CHAPTER 4
A VISIT TO THE JOHNSON SPACE CENTER IN HOUSTON
Today at Louis’s science class a NASA engineer named Dr. Ronald Hodges came to talk about how rockets are launched, how astronauts live in zero gravity and other science stuff. Dr. Ronald Hodges was a friend of Mr. Carter.
“Hello! I am Dr. Ronald Hodges and I am a NASA engineer. Now you must be thinking how one of the friends become a NASA engineer and one become a teacher? Because one of them was busy studying and the other one was busy chasing girl.” Mr. Hodges said and smirked. Mr. Carter’s was embarrassed for remembering a memory of years ago which he forgot but he tried to hide it and said “to be noted they were all 18+.”
“Does anyone has any question regarding space and our rocket launches?” Louis raised his hand asked “I want to say something regarding your last rocket launch failure.” Mr. Hodges allowed him to say and then Louis gave all kind of sciences and other math to tell Mr. Hodges about how the project failed. Then, Mr. Hodges said “I see your point but it is a baseless theory and it’s useless. Anyways thanks.” Louis was really angry for three reasons: 1) Mr. Hodges lied about having a base because his theory was totally correct 2) He ignored and gave him a lousy badge of NASA 3) He started talking about how astronauts go to toilet which literally everyone knows. He was so mad that he went home and told his mother about it. His mother knew that he was very mad and it’s hard for him to adjust in high school at a young age. So she told him that “You need to calm down. We will do something about it” But then he went out and had his tantrum by swearing “Poopity poop!” That’s when memaw heard him and said to Carly “Can you at least teach the boy to swear? He is embarrassing me” Do you think his so-called “tantrum” was over? If you were thinking that then it’s wrong! Louis has a habit that when he is angry he cleans. Yeah, it’s very unusual habit. He started by cleaning windows. When his family saw his monthly tantrum they all shook their heads. They were tired of this tantrum. So, after his tantrum was over in an hour. His mother and father asked him what happened and when he told everything, his parents told something that Louis was grateful for his rest of his life. His parents had decided to take him in Houston’s Johnson space center to give Mr. Hodges a piece of his mind.
Louis is a extraordinary intelligent 9 year old boy who lives in East Texas of US. Besides being a smart boy and knowing everything, he is a very shy introvert who is extremely hygienic and lacks in outdoor and physical activities. Will he be able to survive high school at a young age and fit in his country where football and church is more superior then knowledge? This book is eligible for all age groups including teens and adults
