"Zou Yue, dinner is ready." Peng Qui walked into the dark room. He heard little dripping sounds from inside the bathroom. "Zou? Are you finished?"
"I'll be out in a minute." Zou swiftly wiped down his body and wore the slightly damp towel around his waist. "Is the braised pork ready?"
His hair was still dripping wet, and the droplets rolled down his pale body.
Peng Qui's eyes went wide as he saw the slim, yet seductive body. He swiftly turned back. "Wow, when did little Zou become big Zou? Anyway dry you hair and come out," he said and ran out leaving behind a confuse Zou.
He walked over to his mirror and took out the hair drier from the drawers. "wah, bath felt so good" his shirt fell onto his face. He swept it up and glanced at his reflection. His skin had become slightly pink from the hot bath. "I look like a cooked peeled shrimp,"
"Little Yue!"
"Coming." he pulled on a black shirt and a pair of trousers exposing his thighs. Just as he walked out the room a tantalising sect hit his nose. "Oh my god, that smells wonderful!!" he jumped onto the seat and glanced at the smoking hot meal. "Is that all for me?"
"yes! Eat up," manager Mu gave him a pair of chopsticks.
Zou Yue happily ate a bite of rice. It was slightly sticky and chewy, with a tinge of sweetness to it. He paired it with the spicy sour pork piece. "It's heavenly!! This is what heaven tastes like!!" he shouted, and ate with gusto.
Seeing him eat so well, the other two's appetites increased.
All three of them ate so well, leaving behind only empty plates on the table.
Zou Yue caressed his bulging stomach and burped. 'That was the most satisfied meal I've had in years~' he glanced at his busy manager and smiled. "Thank you so much, brother Mu. Your cooking is always is the best."
"Of course, I have a picky model like you. You should thank Aunty Helen for all the training," manger Mu chuckled with a fond smile on his face.
Aunty Helen was manager Mu's wife. They have been married for almost ten years, but they were not blessed with a child. So they both treated him as their own child.
Smiling, Zou Yue took out a few packs of dried strawberry from his pockets. "Manager, give this to aunty." He shoved the packets to him.
Manger Mu happily took it. "Oh Yue, I have something to talk to you about."
They both sat down comfortably on the couch. Manager even gave him a small cup of milk. "Zou, about your contract renewal. The agency is planning to....."
"I do not want to renew my contract." Zou stopped him mid-sentence.
"What!" he shot up. "Little Yue, did you get in contact with other agencies? How dare they contact you without my authority," his manager raged.
Zou Yue waited until he called down a little. "Manager Mu, I do not want to be a model anymore."
"What!!" his manager glanced at him with his mouth wide open. "Little Yue, if you are in any kind of difficulty I am willing to help you."
Zou understood the implied meaning of those words. "I am not taking any drugs, nor am I drunkard," he said with a cold look.
His manger silently peered at him. "Then why did you take this decision. Right when you career is about to peak,"
Zou Yue dwindled with his thumb. He can't obviously say that the world would end in just six months and that he had to learn some life skills for that. "um.. my father disapproves of my job,"
"bullshit, I know you don't listen to anyone. Don't give me this shitty reason. Tell me if you want more compensation the company is willing to give it to you."
"I really don't care about compensation anymore. I—I am a lonely uncle. I really want to be with my family. My dad is going to retire next month even they will probably move to our hometown. I am going to go back with them," Zou said softly.
In fact, in his previous life, the same thing happened. But he did not voluntarily go along with his parents. He went along because he lost his job.
On That fateful day, He got annoyed of his father's nagging and left the house to party all night.
When he returned drunk in the morning, he came back to a dark town. The electric wires had snapped, and they lost electricity on the day of the meteor's impact.
The next day was normal, but on that night. His father got sick. Everyone thought it was just a common cold, but his situation got progressively worse.
Just a Day after the end of the world, his father passed away.
Heartbroken, his mother followed along three days later.
Thinking back to this, his eye started tearing up immediately. "Manager Mu, I just want to be with my family. I miss them so much," he started sobbing loudly.
Even manager was stunned. He rushed to him and hugged him tight. "Oh, my child, why did you hold back so much grief in your heart? If you had told me earlier, I would have cleared your schedule and taken you back home." he gently patted his trembling back.
"No, I want to go back. I want to be with them." He sobbed loudly. 'With them when they pass.' He silently swallowed these words.
Even though he had knowledge about the future, he still could not stop the fever from claiming his parents.
He hugged manager Mu tightly. "Manager, you should leave this city. Go to a remote area far, far away. Better yet, don't stay in any cities."
"Because six months from now, the world we came to know of will end."
