I bent down and let the light hedgehog roll off my hand. I stepped into the shadows and hid. The creature looked around and the blissful squealing stopped. It trembled. I had waited for this moment since I had found out that it shot four needles from its back into the distance if scared. One! Two! Three! Four! Perfect. Now I only had to strengthen it with my magic. “LUMINA!”

I clapped... Still no echo... But at least I could finally see something. In front of me sat three huge stone thrones, so tall that I couldn’t even glance at the cushions. That were easily 70 metres. However, I was sure nobody was sitting on them. Because, let’s be honest, if somebody were sat there, they would surely not have been pleased about me flooding the hall with light.

I picked up the light hedgehog and put it back into my pocket. Then, I moved towards the centre of the room. There, three lines met. Each had their origin in the corner of one of the thrones. They formed a triangle and encircled an insignia. That insignia was foreign to me. I reached into my right coat pocket and pulled out a map I had received from a merchant.

A shady fellow, in the middle of the city of Rosaria! I unfolded the map and then I saw it, the insignia! It stood for: Name!

I crumpled the map with my hands and launched into a small jump. I actually found it, the place of legend. That meant, this spell, this magical formula had to be true!

I put the map back into my coat and drew a thin, delicate knife that was strapped to my belt. My face was reflected in the blade and my wide grin distorted it almost. But I didn’t care. With a quick motion, I cut my left hand. My enthusiasm seemed to run wild, so not only my blood dripped onto the floor, but my little finger fell too, and rolled away from the insignia. But what was a finger compared to what was to come? I stretched out my left hand and squeezed, so the blood flowed in a thick stream onto the insignia and spread out evenly. The ground shook and I felt a pain in my ribs. The light hedgehog had disposed of four of its needles and one of them... Now punctured my lungs. But what were lungs compared to what was to come? I took one step forward and knelt over the insignia. I had to hurry, as the blood could not also flow into my mouth and rob me of my ability to speak. So, I yelled my name into the darkness. “___ “
