“No, no, please Tsurugi-san. I have been most unbecoming to you and I wish to rectify the situation in any way I possibly can! And well, this is the best I can do.”
Sakura rolled her eyes. The way this guy spoke and acted was just too much.
“Look! I even got you these different headphones so you can block out anyone annoying you as you study!”
He pulled out a pair of over-the-ear style and ear buds. They were both pink. How dare he assume that she liked pink just because she was a girl?
Ignoring the fact that it was, in fact, her favorite color.
And ok yes, maybe she was wearing a pink dress today.
Tamaki continued to pull item after item out of the bags. There were notebooks, pencils, pens, a reusable water bottle, a blanket—in case she got cold while studying in the library, he explained—, and just so much that Sakura was honestly overwhelmed. And then, the final item he pulled out, from a bag that didn’t appear to be from the school bookstore, was a small bear. She stared at it and then Tamaki.
“What the hell.”
It was less a question and more a statement. Tamaki’s cheeks turned a soft pink and he looked down, a sheepish look on his face.
“Well, I saw it in this antique store window and just…I don’t know. It spoke to me. I felt like maybe it could bring you good luck.”
Sakura could not believe this guy. What was he on? Did he think this was cute? Was this how he hoped to pick up girls or something?
She stared at the bear. It was…really cute. And looked very soft. She certainly didn’t hate it. Just the guy holding it.
Ok, maybe hate was strong. Then again, maybe it wasn’t.
But…it was so cute.
“I-If you don’t like it, I can give it to Honey. She does enjoy her toys…”
Sakura glanced down and saw Honey staring intently at the bear.
She was definitely going to tear it apart the moment she was given the signal.
And that just seemed unfair to the poor, adorable, little stuffed toy. It wasn’t meant for dogs. It didn’t deserve to get destroyed!
Sighing, Sakura reached and took the plush.
It was very soft. And so cute. She couldn’t help when she hugged it to her chest.
“Ok, fine. I will accept your gifts and will refrain from calling you creepy…out loud. And, you’re forgiven for everything.”
Tamaki looked positively delighted but Sakura wasn’t done.
“But listen well, if I catch you following me or suddenly appearing in places—basically if you wind up stalking me—I will not hesitate to kick your ass. Got it?”
He paled a bit, hearing Sakura’s threat and knowing that she absolutely meant it. He nodded slowly.
“I would not forgive myself if I did anything to make you or anyone else feel uncomfortable. Please rest assured that I will not stalk you. But ah, I do also attend school here so if I suddenly appear somewhere you are, I promise it’ll be a coincidence!”
“It better be.”
