"Oh little one, you're okay now?" Rowaald sat at table together with dad. I nodded and walked over to dad. He smiled at me and sat me on the chair next to him. "Kentil you're going to work today right? I heared that the monsters in this area became more active the past few days." Oh, work? What does dad work as?

"Yeah, but it seems like they are all weak monsters." He looked at me. "Still, it's worrying." They talked a bit about dad's work. It seems like dad is a guard. He has volunteered in the past and it seems like he has great talent with the sword. When his superiors noticed, they gave him a job as a guard at the gate. Usually people from the poor district aren't entrusted with any important jobs, but Rowaald apparently supported him. Rowaald seems to be an important person. Unfortunately, dad is paid below the minimum wage, but he still earns more than the rest in the poor district.

After they finished talking, Rowaald got up. "I should go now." He took his hat and put it on. He walked over to the door and smiled at me. "I hope you guys visit us soon."

"Goodbye Rowaald." Dad waved goodbye and got up too. "I have to go to work now. You want to come, Tia?" I jumped off of the chair and nodded.

"Honey!" Mom suddenly jumped up.

"Don't worry. Today I will only be standing at the gate. Nothing happens there anyway." He gave me a little jacket. I took it and put it on.

"Okay. Have fun Tia." She smiled at me and sat down again. I took dad's hand and we left the house. It was the first time I left the house since I got here. It was cold and misty ouside. There were many people walking around the streets. 

"Are you okay? Want me to carry you?" Dad looked at me. I shook my head and we continued walking. About 10 minutes passed until we arrived at the gate. It was a big gate with a kind of green swirl in it.

"What is that swirl inside of the gate?" I pointed at the gate. Suddenly a carriage came through the gate.

"Hm? That's a barrier to keep monsters from entering. Every town has one." That's interesting. I want to know how it works. "Hey Alfred!" Dad waved to a young man in armor.

"Kentil!" He smiled at dad. "Oh, who's that? Your daughter?" He knelt down and looked at me. "Hm." He nodded. "She looks exactly like you! My name is Alfred West. Nice to meet you!" He looked at me with a bright smile on his face.

"Stop it. You're scaring her." He picked me up and walked past Alfred.

"S-Scare...? B-But I'm a very kind guy! Little kids love me!" I think he's really a kind guy. But he talks much. Dad entered a room in front of the gate and opened a box. He took out an armor and put it on. When I looked to the left, I saw Alfred sitting on the floor. I walked over to him.

"I'm Tialis Hoen. Nice to meet you, sir Alfred!" He suddenly looked at me with a smile.

"W-What a nice girl you are." Huh? Why is he crying? "I-I'm sowwy." He drained the tears from his eyes. "Kentil! Is this really your daughter? She's such a nice girl!" What happened to him? Did I do something wrong? His face looks scary.

"Of course she is! That's what I meant. Look, you're scaring her." Alfred turned around and looked at me. He looked kind of sad. I think he has a problem with mood swings. He sat down again and took a deep breath.

"I did it again." He looked at the ground.

"Yes, you did." Dad took my hand and left the room. Alfred followed us. "Come sit down." Dad lifted me on a chair in front of the room. "You have to wait here okay? Dad has something to do." He patted my hair and pointed at Alfred. "Don't try anything weird with my daughter! Understood?"

"I would never do such a thing!" The two of them must be close friends. I smiled and dad left me with Alfred. "Say Tialis, is there something you want to do?" He sat down next to me on the ground. Something I want to do? I looked around until I saw the sword on his hip.

"I want to learn how to use a sword!" I pointed on his sword. He got up and looked at me.

"A sword? Aren't you a bit young?" He took a close look at me. "Wait a moment." He entered the room again. I waited for a few seconds and he came back with a short sword in his hands. "That should work." He smiled at me and gave me the sword. "How is it? Try to pull it out." I pulled it out of the sheath. Even though it was short, It was still a bit heavy. "Try to do this." He held his sword above his head and swung it straight down. He did it a few times and then I tried to do it too. "Yes that's good!" He smiled at me. He continued to show me a few sword swings. 

I hope one day I can really fight with the sword. Even if he said I did it good, I just couldn't swing the sword properly. "Hey, what are you doing?" Dad came back and looked at us. "Tia, you're learning how to use a sword?" He smiled at me. The time passed and we went back. 

"See you, Tia!" Alfred looked at us. We got closer over the day. He even calls me Tia now. On our way we saw many people. I know I already said that this morning, but there were more this time. I think that's because they all go home from work now. When we arrived home mom was sitting at the table. 

"You're back. Come sit down, dinner's ready." She smiled at us. We took off our jackets and sat down with her at the table. "How was you day? Did you have fun Tia?"

I nodded and smiled at her. "It was fun! Alfred taught me how to use a sword."

After the sun went sown I looked at the stars again. While I was looking at the stars, I realized that I had never seen the moon of this world. What does it look like? 

Later, mom came to bring me to bed. That night it happened again, I had a nightmare. It was the same as last night but still, I wasn't able to remember the content. I woke up and lived my life with my parents. Alfred taughted me a little sword fighting and like this, a month passed.
