They got even more worried that day because, for the first time in my life, I began to listen in class. I was thinking that if I kept my mind busy I wouldn't change into a wolf. As if my situation couldn't get worse, Andy couldn't stop looking at me every few minutes. I could hear the pulsations of all the students in the room, especially the ones I was paying the most attention to. The heart of my dark haired neighbor in my History class was beating in a calm and rhythmic movement which was quite the opposite of mine.
Since he and his band had looked at me, the pulsations of my heart were distraught. Yet, Lana, Roy, Sylvie, Jack, Thomas, Louis and Michael insisted less than their "boss" when they put their eyes on my back to stare at me. I couldn't repress a slight shiver just before the bell rang to announce the end of classes. I could finally breathe, my day was gone without worries and I could finally go home to clear everything with myself or rather with my inner wolf. I walked through the streets that were leading to my house with vigilance. At a turning point, I flattened myself against the wall and closed my eyes.
A person was following me. I could hear him at the sound of his footsteps even if it was a light sound. I was tense and I was worried that it was another wolf trying to kill me. I swallowed my saliva before opening my eyes while holding my breath. I could only let out a slight cry of surprise at the sight of Andy in front of me. His beautiful chocolate eyes plunged into mine. His musky and spicy smell disturbed my sense of smell; it became really sensible these past few days. I felt irresistibly attracted to him, more than usual, and I had to restrain myself from jumping on him. The beating of my heart went crazy at the only sight of his presence. The wolf that was now a part of my body wanted to snuggle in his arms.
It took all of my good will not to make such a stupid gesture. My blue eyes slowly grew larger in front of this guy as I was trying my best to resist him.
Andy's chocolate eyes turned into a perfect amber color and I had to bit the bottom of my lip as to not succumb to the charm that was coming off him. He took a step in my direction, standing tall and proud. Yet, he seemed quite frustrated and I couldn't understand why. What could frustrate him? It was a good question but I think I would know the reason soon enough. Why did he start to follow me so suddenly for no reasons when he was so distant before? Despite the two years spent in the same class as him, I suddenly realized that I knew absolutely nothing about him except that he was very sexy and that a big part of the girls in high school were in love with him. Probably some guy, as myself, as well. As far as I knew, he never had a relationship with any one of them.
"Ethan, are you alright? There's this strange look into your eyes." He asked in a hoarse voice.
"I... I don't know you... And... I was sure your eyes... I was sure they were chocolate but... They aren't right now..." I replied, hesitantly lowering my eyes.
"Let's say that my eyes change color according to my mood..." Andy continued, without breaking the eyes contact. "Tell me, where were you yesterday? You ran away without saying anything to anymore. Your friends were very worried. It could have been dangerous. If something had happened to you, nobody would have known about it."
The power he exuded made me tremble and he must have noticed it because he was now frowning. He also took a step back and was waiting for my reaction to this gesture. I had to put all of my will not to let my legs fall under the weight of this strange force. Luckily for me, the attraction went away a little when he made this movement and I finally began to relax.
"I... I was running in the forest... I needed it..." I whispered, thinking fast.
"By any chance, were you running in the Hagondange forrest?" Asked the brown man with a raised eyebrow.
I was looking for excuses but the wolf in me pushed me to tell the truth to this man that I knew but who also was so unknown to me. I was sure I crossed him outside the school but I couldn't remember where and under which conditions. In any case, the animal I was sheltering seemed very interested in Andy and it seemed very strange to me. I had to control myself and, if someone could see inside my head at that moment, that person would make fun of me. Indeed, my psychological state wasn't at its best.
I usually wasn't like that in front of guys. I was much more direct and sure of myself, except for the guys I was attracted to. It was surely the events of these last few days that had upset me so much.
"Yes, why?" I asked, more sure of myself and staring intently into his eyes.
"Just like that, out of curiosity... You know, the forest isn't really safe at the moment with this black wolf prowling in the woods..." He said, glancing at me after looking at an imaginary point far away behind me.
"A... Black... Wolf..." I articulated, trembling without being able to control myself.
"Yes. A black wolf called Raven." Andy continued before letting me more room to breath and move. "It's alright... I know who you are now.... Little wolf. You better be careful, after all, a lone wolf with no pack attract lots of dominant wolves." He added with a dark grin.
"Why did you call me Little wolf? And what are you talking about? I don't understand what it is all about right now!" I retorted, pretending to be surprised.
"I know what you are but it's not the moment to speak about it. Another time, maybe. For the moment, I have something else to do than taking care of you. I have another important mission to accomplish." He finished before taking a step forward.
"You don't know anything and what you are saying is nonsense. Frankly, I don't see why I'm talking to you, you're wasting my time." I answered back, glaring at him.
"You have a strong character but don't forget that you are in front of an Alpha." He whispered into my ear with a menacing tone. "A wolf should lower his eyes as a sign of submission."
"I won't submit to you so stop it with your threats! They don't frighten anyone!" I exclaimed with a grunt.
"We will see in a while." He growled to himself then said it out loud. "I can explain to you some things but at one condition... That you come to find me in the forest after school, tomorrow. If unfortunately you don't come, I would have to come and pick you up myself. I would need to check a few things first. If you want to know the truth, join my pack on your own free will. I wouldn't want to force you. It would be a pity to stain such a beautiful white fur, wouldn't it?"
My eyes flashed daggers at him and his menacing gaze did not soften, on the contrary. Honestly, who did he think he was? He lost himself for a few moments in his thoughts and took one last look at the forest before disappearing into a nearby alley. Before he left, I could see a strange gleam in his eyes but, to be honest, I had no idea what it meant. I was feeling like I was relearning how to breath. Has I been holding my breath this whole time? From his arrival to his departure? He knew who I was and his eyes seemed familiar to me. His eyes had an amber color like the wolf of the day before that saved me from this black monster.
Would it be possible for him to also be a wolf? And from what he had just told me, he was an Alpha. Each wolf owed obedience, respect and submission to this kind of animal of this rank. At least that was what Mrs Cannac said at the beginning of the year. I was feeling like my entire life of high school had just started as it was the only thing that I remembered from her class. An Alpha... A pack leader... That was probably why he did not appreciate my very spontaneous behavior and that he did not like it when I didn't lower my eyes or didn't back down in front of him.
What kind of shit did I get into? Slowly but surely, I went back to my house and saw that my mother wasn't back home yet. I lived alone with her as my father died a few years ago of an unknown disease that no one could identify yet. When I entered I immediately went upstairs. I put my bag and jacket on my bed and automatically headed to my bathroom: it was a habit, even when I had nothing to do in that room, I always went in it. A strange odor was floating in the air. It did not bother me but, on the contrary, it seemed suspicious.
I did not remember buying this indoor deodorant for my room. I shrugged, this scent was strangely similar to Andy's scent but was more spicy and more violent. I felt all of my muscles relax until a shiver ran down my back. A strange sensation that I had already felt a few days ago gave me goose bumps.
I turned my gaze to the open window and sighed. Once again I had forgotten to close the window before going to school in the morning. It was certainly the reason I felt suddenly cold. I may have had a dream. After closing it properly, I went to my bathroom to put warm water on my face. Once I was done, I went back to my room to look for something in my closet. While I was digging, a new wave of worry came to me. I felt like a force was pulling me toward it. This time, this sensation woke the wolf that was sleeping in me.
I turned around and, in a hurry, I fell against the wall that was behind my back. I was sitting on the floor, painfully holding my ass with my left hand. My eyes stopped on my black armchair that was in a dark corner of the room. A person was sitting in it and seemed to be waiting for something or someone. How did this person enter my room? My window was closed and the door to my room was also closed. The person stood up at the same time as myself. I was pressed against the wall and tried to stay as far as possible from him but the attraction he exerted on me was strong. Really strong.
When he emerged from the shadows, I could see his rather thin face, his muscular body, his black messy hair and his eyes... His eyes were red. The color of the blood. The same eyes as the ones of the wolf who had transformed me a few days ago in the forest. He was walking toward me and he was dominating me by his size, almost thirty centimeters longer than my size as I was only five feet tall. The beating of my heart was going crazy and my inner wolf was ready to take my place to get out of this bad situation, just in case. He must have been about three years older than me from what I could tell. But he made me shiver, just like Andy.
The power that was coming off him was as intoxicating as the Alpha that I had met earlier in the evening but it was also much darker and more threatening. When he stopped, I could feel his breath on my face and I was feeling completely paralyzed. I had the feeling that, in a certain way, I was related to him, but I couldn't understand why. When our eyes met, my legs shifted under my weight as if they couldn't carry me anymore. Before I had time to fall on the floor, he caught me and pinned my wrists above my head against the wall.
He hadn't been gentle. The force he exerted on my hands made me wince in pain and you could easily see it on my face. He seemed to find the situation funny and tried to restrain himself from laughing. I stared at him, anger in my eyes, despite the deep pain in my wrists. I hated this kind of guy who was enjoying the suffering of others. Even more when it was mine.
"Don't forget that you belong to me and only me, little wolf." Said the red eyed man with a sweet voice.
"I belong to no one. Not you and not Andy. I belong to myself and only myself." I hissed, trying to free myself. "I don't even know what you want from me!"
"Andy, uh?" He smirked before tightening his hold. "So, he already guessed that you had changed... What did he tell you?"
"You have no rights to know that!" I exclaimed while glaring at him. "Let me go..."
"Since you have already met Andy, he must have told you to pay attention to your words when you are in front of an Alpha. I can imagine the look on his face when he saw you were a guy and that he received no sign of submission in return. Now, I will tell you nicely: watch the way you speak to me." He growled in a threatening voice.
I couldn't stop the hiccup of surprise that came out of my mouth. Another Alpha? Damn it! Did I attract them or what? That may have been why his power and his smell were already familiar to me. They looked a lot like Andy's. One of the last words of Andy came back to my mind "after all, a lone wolf without a pack attracts the dominant wolves".
Seeing that I had calmed down, he resumed more calmly but with a voice more sonorous and authoritarian than before. "I'm asking you the question once again. What did this little, stupid wolf told you?" He questioned as he put his red pupils back into my eyes. I felt like he could read my thoughts.
"Nothing..." I replied before surrendering because of the pressure he was putting on my wrists. "He asked me to join his pack... Willingly or by force..."
"Always the same... Andy will not steal my prey, not this time... I've hunted for too long..." He said to himself before releasing me. "You are a little wolf, don't forget it. That bite was from me. Since that moment, you belong to me, don't forget it. I'll come and get you in a few days whether you like it or not... At that moment, I would advise you not to resist too much. I wouldn't want it to degenerate. Until then, don't get close to Andy. If I see you running around him or if I see him running around you, you will have a very bad time. By the way... He must have warned you against me. You will send him a message. You can choose which method to send that message but you can't speak to him. You will tell him that, in the future, Raven, the big, bad, black wolf will kill him with his fangs."
