“ Home Again”

It’s been about three months since the incident. I remember it all, the monster, my father, what I have done to my hometown. Niklaus was the one who found me in a pile of rubble along with my father's corpse. His home survived the whole thing so he has kept me in a room here. I don’t leave, I don't talk anymore. I can’t help but fear what is to happen if I do go out again, will I run into another monster? What if I snap again? It's been three months and I still haven't left this room. 

“ Hi mama, can we read today?” Sparrow said quietly as he walked into the room. He has stayed with me ever since, he is the only one I talk to mostly because I don’t want him to feel sad.

“ Of course sweetie come here and show me the book you wish to read today. He smiled and ran over crawling into my lap. We stayed like this for some time until Niklaus came in with food for all of us. Nik made it so the only ones in the room were him and Sparrow.  He sat down and we all started eating quietly.

“ A ship has arrived into town today, kinda funny they had nowhere to dock,” Niklaus says breaking the silence, only earning a nod from me.

“ Maybe Alren is Home!” SParrow exclaimed. Could he be? 

“ We could go check if you would like Sparrow, would you like to come to Nelia.” I don’t respond. I can’t go back to those docs if there are more.

“ It’s ok if Alren is here we will bring him back! Surely that will make mama happy!” Sparrow said sprinting to get his shoes on. Niklaus hesitated but got up and followed Sparrow non-less. About one hour has passed before I hear them yelling outside the house. I get up and walk over to the window to get a better look.

“ AND WHERE THE HELL WAS YOU! YOU TALK THIS BIG GAME TELL HER YOU LOVE HER AND THEN LEAVE WHEN SHE NEEDED YOU MOST! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE AROUND HER!” Screamed Niklaus.

“ I LEFT FOR HER SO WE COULD BE HAPPY TOGETHER! HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT ANY OF THIS WOULD HAPPEN!” Alren screamed back. He looked different, more rugged, and had much more muscle to him.

“ WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE FOR HER HUH? SHE IS GOING TO MARRY ME NOT YOU, SHE WAS NEVER GOING TO MARRY YOU AND STILL IS NOT GOING TO! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK ASS SKULL YOU ARE NOTHING TO HER! SHE NEVER LOVED YOU AS SHE DOES ME!” SHouted Niklaus.

“ THEN WHY WAS SHE SCREAMING OUT MY NAME!” Alren replied

“What?” Niklaus said now clearly surprised.

“ If she didn’t love me then why was she quivering under me, begging me not to stop, if she didn’t love me then why would she give herself to me, while you have nothing!” Alren spat with venom.

“ You're lying, she would never.” Niklaus said in disbelief, “ If it were true she would have announced it!” Niklaus seethed in denial.

“ I don’t know why she did-”

“ BECAUSE YOU ARE LYING!” Nik shouts once more

“ Then go ask her!” Alren bit back.

“ She won’t answer, Ma hasn’t talked to anyone in three months, I want Alren to make mama happy again!” Sparrow cried from the doorway.

“No! Now that I have her I WILL NOT let you get in the way again, you won’t be able to see her,” Nik announced pushing the sparrow in and locking the door behind him. 

“ LET ME IN NIKLAUS! SPARROW! I'LL KILL YOU!” Alren shouts before storming away. I felt those chills again, those same chills that came at least once a day were back. Someone was watching me. Sparrow came in running with tears.

“ Niklaus locked Papa out Ma!” Sparrow cried into my chest. I Petted his head and soothed his tears. Why would Nik keep Sparrow away from Alren he is his father. Niklaus walked in with salty tears in his eyes.

“ Tell me it's not true, please you never have to take it again, just please answer me this one question. Tell me what he said wasn’t true please tell me you didn’t love him!” Nik cried as he pulled me into his chest, not letting me go. 

“ Please let us be a happy family, me, you, and sparrow. That's all I want for my love.” He whispers into my hair, rocking slightly. I still couldn’t bring myself to speak. I was afraid of what would happen if I did. The only time I speak is when I whisper to a sparrow. I can't be louder. So I just laid there as Nik to lull me and sparrow into a dreamless sleep.

When I woke up I was alone in my bed and the only light was from the moon. I slowly got up and walked towards the door. I grabbed the candle and felt it till I found the wick. “ Light”  the candlelit itself with a strong flame. This was why I could not speak above a whisper my words would kill. I do not know what the creature did to me. But the scars left behind to remind me I am no longer human. As I open the door I get a big smell of iron. Something is very wrong.  I slowly walk to the stairs descending. I get a chill running up my spine. Where are sparrows and Nik? I wondered.

The smell of iron gets thicker as I make it to the first flood, I look around seeing nothing out of the ordinary. Where is that smell coming from? I slowly start heading to the seating room. The candle blows out. Everything is pitch black again I slowly stumble forwards looking for a wall. I found a door. It’s wet? I try to light my candle again. “ LIGHT,” I said a bit louder this time creating a flame twice as large. And what I saw made my heart stop. Alren was sitting in the blood-covered room sitting right next to Niklaus and Sparrows corpses with a sword in hand.

“ Hi love,” Alren spoke, his voice breaking as he held back tears.

“ What did you do?” I asked in a whisper.

“ Speak up love, unless you want me to get closer?” Alren said, voice still quivering. He sounded sad.

“ I said speak up,” he says getting up and getting closer to me.

“ Please stay back,” I whispered against dropping the candle causing it to light the carpet as tears run down my face, he didn’t stop.
