The Demon King Just Wants To Leave!!!

[CH 4] COMPANIONS (PART 1)

[CH 4] COMPANIONS (PART 1)

Oct 16, 2021

It was a funny thought at first.

Well, more of a curiosity. Or loneliness? I was sitting in front of the bonfire, staring at the meat roasting over the fire. I managed to make myself a knife in order to take the deer apart. The results were me gaining yet another skill for Earth Element and a beautiful hunk of meat to eat.

However, as I sat by myself, I thought of something interesting.

Minions.

Specifically, minions made out of Nature Element. I was able to alter for the vines and roots to protrude thorns out of them from the fight before. It successfully impaled the deer. It now had multiple holes on its body to the point that I had to look away. I had a slight trypophobia with this stuff.

Anyway, back to the matter at hand. I wanted to experiment on this.

I looked at the ground, searching for a few seeds to use my magic on. I found a few on the ground and also noticed a fruit on the tree. I grabbed it and cut it in half. The red fruit with the shape of a literal butt had two seeds in each one.

I had more than enough now. I placed it on the ground and rubbed my chin in thought. It was a harmless experiment. I still had much of the leftover deer. I didn’t know how to cut it properly and thought that summoned creatures would do the trick. How so?

I once read something about this method in the novel.

Once again, I was being helped by the novel despite the author himself placed me in this goddamn situation in the first place. I turned on my phone and scrolled through the chapters. If I could remember properly, it was on the 789th chapter.

I had the chapter marked blue according to which kingdom or places Erazor visited. For example, the Howling Jungle was dark green while Greolla Empire was yellow. After a few scrolls, I found it.

It had something to do with Erazor’s journey to the elven kingdom. After weeks of wandering around with no lead whatsoever about the Demon King’s whereabouts, Erazor finally got himself a clue. He caught a Baron Demon that was disguising himself as a traveling merchant. The Baron Demon unfortunately leaked just a little bit of dark energy, causing Erazor to see through his disguise.

Erazor tortured the Baron Demon in order to gather any type of information but his mouth was sealed shut until his death. I had to commend the demon’s loyalty to Kannech, though.

The torture wasn’t really described in detail but I was still repulsed by a few methods that Erazor used. Nevertheless, he went through the Demon Baron’s bags and found a lot of suspicious items from an elven kingdom on the east side of the map called Navaroth. Rumors had it that the ruler of the kingdom was concealing herself as an elf. In reality, she was the supposed fifth strongest Demon Lord.

That wasn’t why I was scrolling through this story though. Sure, it helped me to learn more of the kingdom but I wasn’t planning on visiting a literal magic kingdom of elven people anytime soon. I didn’t have a death wish.

I was trying to find information regarding how they created giant soldiers using Nature Element and seeds. I finally found it after a few minutes of scrolling.

[The method is quite simple,” the old elf man said. Elven species were known for their youthful look but from his clear wrinkles and long beard, that man had lived far too long as an elf. “It’s the best type of summoned creatures where you don’t need to channel a continuous amount of mana to keep them up and running. First, you need to channel much-needed mana into these seeds. After that, you just need to imbue a little bit of spell called “Living Earth” that is derived from Nature Element. It’s just to stimulate their consciousness. After that, you’ll have yourself an extremely loyal summon. They might act similar to intelligent creatures, but they don’t possess any knowledge and need a purpose to move.”]

In the novel, the Navaroth Kingdom used these giant summoned creatures made from ancient seeds in order to protect the kingdom’s border. The kingdom had tall walls surrounding them, making them closed off to outsiders. The giants plastered themselves all over the walls to create this illusion that the vines were just wild weeds growing all over the walls instead.

Whenever danger arose, they would be activated and rushed into battle with no thought whatsoever regarding their own lives. The perfect soldiers.

Erazor never found out whether the rumor was true or not. He was sidetracked when the seventh Demon Lord revealed himself in the Howling Jungle. The seventh Demon Duke was later on sealed. It was the same with Xertor, the Hydra. Honestly, now that I realized it, Kannech’s timing with saving his subordinates was perfect every time.

Not wanting them dying and have their souls vanished from the world forever, Kannech would instead capture them and seal them away. Even after the ending, the author never mentioned what happened to them. If I could take a guess, their whereabouts would be revealed in the sequel. Unless the author got rid of my memories of this situation, I would never touch the stupid sequel in my life. Gross.

In annoyance, I started to channel my mana into the seeds that I’d placed on the ground. I could see blue-like lights slowly traveled out of my fingertips and seeped themselves into the seeds.

Slowly, the seeds began to glow until at some point, they stop consuming my mana. I assumed that they had enough. Next was the spell called Living Earth. I didn’t know much information about it but according to what the old elf said in the novel, I just had to give the seeds some sort of CPR?

I used my Nature Element and imagined trying to resuscitate the seeds so their hearts would beat for the first time. I actually had to chuckle. The thought of trying to pump a seed’s heart was funny to me for some reason.

However, it worked like it did in the novel. A few seconds later, the seeds began to convulse on the ground until it mutated into some kind of human-like creatures made of plants.

It wasn’t exactly what I imagined like it was in the novel. I guessed it had to do with the fact that mana was different for each individual. I was a human inside a Demon King’s body. So, I assumed they’d copy what I was used to seeing in my daily life back on my planet?

There were five summoned creatures laying on the ground right in front of me. I noticed a sixth one that looked rather small and…cute?

It had that hamster look to it. I picked it up and was quite shocked when it squeaked at me. “Kyu! Kyu!”

The rest of the five began to stand up. Their heights looked to be shorter than mine. Around 6’5 if I wasn’t mistaken. I still had the hamster plant summoned creature thingy on my palm when I began to address them. I needed to mimic Kannech’s personality since my human self was quite dorky.

“I welcome you to the world of the living. I am your master, Kann—I mean Kevin,” I cleared my throat to hide that error. Kannech was dead, dammit! “Can you speak properly?”

One of them raised their hands and shook its head. It looked like a guy. He had long hair that was already tied into a ponytail. His chest was bare and I had to frown when I noticed that all of them literally look like models. Well, models covered in moss and vines.

Was my subconscious trying to say that I wanted some good-looking women and men made out of plant seeds to stare at? Three men, two women, and a hamster. How peculiar.

They weren’t wearing anything and thank goodness none of them had…those down there. The women might possess some breasts but nothing too lustful. They were covered in moss after all. Hollowed-out eyes were staring at me.

“Hmm…” I spoke. “No matter. It seems you are still able to understand me after all. I have a task for all of you.”

Kevin is excited when the book he’s been obsessing with is about to have a sequel to it. “The Benevolent King” has been keeping him happy for the past five years and after hearing that the author will soon release a sequel, he’s exhilarated.

Unfortunately, he finds himself in a familiar situation of being teleported to another world when he wakes up the next day.

Not only that, Kevin has become a character in the novel but not the person that he thinks he’s going to be. He’s unfortunately in the body of the Demon King, Kannech, or more known so as the main antagonist of the novel series.

Not wanting to meet with the protagonist and endure the same fate as Kannech, Kevin runs away and tries to live a secluded life. His main goal is to get back to his old world and not die a miserable death from the human kingdom. Well, that’s the original plan anyway.
