Riley:
“Out of my way!” I shoved the nurse into the wall.
“Sir! You can’t leave!” She shouted. I ripped the tubes from my wrist and sprinted down the hallway. Running on the hospital floor gave me pins and needles but it didn’t matter. It didn’t matter that I could barely straighten my back or hold my head up. My mum was slouched on a waiting room bench at the entrance. “Riley?!” She yelled. Her eyes were coated in heavy darkness. Colour quickly returned to her face. “Riley! You’re awake-”
I ignored her. I didn’t even have a direction to run to and yet I couldn’t stop. She grabbed me by my arms and pulled me back. I collapsed there on the floor. And let out a shaky scream. “Mum! He was hurt wasn’t he?!”
“Who? Honey what’s going on?”
I just sat there and sobbed.
Lance:
I’ll see you now.
