The three of us begin walking into the woods behind the house, I hadn't gotten a good look at it earlier on the account of being passed out. 

It's at least three stories, bigger than any houses I've ever been in. And definitely not one anyone I knew could afford. 

"Come on Tobe, we have to get going." Sebastian said. Making my face grow hot, he was the only person to ever use that nickname for me. 

I turn back to the twins and catch up with them. Erin is holding the map, focused on where we are going. 

"They should be about a mile north." She says holding a compass leading up in the right direction. 

She bites her lip, anxiety is written on her face.

An hour of walking later and we've come across a tree house, small but enclosed. A girl opens the door at the porch, tears in her eyes. 

"Steph!" Erin yells, running up the ladder and into her arms. Me and Sebastian follow carefully after. 

Erin is holding tightly onto a tall girl, slightly taller than me, with long blonde hair. 

"What happened?" Sebastian asked softly. 

"There was an old bear trap in the woods, Jason was hurt. We didn't run into anything though don't worry." Steph said still holding Erin. 

"How did you get him up here?" I asked. 

"Miller used to be a fireman. He brought him up. Who are you?" Steph asks. 

"Oh I'm October Jones, you must be Stephanie." I say holding out my hand. She takes it gently in hers, and for a moment my vision goes dark. All I can hear is the breeze, and the crunching of leaves in the distance. 

My senses return when Seb calls my name, taking my hand from Stephanie, putting his hand in mine. 

"Something is coming." Is all I can say. Everyone's eyes grow wide. Stephanie's face is filled with confusion. 

Seb pulls me into the tree house and the girls follow, shouting and locking the door behind them. 

Their are two men on the ground one with his leg wrapped and bloodied and the other holding his hand. 

"Thank god." The man not injured says sighing. "Sebastian, please help him." 

Sebastian jumps into action, unwrapping the bandage to begin working. 

Erin takes hold of my arm, I turn to her to see that she is looking out the window. "You were right." She says in awe. 

Sebastian stops what he's doing when he hears this. 

"Right about what?" The injured man asks. 

"Some one is here." Erin says. "It's one of them." 

I assume she means one of those monsters, unless they are in some kind of turf war I don't know about. I don't know if I can bring my self to look out the window, to see what's been hunting these people. 

I walk over to the window, looking out to where a man is standing. Immediately he turns his head to me, looking me in the eyes. 

Pain begins to bloom behind my eyes, more intense then anything I've ever felt. 

I can feel something dripping from my nose, I go to wipe it and find it's blood. I don't know if this is what they do to people to kill their victims. 

The pain is getting worse, standing is getting much harder. I grab onto Erin for support. 

I can hear them talking, but it's like I'm underwater. 

Someone is opening the door I want to stop them, why are they doing that? They will get hurt. I'm set onto the floor someone grasp my head and tips it forward holding a cloth to it. Suddenly I hear a gunshot, and the pain is gone. 

Everyone is shouting, my breathing is unstable. I look up and Seb is holding the cloth to my face, his eye brows scrunched up. 

"What the fuck was that?" Erin asked. 

"They don't normally do that?" I ask, how the fuck should I know. It's only my first day out here.
