After much discussion, the two girls took the risk of allowing a couple of criminals to teach them to use the other abilities of their powers. Chantel got sick of randomly driving people’s emotions crazy because of her empathy manipulation abilities. As much as she did not want to be working with random criminals, she had no choice, considering she was literally a fugitive herself. When Mara turned on the Mirrors Interfaces, Chantel noticed two women sitting in a room together at the opposite sides. There was one burly security guard, and the other looked handsome, guarding the two women. Of course, one guard was a vampire while other was just an average Supernatural human.
Observing one woman in the first mirror, Chantel glances at one of the woman’s cold gray eyes and white hair with pale skin, not saying a word to her. Viewing the second mirror, there was another woman who had a darker skin complexion. This woman brushed her wavy brunette hair, crossing her legs and leaning over to her mirror. All this woman did was glare at the two young women in curiosity. However, Chantel observed that this criminal woman put far too much attention on Leticia than her.
Sitting back in her seat, the woman pointed to Leticia and said, “There is no doubt about it. The pretty one right next to that petite one. That girl is my niece!”
Chantel witnessed the hot-headed woman get out of her chair, then yelled at the mirror, “Excuse me?!”
“Hernandez? Right? Your last name. Related to the stupid Outsider fool that lured my sister away. Frankly, when the Melicona mayor told us we needed to help two useless girls, I, at first, didn’t want to, until the man told us your story. From within the prison's walls, we heard about what happened to you two. I would like to say one thing, Ms. Leticia Hernandez. You’re just as reckless as your mother was when she was your age,” the woman explained.
“Excuse me, you don't know nothing about my mother or me, just who the fuck are you?!” Hearing Leticia’s voice escalated, Chantel grabbed the hot-headed woman's arm, making her sit back in her chair.
“Gloria, there is no reason to get rude today. Just because you had a bad visitation meeting with your long-lost daughter today. There is no need to take it out on these girls!” The white-haired woman snapped.
Chantel clears her throat, still looking at the two older women in the mirrors bringing their attention. “May you two introduce yourselves?”
The white-haired woman repositioned herself and voiced, “My name is Veronique Blanchet. And this woman is my friend, Gloria Monterosa. We are former members of the Rise of Light. Apparently, we are your teachers to help you manage your emotional manipulation part of your Bio-Kinesis powers.”
“These women are the best I could find. They were also willing to help in any way,” Mara added.
“I’m only in it, if it gives me some rewards during my prison sentence,” Gloria muttered.
Chantel only listened to some of what Veronique said, but her last name stood out to her, remembering that was her father’s formal last name. Raising her hand slightly to get Veronique’s attention, she got up from her chair, then stared into the woman’s cold, gray eyes.
“You said your last name was Blanchet? That means you know someone by the name of Robin Blanchet, right?”
The woman’s eyes flew open in shock and asked, “May I ask how do you know my dearest brother, Robin, young child?”
“Robin Blanchet is my father…”
After the meeting, both of the girls walked out of Mara’s office, feeling a little uneasy about finding teachers to help them learn about controlling their powers. Still, having convicted criminals to help them bothered Chantel, but she had to shake off this negative feeling. The first meeting was only just an introduction; the real work starts at the second meeting! All Chantel focused on were Veronique and Gloria. She wanted to know more about the woman, who was a sister of her father, but the guards and Mara had to rush the girls to finalize everything with the two criminal women about their lessons. As Chantel and Leticia were walking down the hallway to their bedroom, the two girls found the door open!
A shot of panic went through her mind as she immediately thought of a thief had broken in! Arriving in the room, they saw a black-haired young man rummaging through their stuff. Chantel knew this was the man that she recently met, Daniel Aryn. Without hesitation, she ran up to the young man, tackling him to the ground. The petite woman knew that her strength was not enough to keep him down to the ground. She held Daniel's arm up to his back, while Leticia went up to sit on him. At least with the two of them, it should be enough to keep him down.
“What are you doing in our room?” Chantel whispered sternly in Daniel’s ear.
“Nothing much. I’m just looking to see if you have something interesting. You know, like money,” Daniel answered.
The petite woman’s eyes went wide when she looked at the thief! She wanted nothing more but to break his fingers! Concentrating hard on her powers, the energy attempted to burn the skin from Daniel’s arm. However, all that energy just seemed to bounce back to her! In result, the hand that Chantel was holding him burned her instead!
Squeaking in pain, she flinched back, letting go of his arm and rubbing her hand. Chantel's hand was now all red from Daniel's retaliation. Still, the two women remain sitting on the thief, while one woman tended to her own wounds as the other holds the man’s arm.
“Chantel, are you alright — oops, I mean, Cora!” Leticia avoided saying anything further.
“Don’t bother hiding, ladies, I already know who you guys really are,” Chantel overheard the overconfident young man, which made her anger rise.
“How much do you know?” She glared at Daniel, still rubbing her hand, using her powers to, at least, attempt to hear herself.
“Chantel Delisle and Leticia Hernandez, right? You two and that other boy, Darren Cross, are on the run? Authorities are trying to look for the three of you and have a big reward for your capture! Imagine what I would do with that money…?” The cocky man whispered, smirking back at Chantel.
The jig was up! Leticia got off of Daniel to go outside the room in a hurry to see if any other residents would hear them. When she arrived back in the room, the hot-headed woman pulled in a pink-haired girl, who was standing not too far from their room. Chantel knew this little girl from earlier, Rine Stone and she was with Daniel. She guessed the little girl was an accomplice to the man, though the child looked confused.
Rine did not say a word when she entered the room as Leticia closed the door for privacy.
“If you think you are going to turn us in without a fight, you're sadly mistaken, asshat!” Leticia threatened Daniel, leaning against the wall.
“No problem. I can take some novice Bio-Kinetics down easily. However, that Cross boy would be a challenge,” the young man bragged, which made Chantel more furious!
She would not let this boy drag her to the authorities. Chantel came so far and she would not let some random Supernatural boy sell her out. Removing herself off of Daniel, she still holding her burned hand, using her healing ability to numb the pain. The cocky boy got up, then dusted himself off. Suddenly, Chantel punched Daniel right in the face, using her unharmed hand!
The man almost fell back backward, awestruck at her punch move. Blood came out of his mouth as Daniel just wiped it off with no effort. Chantel knew the man could heal himself back up in no hurry, but she clarified she wouldn't make this easy for him. She noticed the sounds of sniffles from Rine crying as it seems like the girl did not like punch she did to the cocky man.
“You know, hit me again! I kinda find that hot!” Daniel urged Chantel on, but it got her even more annoyed.
“Excuse me?! Fuck you, man! Are you one of those masochists?! Ew, you’re a creep!” Chantel exclaimed.
She knew another punch would just get the man more excited. It was not worth it to do that.
“Daniel, please, stop! I don’t want you to get us kicked out! Plus, how are you going to turn them in when we’re on the run as well?!” Rine shouted with fresh tears in her eyes.
Overhearing the little girl, a smile appeared on Chantel’s face as one thought came to her mind with this information: leverage. Both groups have a secret that they need to keep under wraps, so she needs to make a move on getting Daniel to shut up.
“We can keep this whole thing under wraps to serve both of us. You shut your mouth about us, while Leticia and I won’t say a word about whatever reason you guys are hiding. Personally, I don’t really care who you are running from or why. I just think we would win nothing if we snitched on each other, okay?”
Daniel was about to open his mouth to protest until Rine extended her hand out for a handshake. Her cute, innocent, slightly wet blue eyes calmed Chantel’s anger. She could never be angry at a nice little girl like; Rine. After everything was clear, all of them heard the door open again. The group’s heads turned over to see Darren entering the room.
Chantel saw that the shock look on her best friend's face when he stepped in the room. It was only fair enough to let Darren in on what had happened.
“Okay, D, we got a lot we have to fill you in on…” Chantel grabbed her friend's hand, guiding him to sit down in a chair.
