My five companions curiously walked over to see what I was working on. Hazel was casually being carried the big burly guy Freddo on his shoulders.
I rubbed my chin in thought. For the past three days, I’d been working on this clone of mine. I was able to fully control him like a robot where I could see what he saw.
However, I wasn’t in Kannech’s range yet where he could control them while being conscious of doing multiple things at once. During the fight with Erazor, Kannech managed to unleash over 100 clones of him each with their own sets of consciousness. I was trying to reach that level.
As of now, I could only control one person at a time, meaning that my real body had to sleep in order to control my clone.
I also had another problem with this clone.
He looked like Kannech!
This was a major problem! I didn’t want to walk out of the cave looking like the dead Demon King! I had to change his appearance. So, I channeled my Illusion skill onto this clone and changed him to my desired look.
The look that I chose was simple. Kevin Morren.
It had been a while since I thought of my own name. I only saw it when looking at my character information. Back in my world, I would hear my name being called every day at work.
It took a minute for me to construct my own body and face. Illusion spell also worked if you imagined the person that you wanted to look like. I’d been staring at myself for the past 20 something years so I knew myself more than others.
A few seconds later, my clone stopped shining and in front of me was a short naked man without genitalia.
I had short brown hair and my height was around 5’10 back in my world. I wasn’t one to work out so I had flab all over. When I tried to squeeze the clone’s biceps, it was…squishy. No muscles whatsoever. Pathetic. The only good feature I had was the light blue eyes the same color as the sky. But even then, it caused me to suffer from astigmatism which was being farsighted and nearsighted at the same time.
I decided to make another clone of Kannech right beside Kevin Morren for comparison. I had to crouch down to even stare at my own face.
Damn, this won’t do.
I was planning on hunting animals today before going out into the human town called Mageiros. I was planning on avoiding any human settlement but curiosity got over me. Plus, I was lacking in information. I needed to know the Hero’s whereabouts first.
I decided to alter my looks. I even got myself a lore for this character called Kevin Morren. All I had to do now was shaping him into the appropriate looks for this world.
Firstly, I changed his hair to be black and styled it in an uppercut. He also had a slight tan to his skin that was perfectly suited for his lore. My milk-colored skin would be weird for them especially when I had to tell them where I came from.
I kept that blue eyes and added a bushy beard on his face. It was also for the lore. I planned on having him shaved it to create this five o’clock shadow once I got to the town.
I also made him taller, around 6’2. It was weird to make him shorter than my summoned creatures but it would be weirder if he was too tall. Next, I changed his whole body to be bulkier but not too much. It was the right number of muscles and the right number of veins protruding on his body. I didn’t want him to look like a berserker.
More like a mage that traveled around the world fighting monsters. That was his lore, basically.
I added more hair to his chest and…left…the lower part alone. I wasn’t planning on whoring myself at the town. Finally, he was done. He looked like me but better-looking. No more flab and squishy arms. He was also taller and had this aura of mystery on him.
I had to let out a cunning chuckle.
Hazel was clapping his hands enthusiastically when he saw my finished clone. If he could talk, I knew he would say something like: “Woah! Amazing, Master!”
I let out a proud smile and huffed out my chest. I was proud of myself. Plus, this was exhilarating. I was bored out of my mind in this cave and reconstructing this clone was the same as trying to make your avatar before you played an RPG game.
I looked over to Vienna and didn’t even have to say anything before she nodded. She left the group and came back with a few sets of clothes that she’d made. It was created from the deer’s fur and plants. I told her to make it elastic just in case my clone changed his shape. She was quick to learn the meaning.
Vienna approached Kevin Morren and dressed him properly.
Kevin Morren. His lore was simple but believable.
He was a mage apprentice of a High Archmage in the far south of the map, not known to people. After the death of the Demon King Kannech, his teacher had ordered him to venture out and hone his skills to the fullest.
He had been wandering the new continents and regions for a few years now before he arrived at the Howling Jungle and met the human town of Mageiros. He was going to stay there for a few days before venturing out again.
It was a perfectly safe backstory for my character. Plus, I knew quite a lot about this world so if they were to question me about a few things, I was confident that I could answer them.
Vienna finished dressing Kevin by the time I was done with the thought. I gave him a once-over.
Yesterday, I had to do something about the clothes. His outfit was made purposefully to look worn out.
Vienna was a little bit sad since she took a lot of care to make it but I had no choice. If Kevin were to wear something fancy that had never been worn before, it would be weird.
So, we had to watch as Hazel gave the set of clothing a simple wrecking. Vienna was being held back by Valencia and Ramona. I was weirded out by how my companions acted so much like humans but at least it gave them personalities. I wasn’t about to complain because of that.
So now, the person in front of me was wearing a set of clothing that looked like it had seen better days. His head was covered with a hood and he wasn’t wearing any shoes. His pants were leather that was being wrapped around his body to act as pants. His chest was a bit bare but the cloak hid it well.
“Excellent work, Hazel, Vienna,” I said.
Vienna was still sulking while Hazel puffed out his chest in pride. He just got praised by his master which was one of the few things that I found out he loved. Well, all of them loved it when I praised them. Like little puppies.
Speaking of puppies, I placed Mocha on the clone’s shadow.
“You are going to follow me outside, all right?”
“Kyu! Kyu!” He squeaked and immediately went to sleep again. Damn. Out cold just like that.
I patted Vienna’s head and she loosened a bit. I knew she was sad about me destroying her stuff but it had to be done.
“Don’t worry. I’ll bring you more fur to sew after this,” I smiled. She nodded shyly at me.
The plan was set in motion. I was going to control this clone, hunt a few animals, and ventured out for a few days before I come back.
Before that though, I had to conceal myself. Thorough protection was needed. I prepared myself somewhat a grave on the ground where I would lay there unconscious.
Freddo was going to use Stoneweaver spell to cover my main body and made it seem like the hole was never made. He was tasked with protecting me in this cave while the other four—well, five—were going to accompany me outside.
I gave him a nod before laying on the grave. I didn’t need much food for a few days anyway. Plus, when I was controlling the clone, my main body shut down completely. I couldn’t feel anything from Kannech’s body.
I closed my eyes and immediately took control of Kevin Morren. It took a few blinks for me to properly see but after that, I witnessed as Kannech’s body was covered by rocks. A few seconds later, the spot looked like it was never touched in the first place.
“Freddo, I am counting on you. Protect this main body from any intruder. If you can’t handle it, make sure you contact me immediately,” I ordered.
He gave me a nod before plastering himself onto the wall. He looked like harmless wild weeds.
The other four were kneeling in front of me. With a wave of my hand, I dispersed of Living Earth and they became seeds again. I placed them in my pockets before putting the mini-refrigerator around my shoulders.
I was set to move.
That day, a hidden entrance of a cave was opened and was mysteriously covered again by a new person carrying a weird box with him.
He began his adventures.
