Sampson narrowed his eyes and grunted “what did your mother tell you about this trip?”  he ripped off a cooked coon leg and handed it to Kyu.

Kyu took the barely cooked recently killed raccoon leg with some trepidation but as they hadn’t eaten more then scavenged fruit all day it actually smelled pretty good. “She said I was old enough to go visit another uncle, that you don’t like people and live off the grid too, so to prepare myself for not having electricity. um will I get my electronics back?”

Sampson “ Uncels?”

Kyu looked at the ground and blushed a little “I’m sure you know what my mom did, she um has a lot of guy friends it’s just easier to call them all uncle”

Sampson “ My sister is a whore, that’s how it is for all werwolf’s, we can’t properly hold money, we sell our bodies. body guards, hard labor or prostitution our bodies are our only real asset….” that the kid was still ashamed  about the truths of the world, brought up more question then Vie not telling them that he was her brother. “sleep” he started the fine cleaning off the pelt. thinking through the impactions of a pup without an owner.

Kyu eat their food enjoying it more than they thought they would and sense Sampson hadn’t spoke after that cruel declaration of life, thought the better of talking more. so leaned the duffle against a tree and hugged it to them and tried to sleep.

Sampson was started out of focus when Kyu started talking in their sleep “mom don’t go, they aren’t nice to you stay here the bed is warm”  they were quiet for a time then started crying “Mom what happened, Please! Please let me call the doctor.”  

Sampson walked over and shook the kid awake for the first time seeing their face with out the huge glasses, that with bangs had hid equally large oddly familiar eyes. now over flowing with tears the kid understandably recoiled back against the tree pushed Sampson's hands away and putting the glasses on quickly. “was I talking in my sleep?”

Sampson looked at the kid for a long moment growled deep in his chest truly angry. it was a bone achingly frighting sound Kyu felt it in the ground beneath them.

Kyu “ oh, um, sorry, i don’t know what i said… i’m sorry if I offended you…”

Sampson looked off to the side getting his temper in check “ your too small, even for a runt why did she keep you…” he rocked back on his heals then looked back at the kid and sighed 

Kyu looking down again shaking a little. it seemed better to answer then die “Mom said I was her little miracle. Mis Yuki had her fixed when she took mom. so the fact that she had me its a incredibly rare fluke of surgery, that Yuki had truly fixed when she found out. however seeing as Yuki loved gambling so much she would always say I was “too full of luck to kill.” so they kept me at the manor and sometimes with them when Mis Yuki traveled but I was kept out of… business.”

Sampson “Go back to sleep.” 

Kyu watched Sampson brush off a spot across the fire lay out a tanned hid that was in the cart and laid down and was seemingly asleep. ‘what was this man, is he my new owner or is he brining me to my new owner?’ seeing him asleep Kyu berried their head in the duffel hoping to keep sleep talking from getting too loud and waking the man.

Just before sun rise Sampson looking down and kicked the duffel with the toe of his boot. ‘this kid was truly small for their kind but they smelled like Vie that was undeniable. half human maybe?'

Kyu woke slowly putting glasses on immediately looking around like they had been magicked to the forest  then seeing Sampson covering the fire. Kyu sat upright and cleared there through “em bathroom?”

Sampson Stood up looking at the kid tilting his head to the side. his tung cleaned his K9 fang and he squinted  a little as he thought 'This kid has never been in the woods, knows nothing about servile, living cloistered in the manor most his life.’ “Pick a tree, stay well away from any water… it may help to pick a spot with soft leafs for after.”

Kyu stood and started walking behind the tree they had slept against walk straight for as long as they could till another large tree stood in the way then marked the side of the tree they came from gathered some leaves then went about there business. quickly headed back to the camp that had almost completely ben erased. as soon as Kyu arrived Sampson began dragging the cart again. 

they had been walking for over an hour but it was only getting darker, the trees bigger and the woods quiet, like a secret you weren't supposes to learn. Kyu had been slowly trudging along behind, started speeding up till they were walking beside Sampson.

“um sir how much longer will we be walking”

a twig shaped just off to the left and Kyu jumped back into Sampson who just razed his eyebrow in amusement. 'how pathetic was this runt, so uncomfortable in the blackwoods.’ Sampson put his great hand on the kids shoulder standing them back up then gave a small chuckle and kept walking.

Kyu became more and more aware that something or things were watching them. it was so dark now no natural light was coming in. after a long while longer there was finally a faint light and there in a small clearing was what could barely be called a cabin.
