~ * Beginning of Chapter 2 * ~
Kein hoped that Barnaby made it to the mountains safe and sound. She did kind of feel bad that she just sent him away even though he wanted to stay with her. Kein just couldn’t let the poor little buck get hurt. She wouldn’t forgive herself if he had gotten hurt. She snapped her fingers, repairing the trees to their original state before she burnt them down. Her rosemary was also fixed and tucked in between her breasts again. She made her way towards a nearby stream. She stripped her clothes off as she began to get into the water to wash up. As the blood began to leave her skin she lowered her body fully into the water. She submerged her body into the water, the water swallowing her body whole. Drifting into the darkness of the water Kein soon began to lose her mind in the water.
‘Kein...Run away Kein…’
‘Run away my child…’
Kein turned her body in the cold water, wondering who was calling out to her. The voices sounded so familiar but felt so distant.
‘Kein! Run away!’
Kein’s eyes opened up, only seeing the darkness of the water around her. She glanced up and saw the shimmering surface of the water. She wondered how she got so deep into the water. She glanced down at her ankle and saw someone dragging her down. Normally, Kein wouldn’t even give a damn and kill the person on the spot but this so-called ‘person’ was anything but a person. The figure glanced up into Kein’s eyes, staring soulessly at her. The figure let out a horrible ear bleeding scream. It clawed at Kein’s legs, preventing her from going anywhere.
‘Kein....! Kein!’
Kein’s heart pounded with fear. Kein felt an emotion she hasn't felt in a while. Fear. Fearing that she might lose her life before restoring her right to the throne and fixing her kingdom. Kein wasn’t ready to just die and give up. She tried to scream but being underwater only allowed water to freely flow into her lungs. Kein choked on the water, her lungs giving up on her as the last bit of oxygen left her body. She extended a hand towards the surface of the water while placing the other hand over her heart.
Kein began to slip in and out of consciousness. Looking up at the water shimmering from above she began to accept her fate. Her chest caving in caused her to sob whole drowning from being dragged deeper into the water.
‘Someone...Save me…’
Kein’s eyes closed as her body drifted into the depths of the water.
‘My dear sweet sister...you can’t die like this…”
A soft husky voice filled up Kein’s blank mind. She was not stuck in her mind, a mind that was dark just like the water she was unconscious in. She was crying. For the first time, Kein was crying. She glanced down at her hands, they were small. Instead of being in her normal body, Kein was in her younger self’s body.
‘J-Just go away…!’
Kein hurled up tighter as she cried into the hands of sadness and fear.
‘My dear sweet sister...Why do you cry in sadness? What is wrong?’
Kein turned around towards whoever was talking towards her and yelled. Her beast side corrupts her hand and eyes.
‘I caused nothing but a mess! Go away! I’m a monster! Just let me die! Why won’t you just let me die?!’
Kein’s beastly eyes widened as she stared up at a tall boy. Her red eyes matched his. The boy stood tall with gelled back black hair, peach skin, and nude lips that matched the scar that was right above his left upper lip.
‘Dear sister of mine...Death isn’t the answer nor is anger...Trust me…’
Kein lunged herself at the boy claiming to be related to her.
‘I am not your sister! I have no siblings…!’
The boy sighed before rolling his eyes.
‘Kein Silen (Sea-len) Blouss! I’m Dyclen Lunair Blouss, also known as, your older brother...Well I was your older brother until mother killed your sister and I, but that is a story for another time..’
Kein’s eyes widened as the words that left Dyclen’s mouth left her in shock. Dyclen took out a similar rosemary that Kein had from the pocket of his black dress pants.
‘Only our mother would make a rosemary like this…’
Kein’s tears came to a halt as she stood up from the floor. Comfort was what she needed the most, and seeing someone crouching down with open arms was all Kein needed. She ran over towards her brother and threw her arms around his neck, encasing him in a hug. The crying stirred up again as Dyclen comforted his little sister.
‘There there Keiny...there there…’
‘I don’t wanna be the monster anymore! I hate it! Make the monster go away!’
Dyclen hugged her back tightly as he as well began to cry. Understanding what she was going through, Dyclen had to swallow back his tears and calm his baby sister down. He cleared his throat before singing one of their mother’s songs.
‘My dear sweet baby~ You have grown
My dear sweet baby~ Know you're not alone
There are people in this world who are filled with bad
And people in the world who are filled with good
Just cut those liars some slack and let them go
So you can soar
So you can fly
So you can up high in the sky
So you can grow
So you can change
And protect your name
My baby~
My sweet baby~
…
Even if they see you as a monster…
Know that you’re not…
I would never raise a monster…
I only raise the children that I love!
I only raise…
The children that I~
Love~’
Dyclen stopped singing and heard tiny snores. He picked up his little sister and carried her towards a small room. He opened the door and a blinding white light surrounded Kein’s mind.
‘It’s not nap time just yet little sis…’
Kein’s eyes shot open as she was now on the surface. The grass tickled her body as she turned over and threw up some water. Once all the water was out of her system, Kein snapped her fingers which placed some clothes onto her. She wore a short lilac dress with black butterfly heels. She held onto her head trying to remember what just happened but her mind drew a blank. The only thing she could remember was Dyclen hugging her with a smile.
She stood up, her drenched hair drooping against her feet. She walked towards a nearby tree stump that was surrounded by white roses and laid herself against the stump. She exhaled deeply, she finally had a moment of peace to think and relax all the sore muscles in her body.
The roses that were surrounding her went into a full bloom, spreading a white mist into the air. Kein inhaled the mist, her body sliding down the stump, laying on the soft grass. Drifting off into another slumber, but this slumber was going to be a little different for Kein.
Meanwhile…
Barnaby and the wolf finally made it towards the mountains in which Kara was. He glanced around and looked for her but he just couldn’t find her. He asked everyone in the village if they’ve seen her yet no one knew her. Well no one except the store merchant. The lady in there pointed towards the top of the mountain. Barnaby sighed before thanking the lad, with that he rushed off on the wolf towards the mountains.
When he finally made it towards the near peak of the mountains, he found a royal carriage.
“Finally...I found you...Kara…” Barnaby said with a bitter tone of voice.
He swung his deer legs off of the wolf and rushed out towards the carriage that was stuck in a halt. He heard screaming coming from the carriage.
“I’M NOT A PERVERT!”
Barnaby flinched by how loud the voice was. He knocked on the carriage door quietly. The carriage became silent as the door swung open. Kara poked her head out from the carriage and glanced down at Barnaby.
“Well aren't you the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen?!~”
Barnanby mentally rolled his eyes before grabbing onto Kara’s hand.
“Yeah yeah, I’m half deer, now since we got out of the way I need you to come with me!”
Kara snatched her hand away from Barnaby as Sulian glared at the small buck.
“I’m not going anywhere-”
“Kein sent me after you! To prove she did, she gave me this!”
Barnaby took out the objects Kein gave him and gave it to Kara. Kara’s eyes widened as she realised she was tricked by Mikacellia and her sister. She easily picked up Sulian, got out the carriage, and got onto the large wolf with Barnaby.
“Let’s go save me wif- I mean...Let’s go save Princess Kein”
Barnaby nodded his head as the wolf broke out into a sprint. The coachman jumped out of his seat and yelled for Kara.
“M-M’LADY!”
Kara held her head up high as the wind blew through her hair.
“Hang on Kein...I’m coming!”
Barnaby didn’t like Kara nor her words, and she was gonna find out the hard way.
