“Hey, can your brother model one of my pieces next weekend? I’ll pay him of course.
“You don’t need to ask if you offer to pay. But I’ll double-check that he’s got time. He’s gotten considerably busier since he’s been dating Suzu.”
Aya looked up, grinning, “Are you jealous of Saku-san?”
“HA! Never.”
“Uh-huh.”
Sakura huffed, “Suzu is attractive, yes, and we’ve been over this. But I’m not jealous of Saku.”
The thought of being jealous of Saku was a bit absurd. They were so completely different that there was no reason. Both had their strengths and weaknesses but at the end of the day, they did everything to take care of each other.
Though, she had never seen Saku as happy as he was now that Suzu was in his life. And maybe, just maybe, she was a bit envious of that. But she was totally happy for him! After everything he sacrificed for her, he absolutely deserved it.
“Earth to Sakura-chan!” Aya waved her hand in Sakura’s face, getting her attention.
“Oh, sorry. Just got a little caught up in my thoughts.”
“Trying to convince yourself you’re not even just the slightest bit jealous?”
Sakura rolled her eyes, “Shut up. Are we going to get coffee or are you going to continue making absurd assumptions?”
Aya laughed, “Only if you promise to tell me why you have all those bags.”
“Oh god, Aya, this morning was insane. You’re not even going to believe it.”
They were at the coffee shop, Aya leaning over the table in awe as Sakura finished her story of that morning’s events.
“Can you freaking believe it?”
“Girl, that is some shoujo manga level bs.”
“Right?!”
Aya leaned back, picking up her drink and sipping, “So…was he at least hot?”
Sakura should have anticipated that question.
“You know that’s not something I pay a ton of attention to, Aya.”
“Please, you admitted earlier that your brother’s boyfriend was hot.”
“I said attractive, not hot.”
“Same thing.”
She shook her head, stabbing the piece of shortcake in front of her.
“What does it matter anyway? He was super weird. Oh! But look at how adorable Honey is!”
Sakura took out her phone, showing Aya all the pictures she took of Tamaki’s dog. Aya cooed at the pictures, snatching the phone at one particular image.
“Oh my god is this him??”
“What?”
Unknowingly, Sakura had apparently snapped a shot with Tamaki in it. She felt her cheeks flush at the fact she had been so unaware.
“Yeah…that’s him.”
Aya gave Sakura a look.
“Ok, so like given what you’ve told me, he is the appropriate amount of hot to crazy ratio.”
“Aya!”
The blonde laughed, “What? It’s totally true! And oh my god is that nanamica he’s wearing? Ugh, he’s got excellent taste.”
Sakura shook her head, “You’re more than welcomed to pursue him, Aya.”
“Mmm tempting. But I have this adorable little sales girl from the WEGO I’ve been hitting up. She’s very talented with—”
“Aya, please no.”
Aya laughed and finished off her drink, “I just think you should be a bit more open. You let things fizzle out with Rikuo, now’s a chance to actually pursue something new.”
“I’m not interested in relationships, I’m content enough with my projects. Besides, if I were to pursue anything, it would not be with an insane person.”
“I’d say he’s more eccentric than insane…”
“You weren’t even there!”
Sakura stood up, gathering her bags, “Anyway, discussion over. I have code to fix and then I need to get home before Saku leaves for the night.”
“Don’t forget about the job I have for him!”
“Send a picture of the looks and what you’re willing to pay. He’ll say yes, regardless, but you know how he can be.”
She waved and made her way across campus, once more cursing Tamaki and his now extremely cumbersome purchases.
