Light Let Loose

003 - Execution

003 - Execution

Sep 21, 2021

So far so good.

We arrived at a small garden, just outside the castle walls. The fresh air on my new skin felt incredible, but just when I was about to enjoy it, a man in a shiny armor stood in front of us. The incredible detail in the abstract forms in the metal, his apparently heavy cape, with some fluffy material in the borders, he must be one of the bad guys… and probably an important one. He had crimson red hair, and his eyes reminded me the Asians from where I came, lined and small. He was handsome, but just as bad news as that crazy woman. What should I do? This is a small place; I don’t know if I can outrun him.

While I was lost in thoughts, the menacing man rose his hand shoulder level. Everyone just shouted and scream out of fear.

“Bright Wind,” I heard, and immediately paralyzed… his voice was ominous and disgusting – even in the distance could feel his whole presence crushing my every bone. “Heaven’s Confine.”

I couldn’t move as much as I tried – I couldn’t even breathe. What is this? No… I know exactly what happened. He used magic. He somehow sealed our movements with his tremendous and terrifying self. I panicked even more than before. Struggling was futile, there was nothing that my sorry self could do.

“Dark: Zealotry Path.”

As soon as he said those threatening words, we all started walking towards his direction and into a stone road. I was conscious, but my body wasn’t my own anymore. We followed the man as he commanded to a town nearby, to an enormous plaza where the people that wasn’t killed yet was gathered. Hahaha, what a strange thought? In the far side, I saw some men in white tunics just as the ones in the dungeon before, the priests.

“Release,” said the ominous man that dragged us here. But as soon as that ended, he spoke in that strange language of theirs… This magic they use, why can I understand the words they say? Are they talking in my language? The servants I escaped with started to sit down on the floor, so I did the same. I always loved the 1500 buildings and clothes, and seeing it right could bring me a lot f joy. It helped me to ease my mind detailing them, but I couldn’t avert my eyes from the golden knights preventing us to leave. Oh, this is fun.

In front of the cleric that brought me to this crazy world was a woman dressed in purple silk. She was incredibly beautiful, but this presence… she’s the one from before. Even in the castle, I was too scare to see in her direction while I was escaping with the servants. She began to talk with that sadistic voice of her, and I couldn’t get anything. This is starting to frustrate me. After a couple of words, the people muttered and whispered with one another. The lady seemed to ask something to the town, I thought.

“Light,” this again, but this time it was her magic! Her presence grew stronger. The air around all of us shifted, raging against us. Is this magic? It’s so overwhelming. “Trials of the Unworthy.”

The air calmed down as white clock-like circles appeared above the heads of the priests. I narrowed my eyes and… Yes! The numbers, they are like the ones at home. That’s a relief. The woman said more words, and it felt like a taunt. People rose in rage, shouting incomprehensible things to her. The first clock’s hand marked 12 and a soothing sound filled the plaza.

It happened so fast I could hardly saw what happen. A blinding light rushed to us for just a fraction of a second, but it was enough to decapitate and carbonize the priest. What kind of magic is this? I can only think of the card tricks I saw on tv. This is beyond anything human. The corpse dropped to the floor, and everyone around me just didn’t have the will, or guts, to gesticulate anymore.

“Don’t falter!” this voice… is from the priest that burned that insignia on my chest. “There is no act in this world that rests unchecked. The sinful and invading country of Domitean will have their-”

The woman didn’t even bother to let him finish, his burnt head rolled down just like the last one. Ironically, that rolling head is just like my hope of escaping. There is no way they let me go, let alone give me the means to go back home… This, yeah, this is the end, isn’t it?

As hopeless as I was, I couldn’t see the blurry yellow-ish energy falling from the sky, surrounding us.

“Holy: Hall for the Fallen.”

An overwhelming presence reached me, but unlike the invaders’ – how the priest called them – this one felt warm, welcoming. A man clothed in emerald armor landed just outside the field. Wielding an amazing sword and carrying an astonishing shield, he stood in front of the woman in purple. From afar, I could hear the battle cry of countless men… Are these our saviors?

Extra Chapter:

Using one of the many Gryphons of the country, he managed to arrive before everything escalated. The harpy in front of him looked vicious, ready to strike at any second. Her power was quite overwhelming, but nothing he could not deal with.

“Well, well. It looks like the Queendom of Amanres decided to appear,” she said, trying to provoke the young knight. “I hope the Queen is doing well.”

“Although I’d love to take revenge on you, Nancy, I have some pressing matters to attend to. So be kind and surrender to me, you know your magic is ineffective against me,” the knight hid his rage with the mask of duty. He’s only job was to hold Nancy off.

“Oh, this is the part where my body shivers, isn’t it? That may be true, dear, but I didn’t come alone, you know?”

… Is there another General here? Thought the knight. He was the first to arrive, it would take a couple of minutes for the reinforcements to get there. Two generals from the Domitean Kingdom could be a lot to take, but he had no other choice. He lifted his hand, pointing the Circle of Clerics that were still alive.

“Inspiration.”

The white clock-like circles above the priests’ head clouded, and the now magic mist rushed to the knight’s hand, absorbing it.

“You will hurt these people no longer. Bring it on!”

Nancy, with a wicked look, grinned.

“Humor me, Hansel. Don’t disappoint me.”
