the rain stopped, it knocked at the door. "Tia would you open the door?" My parents were cleaning the dishes in water they brought from the fontain. I nodded and jumped off of the chair. "Look out of the window before you open it!" I reached out my arms to the side and ran to the couch. I climbed on it and looked out of the window.

"There's a tall man with a black beard." I turned around and looked at my parents.

"That's Rowaald. He's a good friend you can open the door for him." I jumped off of the couch and ran to the door. I jumped to reach the doorknob and opened the door on my tiptoe. The man smiled at me.

"Hey little one. Did you come to open the door for me?" He reached out his hand to pat my head but I dodged him. "Hey you're hurting my feelings, you know." He laughed slightly when suddenly dad appeared behind me.

"Hey Rowaald long time no see! Come in." Rowaald enterd the house and took of his hat. Under his hat he was bald. He only had hair on the side of his head.

"Good morning Rowaald. How are you? We haven't seen each other for a long time." Mom looked at him and smiled.

"I'm fine. How are you guys doing these days?" He smiled. "Did something happen to the little one? That's the first time she dodged my pat." He laughed slightly and sat down at the table. Dad sat down next to him.

"Ah about that... It seems like Tia lost her memories..." Dad looked sad again when he said that. I ran over to him and laid my head down on his leg. He patted my head and smiled at me.

Rowaald jumped up. "What did you say?!" He sat down again. "Sorry. What happened to her to lose her memories?" He looked at me.

"We would like to know that too." Mom sat down on her usual place. "Yesterday she screamed like she was in pain and now she remembers nothing." I walked over to mom and she lifted me up. She sat me on her lap. There was still a free chair but I think that's fine too.

"She was in pain?" He looked at me and reached out his hand. "I'm Rowaald Dreist. Nice to meet you Tia." He smiled and I took his hand.

"I'm Tialis Hoen. Nice to meat you Mr Rowaald." He laughed and looked at me.

"Skip the mister. You used to call me uncle Ro. It would feel strange to be so formal all of the sudden." I nodded and smiled at him.

"Say Rowaald, how's Gwen doing?" Mom began to pat my head.

"She's fine. Our child will be born soon. I hope I'll get back home before that happens." He smiled at me.

"Oh so she's pregnant? Have you already decided on a name for the kid?" Dad patted him on his shoulder.

"Yeah, we have. If it becomes a girl we'll name her Leslie. Gwen really likes this name." He laughed proudly. I'm sure he was the one who came up with this name. "If it becomes a boy we'll name him Amir." Mom and dad were a bit shocked to hear that.

"Amir? So she wants to name her child after her brother?" Dad locked at Rowaald.

"Yeah. You know how good Gwen's relationship with her brother was." His expression sadded a bit. "Amir was a good guy. He didn't deserve to end like this." Everybody became silent. I really wanted to know what happend with him but it wasn't the right moment to ask. We continued talking for the whole day. It was fun. Rowaald is a really kind person.

"Do you already know were you'll stay tonight?" Dad looked a bit worried.

"Oh... I came here right after my arrival. I forgot about that." He laughed and ate from the soup. "Your food's still the best Hilda! Gwen never cooks for me."

Mom laughed slightly. "Don't you guys have a cook at home? His food should be better than mine." A cook? Is he a nobleman? "Then how about staying here tonight? It could be a bit uncomfortable but you can sleep on the couch if you want." Mom took a bite from her bread.

"That would be nice! It's already late, so it could become troublesome to find a place to sleep." He took a bite from the bread. "And don't worry, even if I have some money now, I'll never forget where I came from! Nothing is better than a soup with bread!" All of them began to laugh. After we finished eating I sat down on the couch again and looked at the stars. The three of them continued talking for a while.

"Tia let's go to bed now. Rowaald traveled the whole night yesterday, let him rest now." Mom looked at me.

"What's with the little one? She's looking at the stars the whole time. Does she love them so much?" When I looked at the star I had a strange feeling.

I kept silent for a few seconds. "Tomorrow... it will rain again." When I woke up the next morning it was raining. I entered the living room and Rowaald was still there. I'm sure he can't leave because of the rain.

"You were right little one! But how did you now that it'll rain?" He looked at me with a curios expression on his face. I didn't knew the reason for it so I just shook my head. "To bad... I would like to learn that too." He laughed. "I'm sure it'll be useful for travelling." The time passed and the rain didn't stop. It became even worse. When I looked at the stars at night I kept silent. I didn't feel like it was going to rain tomorrow.

The feeling did not emerge, but something else happened instead. I had a nightmare. A really bad one. I don't remember what happened in it but when I woke up I immedialtely started to cry.
