They didn't need to make anyone sick.
Plenty of people were sick already, and after healing a few, they didn't have to look for others.
People started coming to them.
They had healed men, women, children, a few infants, too. Andrew had to admit, it did feel nice, to help people.
It bothered him at first, that they were misleading everyone. It didn't bother him now, though. Not as much, anyway.
People were being helped and they weren't hurting anyone, he supposed it didn't really matter who anyone thought was doing it.
And it was nice.
Everyone seemed so happy that Lucina had healed them. Even though she hadn't done a thing. They spread the word to their friends and family. More people came.
They gave Lucina gifts.
Lucina always smiled when she was given gifts, but most of the time she just put the gifts away and never looked at them twice. She kept the gifts from the children though. One child gave her a little ragdoll that was now sitting by her mirror. Another gave her a painted shell necklace. She never wore it, but she still kept it.
Lucina had never struck Andrew as someone who liked kids. She had seemed too cold. Too aloof.
But now it was hard to believe she didn't.
She was always sweet to Jasna. Always sweet to any child that approached her. Genuinely kind.
It made Andrew painfully aware that he knew absolutely nothing about the people he was working with. They seemed to understand him completely, but they were all strangers to him.
He knew, in some way, shape, or form, they were like him. But they were also vastly different. They were older, probably wiser.
Not only that, but they also knew each other. They might not all be friends, but they knew each other well and got along fairly well. They had all been together for ages, perhaps eras, but he wasn't. He wasn't even alive when they all met.
They probably saw him as little more than a child. And in some ways he probably was. They had to teach him everything. He hardly understood anything at all.
"You looked thoughtful." Andrew looked up and Jarek smiled at him, "Can I sit with you?"
Andrew nodded and Jarek sat down.
Jarek rubbed the ring that hung on a chain around his neck between his fingers. "Is everything alright? You looked a bit down."
"No, I'm alright. Just thinking."
"You do have quite a bit to think about." Jarek smiled, "This is all fairly new to you. You only ever met us... three months ago? And you've only been in Eden for two months. Things are changing quickly for you."
Andrew nodded, laughing softly. "I wouldn't have believed you if you told me a year ago this is where I would be."
"You'd think we were crazy."
"Definitely."
"Well," Jarek smiled, "Zaizon, Crynn, and I are going out, just to take a look around the capital, since Lucina's done for today. You're free to come along with us. If you want to, that is."
Andrew smiled, "Yeah, that sounds fun."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go."
