The moon was beautiful last night.

the stars woefully danced as she slept, 

for nothing ever will shine as bright,

In that, she took solace as they wept.

The moon was beautiful last night.

I heard sirens sing her their song,

but the moon only slept with delight,

because her voice was much more strong.

The moon was beautiful last night,

The wolfs knowing eyes reflected her glow,

but unlike them, nothing escaped her sight,

so she smiled cause there was nothing she did not know.

The moon was beautiful last night.

but the smog had covered her face,

so downwards she traveled in spite,

to cause blight on the human race.

The moon was beautiful last night

I watched entranced by her spell,

it was an unspeakable sight.

as I looked as she rose where she fell.

the moon was beautiful last night,

I watched the destruction she reaped,

she set our whole world alight,

she said we need watch how we keep.

 

the moon was beautiful last night, 

soon after destruction, she slept,

but, then I wonder at that sight,

how long will our grudge be true kept?
