“Hi, I’m Austin. I’m an idiot.”
“Allison, glad to meet you. And she’s Sara” she said as she highlighted her dog. I instantly fell onto my knees, so I can play with this little corgi. “Do you come here frequently?” I asked
“Oh, no! Today was an exception. I got into a fight with my mom and needed to get a little far away from that harmful energy.”
“I’m sorry to hear that” I said while Sara was licking my whole face. “I hope you guys will solve things out.”
As she grinned, her adorable little face was taken cover behind the long blonde strings. “I hope so too. Are you here often?”
My cheeks immediately pumped thanks to my smirk. “I guess so, yes. Sometimes I like to write some stories and a plane field is where I can let my thoughts go wild.”
“I do
like to take Sara on a stroll in this park.”
Quietness...
Just an exchange of heartbeats at the shadow of a big tree.“I have to go. I hope I’ll see you another day.” She said and went off through the grass. My eyes couldn’t separate from the picture of her. When she suddenly stopped, my heart did the same. Over the shoulder, she shouted right in my direction “and just so you know, I’m an idiot too”.
Not a lot went by until we went already on our first date.
“Oh my God, I think I’m going to fucking melt”
“How come?” she asked. “I think I can see you sweat tho…”
“That’s because I fucking hate the summer!”
Her eyes largely opened after hearing what I just said. “I didn’t expect that, but I must admit, for me the winter is a really cruel time. Don’t really like it…”
“You don’t like the winter? But you like the summer? Goodness, well… I guess people with bad taste must exist on the same planet as us who knows what the good things really are.” I teased her and won a brutal shoulder in my arm.
We spent our first date on a picnic, where I got to taste all of her delightful bakes and pies. She told me about her mom and how they used to have a really healthy relationship over the years, but things got complicated, and now one toxic habit is arguing every day. We chatted about each other’s school, our favorite classes (English is the glad winner for both of us).
“So, mister writer, what was the weirdest place you have ever put something on paper?”
“I can’t tell you.”
“What? Why?”
“Because I have to show you.” And so our second date was born. We went on the train rail right next to my neighborhood. Foot by foot I hold her hand while she was seeking balance. “This makes me feel free”, she told me watching the sunset on her way to catch it while standing on her tip toes.
“I guess so…” I hesitated.
“What do you mean?”
“You probably think I came here to take advantage of this feeling.”
“Is not that true?”
“Not exactly. I was writing a horror story at some point one year ago when I encountered this idea of a really intense and aggressive scene. The only problem is that I don’t really go out that much and making friends is kind of my weakness, so I never experienced such an intense fear ever before.”
“I don’t like where this is going.”
“So I came here, I prepared my pen and my papers, sat down and waited for a train to come. Hearing it was what triggered me to write. The nearer it got, the more I panicked.”
Her hand was all over her mouth while her eyebrows told me she was really scared. “Austin…”
“I was fine, tho.” I continued. “Had the chance to complete my scene pretty quick,” and afterward a smile showed up. Talking about those experiences with someone really made me feel things I never felt before.
The 3rd date was the peak for me, when touching her
lips with mine made me sure I adore her. I felt the warmth of her body as the
thunder light touched our faces, standing on the lake sided bench.
When I opened my eyes, hers were already looking into mine. “I’m an idiot” I whispered and lost myself in her ways.
