For some reason the attacking in the northern town stopped, It was exactly where I told that Vampire to please stop attacking.
Strangely Darklion and I were still in communication, I didn't know who I was talking to yet. I had the idea that he was a Darklion's soldier. I also felt good talking to him. I decided never told my father about this friendship I had made with this vampire.
My father said they were irrational beings, thirsty for blood and revenge. But this vampire wasn't like that. He was rational, and he also was clever. At first, he was arrogant with me, but as time passed by, he stopped behaving like that, he was "sweet and kind" with me.
One day he tried to communicate with me, but I wasn't there. A bad feeling passed through his mind. He was suddenly in my room, he walked around my room waiting for me. He stopped at a desk near the window. I have there a notebook and it was open. I had drawn something, in it. When he approached it, he noticed that was his face.
He took another step to get closer and to look at the draw in my notebook. Then, footsteps were heard. He hides trying to not being seen.
I wasn't feeling well that day. I felt weak since I've been practicing to control my magic; some of the doctors bring me back to my room. They left me on my bed, and they left the room.
He remained silent, but still observing me.
Irhin- I know you're there. Why are you hiding?
The room remains silent for a moment. He decided to come out of where he was hiding. It was the first time we were face to face; I didn't expect him to be right there in my room.
He was tall, heavyset man with long straight hair, and it looked silvery. His skin was white as snow. He had a fiercer look, and those beautiful hazel eyes. A slim face, with delicate features and then there were those full, red lips like blood itself. His expression changed as he faced me, and a subtle smile crossed his lips.
Darklion - Are you alright?
Irhin - Well, I'm a bit tired... that's all.
Darklion - You weren't here when I tried to reach you.
Irhin - I didn't feel well this afternoon. My dad took me to the doctors down the town.
Darklion - What happened to you?
Irhin- I have to help a family who was attacked by vampires, the little kid was seriously injured as well.
Darklion - Which town?
Irhin - was one who is located in the southern reign.
Darklion - What happened to them?
Irhin- I don't really know. He was bitten on the leg.
Darklion paused for a moment, he was looking directly to my eyes and then, he added.
Darklion - You look so pale princess, I know your skin is colored and you used to have pink chicks, but now you look... different.
Irhin - I'm alright...
Darklion – Is it because you use your abilities, that's why this happens to you?
Irhin - Not at the beginning, but now is it happening every time I use it, my energy is consumed so fast. But I just need to rest to get better.
Darklion remains in silent for a moment. He has a concerned expression in his face.
Darklion – I got to go princess...
Irhin - thank you for coming today. Is nice to finally see your beautiful face in person.
He steps back, and he turned his back on me.
Darklion- Irhin?
Irhin- Yes?
Darklion- You are a beautiful woman...
Before I could react or even answer to what Darklion had told me, he disappeared.
I noticed a change in him. He seemed to be worried, he always expressed bad about us, the humans. He was so cold and distant. But now, he just says those words - "you are a beautiful woman"-
The days passed, they became weeks and then months. Darklion and I had become close friends. He had been feeling something different about me. I had been the only human that made him remember his old self, his human part: that part of his existence that he decided to leave it in the past after he knew about his father's death.
One night Darklion appeared in my room, it was because he wasn't able to reach me again; everything was dark... something very unusual because I was always there, waiting for him. This time I wasn't feeling well again, and I took medicine to sleep.
He walked in the room thoughtfully, he was looking at me while I was sleeping. He heard voices down the hall, and he vanished. His mere presence waned throughout the palace. The royal guards felt a strange presence around them and immediately reported it to Lestat.
His fierce hazel eyes scanned the palace, the royal guards were nervous. Even when Darklion's aura had changed, it was still an evil aura. Lestat felt it. The curse he had carried on his arm had somehow been directly connected to Darklion, for that reason Lestat knew and recognized that presence. The same of the dark palace, the same of that moment.
Lestat- He's here...
At Lestat's confirmation the king's guards became even more nervous. Some royal soldier went to the king's room. They were on guard. Lestat walked through the palace, as if he knew where Darklion's presence came from.
Standing in the corridor that led to my room, he addressed Darklion.
Lestat
Darklion didn't utter a single word. But his eyes fell on him from the distance. He recognized him; it was that soldier who had managed to infiltrate his castle. Just hearing his voice make him feel angry.
He left his tranquility and let out his anger. It felt like darkness invaded the king's palace, Lestat felt a burning in his right arm, right where his scar was.
Lestat- where are you DARKLION?
A hissing was heard throughout the palace, then his voice was heard, so fierce and poisonous.
Darklion- Who do you think you are to pronounce my name?
Lestat heard his voice for the first time. Lestat was nervous, he knew of the greatness and power of Darklion, if he was in the palace his king was in danger.
He took strength and courage.
Lestat- Show yourself.
The hissing in the air was heard and an echo in his voice. Darklion replied laughing out loud.
Darklion- before you?
A cold laugh continued to be heard coming from Darklion.
Darklion- You don't deserve my mere presence before you, human. I'd kill you and your king in a single blink.
Lestat felt the threat directed at him and the king.
Lestat- Don't you dare to touch my king and his family!!
Lestat was in the corridor that goes to my room, he went to the mirror by the window. He saw the shadow reflected on the floor, just behind him however, through the mirror Lestat didn't see anyone, but looking down he could see the silhouette of someone behind him. he turned on his feet, and he was just there, A slim face with a pale color, hazel eyes staring fiercely at him with an evil smile on his red lips. He revealed part of his fangs, thus revealing an expression of greatness and superiority. Lestat could only appreciate his silhouette, but he couldn't see the entire being of that Vampire.
Lestat took a few steps back and hit the window with his back. His knees gave in, and he fell on the floor, after Darklion vanished. He was still in shock. An expression of magnificence, and greatness before a human without a single extraordinary quality. The intrigue of knowing that his food was human blood, and he was precisely a human.
All of this went through his mind as Darklion disappeared, made him feel inferior and insignificant.
He took a deep breath, and then he understood that ability; That greatness and superiority made him feel to all who were in front of him, his victims.
Lestat- I'm not insignificant Darklion!!! I'm going to destroy you...
Lestat stood up and started walking towards the exterior. He was about to put his sword away when he looked my room open, he entered to check on me. I was sleeping.
Lestat- Has Irhin seen a vampire before?
Just thinking about me being near a vampire was unacceptable, his malefic presence could hurt me so bad, he thought.
Lestat- May be that's the reason why she's getting this sick?? it's impossible. Irhin couldn't have been in the presence of a devilish aura, she wouldn't have resisted it. I felt like I felt in front of him, how would she have felt in front of him if by any chance she got in the presence of that terrific devil?
Lestat remained silent, completely focused on his thoughts. The wind came through the window and subtly moved a few pages of the small notebook in my drawer. Lestat's distracted eyes went straight to the notebook and then he turned the page.
Written in a beautiful calligraphy:
"What changes in me was the inevitable.
I met you and love took from me the ability to run away.
I lost the war I could not win.
You conquered me.
But I will admit, I did not put much of a fight.
I did not want to win. I wanted to lose.
Very much
B."
**********
Lestat-
Lestat read that short paragraph written on some lost sheets of my notebook; I had not read them yet. Because they were a few sheets behind where I had stopped drawing.
Lestat
He searched a few pages back and found a page where I had written something.
"Your love is far more than I need,
but you leave me wanting more.
To you my heart will always lead.
Your love is what I have been waiting for.
I MUST love you always, my beloved...
you have loved me many days and loved me oh so well...
-Irhin"
*******
Right in that moment Lestat heard steeps in the corridor outside my room. He took the little notebook and put it back in the side table and he went out of my room. At this point he was angry; he knew for sure that I was feeling something special for someone; those words couldn't be written for someone who had never experienced love. He felt betrayed, for some reason he felt that way even though he never told me what he feels.
