Astrid’s POV

Blayne laughs at me, “some witches develop special powers. When I first saw your black eyes I was a bit confused, but it makes sense now. Whenever you use your powers your eyes will turn black.” he explains. “Makes sense I guess. Any idea what powers I could have?” I ask. He scratches his head, “I actually have no idea, I have never seen silver spirals before.” I frown at his response. “Is there any way to find out?” He thinks about it for a moment, “I have a friend that might be able to help! I’ll give her a call.” He walks out of the living room. 

I stay in the room with Alec, who is still staring at me. I was about to say something but he beats me to it. “Take your shirt off.” I was a bit surprised, “Um, what? why?” I ask. He sighs, “Just take it off!” I roll my eyes but do it anyway. I pull my shirt off and his mouth drops open. I feel my face get hot, “Why are you staring at me like that?” He clears his throat, “The swirls are stunning, it looks like they cover your entire body.” I close my eyes not wanting to look at myself, “are they all silver?” I ask. “No they are silver and black.” Huh, I wonder what that means. I can feel him staring at me and I blush again. He laughs a little, “your so beautiful Astrid.” He walks up to me and kisses me. “I love you.” he says “I love you too.” 

“What do you think I should do if someone asks about them?” He thinks about it, “Just say they are tattoos.” I look at him doubtfully, “would anyone really believe that?” I laugh. “Well, most people are stupid now a days so I don’t see why not.” he chuckles. I smack him on the chest causing him to grunt, “what was that for?” “Because you're so mean!” I answer. He fakes being shocked, “I’m right though!” I smirk at him, “sure keep thinking that and maybe it will become true!”  He grabs me and starts to tickle me, I start laughing and we fall over. Blayne walks back into the living room, I quickly put my shirt back on and look at him.  “Uh, what are you doing?” he asks.

“Just having some fun,” I answer. “Is your friend coming over?” I ask. He clears his throat, “yeah, she will be here in a little while. I nod my head, we all sit on the couch to watch TV. 

Half an hour later

We hear a knock on the door.  Blayne gets up and answers it, he comes back into the living room with his friends. I look her over, she has jet black hair and icy violet eyes. She is very pretty, I notice Blayne is looking at her with love. “Hey guys, this is Kassy. Kassy, that's Astrid and Alec.” 

“Nice to meet you,” Alec and I say at the same time, causing us both to laugh. I look at her again and notice that she has spirals like me! “You have red and blue spirals!” I just about yelled. She laughs quietly, “I have special powers like you do.” she says. “What kind of powers?” 

“I have an affinity for fire and water. That is why they are red and blue.” I nod , completely amazed. “What does affinity mean?” Alec asks her. “Just an easier word to use for special power.” she answers. He nods “so do you know what affinity Astrid might have?” She looks at me, “I would need to see more of the spirals on her body to know that?” I frown, “does that mean i need to take my shirt off again?” I ask. “Yes you do.” Kassy answers. I hear Alec say awesome under his breath so I smack him again. He gave me that innocent look but I ignore him. I reluctantly take my shirt off again so Kassy can see the spirals. 

As she was looking, Nelo walks into the living room, “hey gu….wow.” He stares at me, I just look at him awkwardly not knowing what to do. He finally looks away and clears his throat, “so uh, who's the chick?” he asks. “I’m Kassy, Blaynes friend, nice to meet you.” she says. He was about to say something else when I hear Alec growl, “get out Nelo!”

 Kassy looks annoyed, “I have a much better idea.” Alec turns his glare on her, “what’s that?” Kassy matches his glare, “Everyone but Astrid and I get the fuck out!” He was about to protest but I growl, “Go!” He scoffs and walks out with Nelo and Blayne.

Kassy sighs and seems relieved that it was only us, “about damn time they left,” she says. “They are all stubborn,” I laugh. She glances at me, “Not to seem mean or judgey but Alec seems like an asshole.’  I nod, “he can be but he is also very sweet.” It looks like she didn’t believe me, but she didn’t say anything else about it. She starts to look at my spirals again. After a few minutes she gasps and covers her mouth. “That’s impossible!”  I look up at her confused. “What power do I have?” I ask. She looked at me, “Not just one power, you have an affinity to control all 4!” I was in utter shock, I have no idea how I didn’t fall over. “Is that even possible?” 

 “It is, it’s just extremely rare. This has only happened once and that was centuries ago. All  information about it was lost through the years, there's almost nothing left.” she explains to me. I just stand there not knowing what to do or say. I put my shirt back on and she tells the guys it’s okay to come back into the living room. Alec comes to my side and looks at me with a worried expression, I guess I don’t look too good.   “Did you find out what her power is?” Blayne asks. “Not one, but an affinity for all 4!” Blaynes mouth drops open, “what!!!” 

Alec looks confused, “what does that mean?” he asks. Blayne looks at him, “it means she is able to control fire, water, earth and air! “ He looks at Kassy, “I never thought it was possible!” She looks at him. “Babe, how are you feeling with all of this?” Alec asks. I look at him, “Fine, I guess. I don’t feel any different.” Blayne and Kassy come over to me, “You will need to learn how to use and control  your powers.” he tells me, I nod. “You are powerful, if you aren’t careful you could hurt someone, but Blayne and I will be here to help you.” Kassy tells me, I nod and smile at both of them, happy they will be there to help me.

I look at Blayne, “Can I talk to you in the kitchen for a minute?” I ask him. He nods and we walk to the  kitchen. “Do you like Kassy?” I ask. He looks at me shocked for a second but answers, “yes i do.” I smile, “then why don’t you ask her out?” 

 He looks away for a second, “I don’t know if she likes me, I don’t want to ruin our friendship.” I shake my head at him... I start to feel weird but I ignore it. “Go for it Blayne, you don’t want to miss out on something that could be amazing!” He nods his head in agreement. He looks at me a little worried, “are you okay Astrid, you look pale?” he asks. I wave at him, “I'm fine!” We walk out and I suddenly feel really dizzy again, I feel myself falling over but Blayne grabs me. “Astrid!” I stand back up, “I'm fine!! I’m just gonna go lay down,” I tell him. He looks unsure but says okay. I go upstairs as he goes into the living room. 

 Blayne goes over to Kassy, “hey Kassy, can I ask you something?” She looks up at him, “sure.” He takes a deep breath, “will you go out with me?” She stares at him for a few seconds then jumps on him and kisses him. She pulls away, “of course.” 

 Nelo and Alec walk in. “awe, you guys are cute,” Nelo says. Blayne looks away embarrassed. “Did you just make it official?” Alec asks. “Yup!” Kassy answers. Alec looks around and notices I wasn’t there, “hey where is Astrid?”  

Upstairs

I go into my room and sit down on the bed. What the heck is wrong with me, I never pass out like that. I suddenly feel nauseous, I get up and run to the bathroom and throw up. I hope no one hears me. I get up after what feels like forever, I was about to go lay down when I see my unopened box of tampons. How long has it been, “Oh fuck! No no no no no, this is not happening.” I collapse on the floor crying, I cannot be pre… pregnant. 

Meanwhile, downstairs

“Was someone throwing up? Alec asks, confused. “It might be Astrid, she just about passed out while we were in the kitchen.” Blayne tells him. “I can go check on her.” Kassy suggests. She is about to go up to see me, but I come out making her stop.  I walk down the stairs, tears still streaming down my face, one of my biggest fears has come true. Alec rushes over to me, “Astrid, what’s wrong?” he asks. I wanted to say it, but I couldn’t get the words out, I know he would be so angry. So I bolted out the door and ran as fast as I could, until I couldn’t hear Alec anymore. 

Kassy’s P.O.V

Alec sighs in frustration, “what am I supposed to do?” We all look at him unsure of what to say. “Want me to go talk to her?” I offer. He looks at me, “If you wouldn’t mind. I just wanna make sure she is okay.” I nod and run after Astrid. I feel like I've been running for an hour trying to find her, I finally come to where her scent stops, I can tell she is here. “Astrid, I know you're here. Please come out and talk to me!”  I hear a growl “go away, i want to be alone.”

I sigh, “I am not going anywhere, so come out and talk to me!” I hear something move and Astrids comes out. She is still crying, “please just go and leave me alone!” I walk over to where she is, “please tell me what's wrong.”

“Why should I? You just meet me, why do you even care?” Despite her angry words she looks sad, “well your Blayne’s sister and you and I are meant to be best friends! I want to be there for you Astrid.” She was about to say something but she starts throwing up again. “Why are you…” I stop myself from asking when I see her arms covering her stomach. She looks up at me and I know what's wrong before she says it, “I'm pregnant.” she whispers as she falls to her knees and starts crying again.

I close the distance between us and hug her until she calms down. “Are you going to tell Alec?” I ask . She takes a deep breath trying to calm her nerves. “I know I need to, but I can’t, he won’t take it well. Neither of us want this!” she starts crying again so I hug her, “I will help you tell him, it’s not good to just avoid the situation. Why don’t we go back?” I suggest. She nods and I help her get up and we walk back. 

Back at the house, Astrid P.O.V

As soon as Kassy and I are in the house  Alec comes over to me, “thank god you're okay, what’s going on?” he asks. I ignore him and walk over to Kassy, he looks at her, “what is going on!” he says, I can tell he is getting frustrated so I hide behind Kassy more.

 “You sure you want to know?” Kassy asks him with an emotionless expression. He runs his hand through his hair, “yes, I want to know!” Kassy looks at Blayne, “Grab him and hold him, he won’t take this very well.” Blayne nods and grabs him. 

Alec growls, “what..is..going...on!” Kassy stares at him before answering. “She is pregnant.” she states simply. “WHAT!!” Alec screams. He struggles to get away from Blayne but isn't able to. “How did this happen, we were so careful. I don’t want a stupid fucking kid!”  Blayne looks at him in shock, “how could you say that!!” Kassy glares at him, “what the hell is wrong with you! You know she is upset and yet you say some stupid shit like that!” she slaps him hard, he spits blood on the floor and growls at her. 

Well they were all too busy arguing with each other to pay any attention to me, I made my choice.  I know doing this could kill me because I haven't fed, I grab a silver knife and stab myself in the stomach a few times. I stand there and watch the blood as it dips to the floor. I think to myself, he doesn’t want a stupid kid then i’ll make sure he doesn’t. I feel my legs give out and I fall to the ground with a loud thud. I suddenly felt all eyes on me as everything around me starts to fade,  “Astrid!” Alec screams. I feel him grab me and hold me in his arms, my blood seeping around us and soaking him. I look up and see tears running down his face, I just stare at him blankly, “I did this for you!” I whisper before everything turns black.
