Sebastian held me all night.
I woke up to his arms wrapped around my much bigger frame.
My face heats up in embarrassment and my stomach swirls with butterflies.
Sebastian begins to shift in his place, announcing he will be waking up soon.
A yawn erupts from his barely conscious form.
His eyes flutter open, and he stretches his body.
"How long have you been watching me Tober?" He asks with no hesitation.
"I, I just woke up." I say nervously. This creates a smile on his face.
"Liar." He whispers. Smiling sweetly at me. I push him slightly and sit up in bed. He sits up behind me, his red hair sticking up in different directions making me giggle.
I push my hands through his hair to smooth it out. His face heats up but he smiles at me none the less.
"Will you tell me what happened?" He whispers, reaching out for my hand.
"I thought I was back, somewhere else. I got the feeling that I get when I jump, or wake up from jumping" I say, trying not to make eye contact.
"What feeling?"
"It's pain, in my chest. I was back in a reality I was in a long time ago. But it was the worst one I've been in." I felt my hands shaking, my mind replaying the whispers over and over.
"We don't have to talk about it Tober. Let's get some breakfast okay?" Sebastian said pulling me out of bed.
Sebastian led me out of my room and door a long foreboding hallway, with dark red wallpaper and dark red carpet and not enough light. Many more large artwork is hung out in the hall, some statues on tables. Who could have owned a place like this?
Sebastian giggles when he sees me looking around in awe, tugging at my hand.
"Come on I'm hungry." He says leading me to a grand kitchen.
Erin, Stephanie, Steven, and Hailey are all eating together. Erin notices us first, greeting us with exuberance even for such an early morning. Me and her realize that Sebastian and I are still holding hands. Quickly I let go, feeling my face heating up.
"Boys there you are, come and eat." Hailey says with a soft smile. I walk over to one of the empty chairs and pull it out for Sebastian and motion him to sit, before sitting my self. Settling in I notice many pairs of eyes on me.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing, it's just nice that you still pull out the chair for Sebastian." Steven says.
I think back to when we were kids, it's started as a joke when Sebastian broke his leg, and then even when it was healed I continued to do it out of habit.
"Mom, we need to do a medical run soon." Erin said.
Hailey turned to her daughter, "Okay what do we need, and how much? It's about time we trade with Amber."
Erin had a list ready, unfolding it she began to read it out. "We are getting low on basic first aid care, and cold medicine but I think cold medicine can be low priority. We also need more anesthesia and anesthetics. And Steph needs her meds." The last sentence she adds nervously making brief eye contact with me.
Hailey smiles and thinks for a moment, "I believe we have enough to trade with Amber for the most important things. Why don't you four drive down there tonight? I'll give her a call and see what we can do." She gets up from the table and takes the list from Erin and puts a hand on her shoulder.
Once she's gone Steven gets up muttering about making sure the jeep is ready for us.
"Are you guys okay with going to Ambers?" Erin asks.
Sebastian nods smiling, and I nod as well although I'm still unsure what is going on.
Steph sighs in relief, "thank you both." She says her and Erin get up and leave the kitchen together presumably to get ready to leave. But they could be doing something else.
"How do you guys have eggs and fruit? This tastes fresh." I ask Sebastian looking at my meal.
"This house also has a huge farm, lots of animals. And a lot of land."
I look at him in awe.
"How did you guys get so lucky?"
He smiles laughing lightly,
"when this first started, we came across this house. It was just the three of us. We needed a place to sleep just for the night and we found this house. We knocked and a man named Simon let us in. He said he lived here but he couldn't stay for long and needed some one to look after the grounds and the animals. Said he was looking for missing family."
"He stayed for a week longer, he said that he didn't know how long he would be gone. But that if people came asking for help like we did and we could, to help them."
"Recently we've had to crack down on security but we've done what he's asked."
I was stunned. I quite literally never heard of someone with so much money and resources offering it to others.
"He almost doesn't sound real." I say still shocked.
"Yeah some times I think we imagined him, and that some one like him is to good to be true."
"No I know some one better." I say.
"Who?" Sebastian says face crumpled in confusion.
"You." I state simply.
