“How many times have I warned you, Isleen, not to surprise me? I almost spilled Botulinum toxin!” Sigreen murmured as she looked about at her colleagues making new things.
Agent Isleen stared at her as if she were nuts, her gaze drawn to the chemical she was working on. She inquired, leaning against the wall. “Botuli-what?”
The other scientists shushed her, but Agent Isleen only sneered at them and turned to facepalm her twin.
Sigreen hauled her out of their lab, rolling her eyes. "How many times have I told you about this, twinnie?" Wear a lab coat if you enter the building. If you did it again, my lovely twin sister-“
Her twin's words were cut short by her. “Yeah, but aren't you glad to see my lovely face?”
Sigreen gave her a disdainful look in response to her remark. She shook her head, evidently repulsed by her own twin. “What a lovely face you have. Where?”
Snorted Agent Isleen. “Well, we're twins who resemble each other. If I'm unattractive, you're unattractive as well.” She teased, wagging her tongue amusingly.
Sigreen let out a sigh. “What brought you here?” Her voice was filled with annoyance. Sigreen despises being disturbed during her peaceful time in the lab. It's what she enjoys doing. And aggravating her is something Agent Isleen enjoys doing. It's almost like a pastime. Isn't it a sister's responsibility to bother her sibling?
“I only want to irritate you,” she assured her twin.
Sigreen only chuckled and fixed his gaze on her. “Great. You succeeded, and I'm now irritated. Now you must depart.” She remarked sarcastically before turning around and returning to her task, leaving her alone.
Agent Isleen let out a sigh. She occasionally believes that her nerdy twin sister is embarrassed because she is her twin.
“Hello there, lovely.” Someone was whistling behind her. She doesn't have to turn back to see that it was Agent Blue, yet another moron at the headquarters. He was dressed in his normal way, all blue from head to toe, from his slacks to his shirt, and she had a feeling even his underwear was blue. He isn't known as Agent Blue for nothing. It was his preferred color. She stared at him, clearly not in the mood to annoy him.
“Slept on the wrong side of the bed again?” smirked the corners of his lips. My sweetheart, you will seem more lovely if you smile.”
The problem with them is this. While she enjoys making fun of Sigreen, this guy enjoys making fun of her.
Her taunting was tinged with affection for her sibling, whereas this guy is simply obnoxious. “Eww, don't refer to me like that.”
“Why? I'm sure you'll enjoy it.”
“As if I would, with your excessively showy fashion sense?” She had a question.
“What's wrong with the color blue?” he said, chuckling. It's the color of the sky, the ocean, and hope.”
He, on the other hand, makes sense. She pondered this.
“Plus, I'm sorry to inform you that if you end up liking me, it's because I love someone else, and it's not you.”
This guy's confidence may be so overwhelming at times that she couldn't keep up. She almost grabbed the vase next to them and threw it at his head, hoping to rouse him up, but she restrained herself. For all we know, she'd get fired.
Agent Isleen then clenched her teeth and took a big breath. “I don't think so. Agent Blue, you're abhorrent.”
Her watch's pager-like device beeped at that same moment. Glancing down, she switched down the volume and felt the smartphone tremble with the notice; even Agent Blue came to a halt and nodded at her, leaving her alone. This watch is given to all agency members, allowing the administrative staff to reach them no matter where they are; missions are an exception.
It carries the fundamental functionality of any smartwatch, allowing them to check our health, record their successes as an agent, function as a tracking device, and self-destruct when in the hands of opponents.
As the screen goes dark, the watch's resting face changes to resemble a clock, with the agency's logo and two birds circling the center of the dial in a full circle, each holding a leaf in their teeth.
“Non corvus corvum trahere de in oculo alterius.” It was the agency's slogan, written on the band of the watch, which translates to "a crow will not take out the eye of another crow."
Mr. Martins, the director of Cypher Intelligence, appears on the holographic screen and says, "All agents. On to the conference room. ASAP.”
She agreed and went to the toilet to freshen up because her room was on the 15th level and she was still on the third. She reapplied lipstick on her lips and let her ginger hair fall down her back, grabbing a tissue to wipe the perspiration off her cheeks. She entered the conference room, which was mostly empty, after taking the elevator to the 13th level. The scientists and personnel were among the 200 people that lived in this building. They only had 50 spies in all, but there were only 10 here right now because others were on their own missions all over the world.
Almost everyone became quiet as Agent Hira came. She rolled her eyes, as she usually did when she wanted to draw everyone's attention to herself.
Mr. Martins and his secretary, Mr. Warner, entered the room next. He sat in the head chair near the rectangular table with a solemn expression on his face. The conference area was extremely large...enough to hold 30 agents.
Mr. Martins looked around the room, asking, "Are we all set?" Agents Blue, Ariel, Dollar, and Bulb were among those present, as were elite agents such as Agent Wave and his subordinate Agent Hira, as well as several whose names Agent Isleen had forgotten. She wasn't forgetful; she just didn't bother memorizing their names because most of them were either killed or went missing as a result of their perilous assignment.
