Scene: Damon and Lyall are at a shopping center together, looking for a birthday present for Tasha. They're holding hands as they walk and Damon is around 16.
Lyall: Swinging Damon's hand in his as they walk Are you sure you can't just magic us some presents for Tasha? Looking for something is so tiring.
Damon: Laughs a bit It has more meaning if we take the time to look for something nice. Gives Lyall a cheeky smile Besides, don't you like having this time for just the two of us?
Lyall: Blushes and says enthusiastically as he looks at Damon Of course! I love getting to be alone with you!
Damon: Looking thoughtful Does it bother you that Tasha is usually with us?
Lyall: Thinks about it No… Not now anyway. It did bother me in the beginning, but now It feels a little off when she’s not there.
Damon: Laughs a bit at that I suppose that's true.
Lyall: Looks a bit disgruntled Besides, I realized you aren't attached to anyone. It probably doesn't even matter to you if you're with me or Tasha, everyone is all the same to you.
Damon: I won't deny there is some truth to that. Gives Lyall a warm smile But you have been with me the longest and are my most loyal companion, of course you hold a special place in my heart.
Lyall: Blushes a bit at that Are you talking about this life or something else?
Damon: Gives Lyall a sly smile A bit of both perhaps.
Lyall: Ugh, I wish I could remember my other lives with you! Were they fun? Were we happy together? It's not fair only you can remember them! You could at least tell me about a few.
Damon: I don't want you to get caught up in them. It's best that you stay focused on this life.
Lyall: Pouts Can't you at least tell me one?
Damon: Thinks about it then smiles at Lyall In one life you were my wife, Lili. I took on the role of an Ocean God in order to help populate the oceans of a planet called Quiatica. You gave birth to many wonderful children for me and the planet.
Lyall: Looking deeply disturbed H-how many children?
Damon: Says teasingly Thousands at least. You would be pregnant with an egg sack, and then once the egg sack was ready you would give birth to it, and then it would swell before releasing hundreds of smaller eggs-
Lyall: Sounding traumatized OKAY!! Okay! I don't want to know anymore!
Damon: I told you, it's best to focus on your current life.
Lyall: Frowns at Damon Well I didn't expect to be a creepy fish breeding woman.
Damon: Looks amused Lili wasn’t creepy at all, she was a very beautiful woman with a kind heart.
Lyall: Blushes at that Was she happy?
Damon: Smiles at that Yes, very! Lili loved being a wife and mother.
Action: Lyall stops walking and looks sad as he lets go of Damon's hand.
Damon: Looks at Lyall seeming concerned Lyall, what's wrong?
Lyall: Looking a bit lonely It’s because she was with you that she could be happy.
Damon: I suppose...
Lyall: Looking ashamed of himself The things I did before I was with you, I feel so guilty about. You say I’m your most loyal but I wasn’t loyal to you when you weren’t there! I slept with other people, I married someone else….we even had a kid together… I betrayed you, and I betrayed myself because none of that made me happy.
Damon: Laughs a bit at that How could you betray me if you didn’t even know I existed?
Lyall: I betrayed you in my heart, in my heart I always knew you were there! I must have! But it’s not fair! Why couldn’t I have just remembered you, like you remembered me? Why do I have to forget everything between lives? If I’d just been able to remember I wouldn’t have made those mistakes!
Damon: Looks sad at that When souls reincarnate they forget their past lives so that they don’t have to hold onto their sins, attachments, regrets... All the experiences of their former selves can be let go. That way souls can start fresh, and make new choices without being burdened by the influence of their past decisions.
Lyall: But I don’t want to forget you! I don’t ever want to forget you! If I can only remember one thing, why can’t I just remember you? Looking scared I’m so afraid of forgetting you again and making the same bad choices. I hate this!
Damon: Tears up and lovingly hugs Lyall Because of your karma I can’t promise you that you won't forget me again. But I can promise you that I will always find you and be with you in some way.
Lyall: Hugs Damon back tightly Will you find me sooner next time?
Damon: I’ll try… but there are cosmic laws greater than myself that I must abide by.
Lyall: Surprised There’s something greater than you?
Damon: Lets go of Lyall and laughs a bit Of course! I too am just an actor within creation. All things serve the Almighty Bliss, that which is everything. The laws that keep creation functioning are the laws I abide by as well.
Lyall: Pouts Then why do you get to remember your past lives when I don’t?
Damon: Takes Lyall’s hand in his again and makes them go back to walking Because it’s part of my job in this life that I remember. I don’t always remember though, sometimes I’m just as unaware as everyone else.
Lyall: Looking curious What kind of life is it when you don't have your memories?
Damon: Thinks about it It’s usually for a planet’s Judgement. That time in which I am to decide the fate of a planet, along with my other half, Purusha. It seems more fair to make a judgement based on having experienced the world as others on the planet would have.
Lyall: Looking impressed Wow! You actually get to decide the fate of planets?
Damon: Yes, that is one of my jobs. When a planet has fallen into corruption Purusha and I incarnate to decide if the planet should be destroyed or if it’s worth salvaging in some form.
Lyall: Is Purusha a god too? Why is he your other half?
Damon: Smiles as he thinks about it He’s a God of Destruction, thus my other half since I am a God of Creation. You will meet an incarnation of Purusha's in this life in a few years.
Lyall: Looking worried about that I will? Should I be worried? "God of Destruction" sounds like a pretty intimidating title.
Damon: Laughs a bit You don't need to worry, so long as you don’t make him angry. He can be somewhat quick to turn people into dust.
Lyall: W-what?? Dust?!? That sounds like I should worry!
Damon: Seems amused It's all right, I won't let him dust you. Points to the food court Should we get something to eat?
Lyall: Looks to where Damon pointed Oh…sure. What do you want?
Damon: We could split a cinnamon roll, or get a pretzel.
Lyall: Smiles at Damon Oh! We should get those little pretzel bites that you dip in cheese! My daughter, Noelle, used to love those!
Damon: Smiles All right, that sounds good.
Lyall: Looks a bit sad It’s strange, because of you making me the same age as you, Noelle would only be two years younger than me now.
Damon: Laughs I suppose that's true.
Lyall: sighs I feel so bad for leaving her… Especially with her mother, she was such an awful woman. Ophelia didn’t hurt Noelle, did she?
Damon: Thinks about it as he magics himself some pretzel bites No, after you were declared dead Ophelia inherited most of your family’s money and ended up meeting a man who helped to change her for the better. Eating one of the pretzels He's been a decent step father to Noelle as well.
Lyall: Looking annoyed So… really they’re better off with me “dead”?
Damon: Maybe, they’re doing all right at least. Offers Lyall a pretzel piece with a smile Do you want some?
Lyall: Takes a piece while still looking a bit annoyed You didn’t want to buy them?
Damon: Ah, well, you made them sound so good I got impatient.
Lyall: Laughs a bit I didn’t know you could get impatient. Thinks of something then looks around the food court But you would gloss over the truth.
Action: Lyall sees a group of teenage boys sitting at one of the tables in the food court who are laughing at them.
Lyall: AH! They're making fun of us aren't they? That's why you opted to magic the pretzels!
Damon: Looks a bit sad They thought it was funny when they saw us hugging before. Turns to continue walking towards the shops Never mind them.
Lyall: Looks back at the table seeming annoyed before going after Damon Shouldn't we do something about it?
Damon: Smiles at Lyall gently The law of karma teaches everyone the lessons they deserve in time.
Lyall: Takes another pretzel bite from Damon If you say so… Smiles Can you magic us some extra cheese then?
Damon: Laughs and hands Lyall an extra cheese cup to dip his pretzel in All right.
Lyall: Eating his pretzel bite happily I see why Noelle liked these so much!
Damon: Looking thoughtful Do you want to meet your daughter again, Lyall? I know you feel guilty about what happened with her.
Lyall: Thinks about it and looks sad No… I’m too ashamed to face her… How can I ever explain to her why I left? It was irresponsible any way you look at it…
Damon: Well, maybe someday then…
Lyall: Why? What good would it do?
Damon: I think you need closure with her in order to fully let go of your past.
Lyall: Looks sad as he thinks about it Closure? Maybe that’s true…
