Real time?
My numbed body started to slowly move again, gaining speed with every passing second. Everyone started moving again, actually... That was beyond unsettling... I need an explanation, for the love of God!
“Come now, Sir,” this voice... it’s the woman! I can understand now! B-But why? “I thought it was disrespectful to keep a lady waiting,” she taunted the knight.
“I’d love to humor you, Lady Nancy, but I’m not a fan of dying haplessly,” Nancy, as he called her, contort her already scary smile.
“Not that I’ll give you a Choice, Amanres Knight.”
At blinding speed, she closed the distance between them. Her terrifying hand barely scratched the knight as two sand soldiers stopped the hit. I fell to the ground just by the impression. I... I want to help him, but the difference in our powers is immeasurable. There should be something I can do... If only I knew how to use these skills the voice mentioned earlier...
Displaying Skill Set
Following this warning, a flouting screen appeared in front of me. What on...? Wait, I can see the skills. I quickly read them again and came up with an idea. I touched the one that seemed helpful and confirmed my thoughts.
Light: Regeneration
Call upon the power of the Ancient Entity of Light to heal the wounds of the target.
It also said that it consumed my mana progressively. Oh, I’ve heard that word before, in one of the fantasy books I read a long time ago. The rest is the incantation to learn the skill... This could work.
I dismissed the screen and run to the place the emerald guy crashed at. The debris covered part of his body, and he looked unconscious. I took off his helmet and I noticed he was a... well, a beautiful young man, with skin as black as the night, plump lips, a hair styled in intricated dreadlocks. I stood there, astonished by the handsome guy. A... Am I being aroused by him? Leo, you have some pressing matters. Focus.
I moved some blocks and noticed the blood emanating from his armor... It was a lot of blood. I don’t know if I have the luxury of taking off his vest. Should I try to cast the skill just like that? I can try. I put my hand where I thought was the wound. This better work.
“From the luminescent throne, where the power, just like a river, travers throughout the world. Congregate within our reach to fulfill your sacred duty. O, Ancient One, take the harm from the soul resting in the altar and cast it to the farthest confine of existence. Light: Restoration!”
This is the cheesiest, weirdest, more awkward thing I’ve said in my entire life... but it wasn’t in vain. As soon as the incantation began, a white light emanated from my hands. It was incredible how I felt the flow of energy, like thunder, reaching my palm and into the body of the man. I knew the magic was there but was it working? The knight was still unconscious after I used the skill. Seconds passed and my mind threated me with an anxiety attack.
Then, I heard a grunt. The emerald knight whined in pain as he woke up.
I... I did it! I used magic! But, man, am I not tired. Perhaps it’s my turn to pass out now. The knight rose his chest, confused.
“What...” He didn’t stay like that for too much, though. His keen eyes gathered as much information as they could and reached a conclusion. Whatever that is, I’m still clueless. “Are you one of the soldiers from the castle? That kind of magic...,” said the man.
I didn’t know how to react, if I’m completely honest. Part of it because I’m still processing all of this, part because I feel still intimidated by him.
“I don’t know what else I can do,” I just spoke out my mind. “I’m guessing we should escape but all I could come up with was to heal you... so we can escape?” O, God. I’m too nervous.
He just laughed at my incongruencies, cute. That cute was sarcasm, by the way.
“I think your guess was right. Only four of us remain... Help me up, it’s time to return to our Queendom.”
Invocations in the past brought chaos into the world. Althought, old magicians believed that it was the only way powerful and unique magic could be created to do their bidding. Nevertheless, when Leonard Sica was summoned, he found himself in the middle of a waging war between kingdoms. Scared and with no clue of what was happening, he discovered soon after that he could use Magic!
Making friends and adopting monsters using his own power called "Talent", he thought he needed to get back to his own world. Little he knew this road he chose was filled with hardships that would shake his resolve and make him question his own moral standards.
