Chapter 14: Road Trip (Part 2)

Driving in a sleeply road at South Luzon Expressway (Troll Road), beside me, Jayen was lisenning to music with his earphones, at the backseat Abel on the Left door at my back he was reading something on his phone while Calix, Trixie and Analyn is Sleeping.
“Take a right there.” Pointing on the right side of the car.
“Okay.” Taking a right turn.
“Are we close?” Abel asked.
“We’re 45 minutes close.” Jayen said.
“I’m going to sleep, wake me up if we are already there.” Leaning his head on Analyn shoulders.
“Okay.” Jayen said.
After 10 minutes of driving I asked Jayen, “Jayen, what will we do when the park is closed.”
“Small Problem, we’re going in.” Jayen said, smirking.
“How? Isn't it close?” I curiously asked.
“We're going to trespass 'People's Park in the sky'.”Jayen said with a big smile.
“Interesting.” I chuckled, “Is there any Restaurant near? I’m quite hungry”
“Wait let me see.” He looked at his phone, “ In Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road there is a mini restaurant.”
“let’s order food there and take out and eat in the park.” I said, driving
“That good.” Jayen said looking at the road and his phone, “Take a left there.”
I take a left, “Where allready Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road.” Said Jayen.
“Over there.” Jayen said.
I park the car in front of a restaurant amd leave the car, “Jayen, asked them if what they want to eat.” I said
“Okay, but asks for a menu,we’ll wait here.” He leans at the car.
I go in the restaurant and askes the waiter for the menu, He said wait for a few minutes, while waiting I sit on the chair near me,the restaurant seems popular because their so many people eating even it’s already late, A minute later the waiter gives me the Menu.
longganisa is a Filipino fresh sausage made with minced meat, garlic, onion, soy sauce, muscovado sugar, salt, vinegar, and black pepper.
The Ensaimada is a pastry product from Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. It is a common cuisine eaten in Southwestern Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia. The first written references to the Mallorcan ensaïmada date back to the 17th century.
Adobo is a Philippine dish of fish or meat usually marinated in a sauce containing vinegar and garlic, browned in fat, and simmered in the marinade.
Daing na Bangus refers to milkfish that is marinated in a mixture composed of vinegar, crushed peppercorn, garlic, and salt.
Tuyo refers to dried fish from the Philippines. Fish prepared as daing are usually split open, gutted, salted liberally, and then sun and air-dried. There are also "boneless" versions which fillets the fish before the drying process.
In Mexican cuisine, Menudo, also known as pancita or mole de panza, is a traditional Mexican soup, made with cow's stomach in broth with a red chili pepper base. Hominy, lime, onions, and oregano are used to season the broth.
An embutido, enchido or embotits is a generic term for sausages found in Spain, Portugal, the Philippines, and Central and South America. It generally contains hashed meat, generally pork, seasoned with aromatic herbs or spices that is served wrapped in the skin of the pig's intestines.
Mais con yelo is a layered dessert consisting of sweet corn, shaved or crushed ice, sweet milk, and a scoop of ice cream. Ice cream flavor varies, but it usually served with corn ice cream, cheese ice cream (queso), or a corn cheese ice cream (mais queso).
Leche Flan is the Filipino variation of Creme Caramel. Even though the name is literally translated as Milk Flan, it is actually a heavy custard made from condensed milk. Traditionally made for celebrations and feasts, it is usually steamed instead of baked.
Halo-halo, is a popular cold dessert in the Philippines made up of crushed ice, evaporated milk or condensed milk, and various ingredients including: ube, sweetened beans, coconut strips, sago, gulaman (agar), pinipig rice, boiled taro or soft yams in cubes, slices or portions of fruit preserves and other root crop preserves, flan, and often topped with a scoop of ube ice cream. Halo-halo is considered to be the unofficial national dessert of the Philippines.
Turon, dusted with brown sugar, rolled in a spring roll wrapper and fried. Other fillings can also be used together with the banana, most commonly jackfruit (langka), and also sweet potato, mango, cheddar cheese and coconut. Turon is a popular snack and street food amongst Filipinos.
Buko pandan salad, usually anglicized as young coconut salad, is a Filipino fruit salad dessert made from strips of fresh young coconut with sweetened milk or cream and various other ingredients. It is one of the most popular and ubiquitous Filipino desserts served during celebrations and fiestas.
A macaroon is a small cake or cookie, typically made from ground almonds, coconut or other nuts, with sugar and sometimes flavorings, food coloring, glacé cherries, jam or a chocolate coating – or a combination of these or other ingredients. Some recipes call for sweetened condensed milk.
