The knight that just arrived eagerly engaged the crazy purple woman. The guard preventing us from escaping where struggling to actually get inside the ‘Hall for the Fallen.’ Must be some kind of energy barrier? Amazing. But we weren’t safe yet, not until we get out of the city, or all the invaders are defeated. What will be the next move?

Just as I had this thought, I felt how the stone under my feet trembled. What is happening now? In the middle of the whole field, the ground gave way to a tunnel beneath. From the hole, a small figure came out, brandishing a huge hammer in its hand. It… is it a small woman? She looks shorter than the average. The newcomer screamed to the multitude something, and they started rushing to the tunnel… is it a way out? Could be... and I don’t want to stick around to see if there’s another one.

The people were shouting and pushing each other in a mayhem. It was actually scarier than I thought it would be, my goodness. The woman with the hammer seemed to be enjoying the moment, so probably no one was getting any injure while scaping through the tunnel? Probably.

I was so far away, though, I may be one of the last ones. I could hear some metal crashing in the distant, probably from the knight I saw earlier. The soldiers that came with him finally got close enough to fight with the invaders outside the barrier. This is so weird.

Are they trying to retake the castle? If we are evacuating, then probably not. There was something strange about the army that just came, but I just can’t put my finger on it. It was so difficult to see through the barrier.

I was getting a glimpse of the strategy behind this and smiled delighted, though. This is what I’ve been studying my entire life, how nations have clashed with each other. This is all fascinating, but so scary at the same time! I tried to calm down a little, I don’t want to die any time soon after all. If I get too excited, I might make a mistake that will regret later.

There was just a few of the townsfolk left when I heard a crack behind me. The warm light that surrounded us faded away with a sound resembling glass breaking. I looked up and the thin energy covering the plaza disappeared. How did this happen? We all turned around and realized the horrible truth. The caped guy from before had his hand where the barrier stood. Did he break the magic with his own? I looked back to the small woman, and she was utterly shocked. So, things aren’t going her way, I pressumed.

She rushed to face the guy in a blink of an eye. It was so fast and blinding I wasn’t able to follow her speed. I did hear the air whistling in her path, though. Next thing I knew, she smashed her hammer into the ground, making it tremble. What an incredible power. The guy jumped just in time to avoid being squished under her weapon, unfazed. She engaged the guy with a smile in her face. Is she enjoying it? The power he used to break the barrier, and the magic he cast when he forced us to walk to the plaza. That redhead is a powerfull foe. I hope she doesn’t get hurt fighting him.

Ok, this is not the time to appreciate the beauty of the moment, nor to worry about someone else I need to get out of here right now. I looked like the others had the same idea and wasted no time rushing to the hole. Another knight came out of there, and a lot of soldiers ran to hold the guards off our way. These soldiers... they weren’t human. Their skin and armor, it seemed to me like sand. Their movement were rather mechanic-like too. Is this also magic? It has to be, right?

The knight had blond hair and a well-cared mustache. His finger pointed to the exit, encoraging the people to escape. I wonder… I saw the other soldiers that were fighting just outside of the barrier and confirmed they were made out of sand too. This knight can summon an army just like that… I’m guessing this magic is his, of course. Don’t know if it actually is.

I was just about to get inside of the tunnel when I heard a really loud sound, like metal being clobbered? I saw in the direction of the sound and could tell something broke through the wall of one of the houses nearby. There was so much smoke and debris impeding me to know what happened. I heard again steps getting near us, a paralyzing sound of high heels threatening our escape. The purple woman, with a monstrous, huge and darkened hand touching the floor, was walking to us, smiling inhumanly, blood dripping from her fingers.

It only took me a few seconds to guess the thing that crashed at the building was the emerald knight.

Hahaha, I’m so dead now.

She pointed her massive finger to the sand soldier and said a few things. He responded with false security and a wry smile in his face. This is totally getting out of hands… What should I…?

An ominous voice reached my ears. Suddenly, everything started to go slower and slower until it all stopped its movements. Not even I could move a muscle. What is happening now? This has been too much, and I don’t know if I can take it anymore. The voice kept talking, unaccenting my worries. I daresay discarding them all together.

Acknowledge Subject NO NAME. Would you like to proceed with assessment?

I.. I don’t know what’s happening, but it’s got to be the reason I can’t move… And did it say Assessment? This is rather odd, and scary, but it’s not like I have some choices over this. Reluctantly, agreed with this and hoped for the best.
