The day Leandre and I decided we were going to buy Phaenna’s gift this weekend, we spoke about it to Ergil and Ella.

Ella told Leandre that even though she already buy Phaenna a birthday gift she would love to come with us but couldn’t because she had a meeting with her family and her mate to organise their future engagement. If we were staying late to hang out she says she would try coming.

Ergil told me at first, that he would ask his parents and that they would certainly be positive. He later confirms to me that they did agree and seemed really happy.

Saturday

The meeting was at 1 pm, I arrived at 1:10.  Leandre and Ergil were already there.

“Hello, guys!” I waved at them upon my arrival

“Hi, Remi!” Ergil responded hugging me

Leandre was smiling and said “I am surprised you’re only that late”

 “The only reason I am late is that my papa wanted me to put the trash bin out at the last minute” but it’s true that I wasn’t the most punctual person

“Obviously,” Leandre said knowingly “Now let’s go before there are too many people in the sh-“

Leandre stoped his sentence brutally to look behind me and Ergil. Ergil looked behind us and back at the face Leandre was making before he starts laughing hard.

I was about to also turn around when he answers my interrogations by saying “You invited Wayne??”

“Ah yes!” I turned around to see that there was indeed Wayne a few meters back walking to us, I waved at him before turning back to Leandre “Why don’t you like him? I promise he isn’t that of a jerk”

Ergil had to get his breath back and told Leandre “Stop making those funny faces, It will be cool”

“He doesn’t even really know Phaenna…” Leandre added

“He will help us choose,” I said “And he told me he wanted to spend time with me to I quote ‘admire my pretty face! How could I refuse?!” Flattery could get you anywhere with me.

Leandre was about to argue back when Wayne reached us “And I stand on my footing” he said hello to me by kissing deeply my cheek. Not that I was complaining but by the look on Leandre's face he probably, internally, was.

Wayne put on a sorry face before telling Leandre “I would kiss you too but I am afraid you wouldn’t take it well”

Leandre furrowed his brows and didn’t even respond.

Then, Wayne spoke to Ergil “You deserve a kiss but in your case, I’m afraid your parents will gut me –and you- alive if they ever discover it, so for safety measures-“ he blew a kiss at Ergil which Ergil politely smiled back.

Leandre was visibly getting a little irritated “Now can we go?”

“In fact-“ I said which made Leandre looks incredulous, “I invited someone else,  I promise he is the last, he is almost here,” I said addressing everyone

“No problem” Wayne responded

“The more the merrier! Who is it?” Ergil responded

“Surprise,” I told them smiling. Especially for Leandre.

Ergil and Wayne started speaking about some tv series after that, and I decided to go talk as privately as possible to an irritated Leandre.  When I was sure Ergil and Wayne weren’t really paying mind to us I whispered in Leandre’s ear “Don’t worry, I know you will like my second guest”

By the smirk on my face, he must know, now, who it is.

I was going to have so much fun.
