Chapter 16: Road Trip (Part 4)

[Calix’s P.O.V.]

As I exit the car, I saw the gate of the People’s Park in the sky was close. Luca Park the car at the near intimate restaurant.

“What we’ll do?” I asked.

“We’ll go inside,” Jayen said.

Trixie, Abel, Analyn and I tilts our head, “Huh?” We said.

Jayen calls Luca, “Luca, come here.”

Luca goes to Jayen, and they talked about something. Luca carried Jayen on his back, and Jayen jumps on the top of the gate and goes to the other side.

“Hey! What are you doing that trespassing!” Trixie shouted as Jayen opening the gate on the other side.

“It's a waste to go here, and then we can't even get in, so we'll get in.” Jayen is trying to pick the lock on the other side.

“Even though we are still trespassing.” The corners of  Analyn’s eyes were crinkled.

“We can go somewhere else,” I said.

“That's okay, just once.” Abel agreed to Jayen.

“Right, he said It’s okay, just once.” Jayen still picking the lock.

“Can you do it, Jayen?.” Luca said.

“I can’t pick the lock,” Jayen replied.

Luca removes his denim jacket and runs towards the gate, and Our eyes widen as he jumps over the entrance.

“You too, Luca?” Trixie stressed.

“What’s wrong? We’re already were.” Luca said with an expressionless face.

“Tsk... Alright, I’m in.” Trixie said.

“Me too.” We said.

Luca is trying to help Jayen, and they cannot pick the lock. Luca kicks the gate, nothing happens.

“Abel, can you get a tool that will help pick this lock. It is on the trunk,” Luca said without looking.

“Okay,” Abel said while Analyn, Trixie and I Sitting on the ground, scrolling on our phone.

Abel found a Heavy Duty Bolt Chain Lock Wire Cutter in the trunk and threw it over the gate, and they cut the lock.

“Arghh, what I did was tiring,” Jayen said

“You have done nothing,” Luca said.

Jayen was embarrassed as we chuckled while walking to the park. Five minutes later, at the tip of the mountain,

“Oh... here we are,” Trixie said.

We sit at the table near, and we get the food on the trunk.

“What did you buy, Luca?” I asked.

“Two Order Shrimp in Achiote Oil and One order of Turon,” Luca said.

“Isn’t that too many?” Trixie said.

“I will not eat rice,” Luca replied, opening the container of the food.

While eating, we’re talking about what are we going to do after we eat here.

“So what do we do after we eat?” Analyn said, eating her Menudo.

“How about we sleepover in a hotel?” Abel said.

“Isn’t we have classes tomorrow?” Trixie said.

“We can leave early at the hotel,” Luca said without looking, eating his Shrimp.

“Yes, we can do that.” Jayen nodded agreeably.

“Alright.” Said Trixie.

“Calix? Analyn? Are you in?”

“Do we have a choice?” Analyn and I said.

A few minutes later, After eating the food, we’re eating our dessert. Jayen and Abel told jokes,  I laughed, and something unexpected happened. I choked on turon, which I ate while laughing.

“W-w-,” I cough, “W-water.”

They were panicking because we forgot to order drinks in the restaurant. Luca put a bottle of water on the top of my head.

“Drink this.” He said in a flirtatious way.

I immediately drink the bottle of water that Luca gave.

After I drink it Luca flick my fore head, “You shouldn’t laughing while eating.”

“O-okay.” I said, hide my blushing face.

“Where did you get that from?” Jayen asked.

“There is a vending machine over there.” Luca replied, pointing on the right side.

All of them goes to the vending machine except Luca and I.

“Thanks.” I quietly said.

“For what?” he get his face closer to mine.

“For the bottle of water.” I said, I was fiddling with my fingernails, flustered.

“It's just nothing.” He stared my at eyes.

“W-why are you looking at me.” I’m feelings of warmth and solid patches of redness or rapid reddening of my neck, upper chest, and face.

“Nothing, it just your brown eyes is beautiful.” His the face came closer.

“Thanks.” I said, “I'm still thirsty so I'll get to the vending machine for water.” I goes to the vending machine.

In the corner, I see Jayen, Trixie, Abel, and Analyn. We’re eavesdropping to our conversation.

“hmmm... Calix, you need an explanation.” Trixie grabbing me to the vending machine.

“what are you talking about?” Trixie said, smiling.

“What?” I pause, “What do you mean?” I’m hiding the fact that I’m blushing.

“Don't pretend that you don’t know what we mean,” Analyn said, sitting on a bike in the corner.

“Calix is in love!!” Jayen teased me.

“Inlove? To who?” My eyes were darting back and forth and blinking fast.

“To Luca, to whom else,” Abel said.

“Luca? No way?” I shake my head left to right, sweating.

“Are you gonna deny it?” Trixie stared at me.

“I’m going to tell Luca that you hate him,” Jayen said.

“What? It's not that I hate him; it’s like-” I said.

“you like him?” Analyn said.

“It’s no-.” I said.

“Oh, you don't love him because you like him.” The corner of Abel’s mouth quirked up.

“It’s not like that!” My voice rose.

“Don’t be mad. We’re just teasing you.” Trixie said in a soothing tone. “Seriously, do you like him or not?”

I hesitate, “I-i-i li-like him.” Looking at the right side of the corner of my eyes and hiding my face.

They laugh hardly

“What’s funny?” I said, my eyes were wet.

“It’s just we never thought you’ll confess it to us.” Jayen said.

“Whatever, go back there, Luca is waiting.” I said, picking a drink on the vending machine.

“Okay.” They go back where we eat.

After i pick a drink a go back and they were clearing away clutter of trash.

“we're leaving.” Jayen sweeping the floor.

“Where we’ll going.” I asked.

“We’re going to a sleepover at a hotel nearby.” Trixie replied, putting the trash on a bin.

“You can help by carrying our bags,” Analyn said.

“Okay.” I carry their bag. Going down, I saw Luca preparing the car.

“Luca!” I said.

Luca turns his head and stares at me, “Huh?”

“Where do I put these things?” I asked, looking at his gray eyes.

“Let me put that in the car and get in the car.” Luca grabs the bag I carry.

I enter the car and sit on the seat where I sit earlier.

Scrolling through my phone, Luca enters the car, sits on the driver seat, and puts his earphones to his ear.

As I scroll through my social media, I found an article that my curiosity pop-up on my mind, the title of the article is  “Demon Are Real, It's not a Myth.”

Trixie and others enter the car, and I save the article to read it later.

Luca starts to drive the car to a hotel we talk about. Trixie and Analyn keep laughing about the jokes that Jayen and Abel told. Luca is just giggling while driving, I just leaning and head on the window and staring out the window.

I start to fall asleep suddenly. The article I saw earlier bothers me. I remember Sir Domingez said in the class, “Demons? Real or Myths?” I start having thought about if there is a demon.

If there is a demon, why there is no sighting of them, why no one saw them if there is a demon hiding and where they are hiding, What if to those I meet, to my friends, or to those I know, maybe one of them is a demon. If there is a demon, I like to meet one.

I fall asleep

“Calix? Calix?” I heard a voice beside me, tapping my shoulder.

“Wake up. We're here.” I see Trixie as I open my eyes.

“where are we?” I asked as I fix my hair.

“At a hotel.” Trixie reply. “Hurry up. They are waiting for us.”

I exit the car. We’re in an underground parking lot.

Trixie enters the elevator waiting for me. I get my bag and go to her.

Trixie push the button “1” He goes to the first floor, as the door open, I saw Luca, Jayen, Analyn and Abel in the lobby carrying and bags.

“How long will it take you to wake up Calix?” Jayen said.

I ignore him

Luca leads the way to the room. We enter the elevator and go to the 7th floor of the building.

We enter room 101. We saw two large beds and a bathroom, Analyn enter the bathroom.

“Who want play a game who want to play a game?” Jayen jumps to the bed.

“I’m in! what are we going to play?” Abel replied.

“How about truth or dare?” Luca said, holding a bottle.

“Sounds fun! I’m in” Trixie said.

“I’ll join too.” I spoke.

“Can I join?” Analyn said, exting the bathroom.

We form a circle on the floor.

“Okay I’ll spin the bottle.” Jayen spin the bottle.

The bottle spins, It points at trixie.

“Truth Or Dare?” Abel asked.

“Dare.” Trixie replied with a confidence.

“Who’s gonna dare her?” Jayen said.

“Me” Luca said.

“...”

“no one complained so Luca will dare Trixie.” Said Jayen

“Quit the game.” Luca dare Trixie.

“Huh?” Trixie widen her eyes

We widens our eyes,

“What? Are you serious?” Trixie asked.

“No, I’m just kidding I just wanna see your reaction.” Luca said, smiling.

“I thought you were serious, so whjat your dare?” Trixie said.

“I dare you to not speak until I’m still playing this game.” Luca dare her.

“...” trixie nodded agreeably.

“What if Trixie speak while you’re still on the game Luca?” Abel asked.

“I Don’t know.” Luca replies

“If a someone didn’t do the dare will be punish how about that?” Jayen said.

We Agree, Jayen spin the bottle and it points at Analyn.

“Dare.” Analyn said.

“I’m gonna Dare her.” I vollunter

“slap Jayen.” I dare her.

“Huh? Wha-” Jayen said, as Analyn slaps him.

“This is freaking fun.” Analyn giggles.

We laughed as Jayen complained about slapping him.

We played the game for hours, it was already 11:00 P.M., Luca and Jayen quit the game cause they was sleepy, Trixie is happy cause she can talk. we countinue the game.

Abel vollunter to spin the bottle, he spin and bottlea and points at me.

“Dare.” I said.

“describe luca and-” Trixie interrupted by the snore of jayen.

We chuckle about Jayen Snoring. Luca is sleeping peacefully.

“Let me repeat, describe Luca and what you like about him.” Trixie dare.

I saw a curious word on their face,

“Hmmm...” Looking at Luca, “ he seems muscular, and I think he’s handsome with gray eyes, sharp facial features, neat black hair, and his smile is enigmatic.”

“So... What do you like about him.” Analyn asked.

I look at my right to hide my embarrassment on my face, “I Think is gray eyes.”

“Grey eyes, huh?” Trixie said, looking at me.

“I’m going to sleep.” I said without looking at them, annoyed.
