As they sat in their separate seats, they just nodded hello. Counting Mr. Martins and Mr. Warner, there are now eleven agents in the room.
Mr. Warner touched something in his tablet and remarked, "Agents Rin and Rick are still in India, Mr. Martins." “Agent Rook and Tris traveled to Poland in search of information on the orb. It was all a hoax.”
Mr. Martins inhaled deeply and rubbed his temples. “I'm sure you can guess why I summoned everyone here. I want you to seek further information regarding the orb as soon as possible.”
When the projector turned on, the lights darkened. The screen in front of them displayed a picture of a white stone. Mr. Warner rose to speak. “Please allow me to go through the particulars with you.”
A picture of an elderly guy flashed on the screen. “Garrett Norman is a chemist who owns the Oracle factory, discovered a new and rare metal called oryx, and created the orb weapon.” Orb functions similarly to a nuclear weapon but is smaller and more compact, taking the shape of a diamond.”
He took a moment to reflect. “It has the capacity to wipe out an entire nation in a single attack. Garrett is being pursued by the government as well as any other unlawful group. We have to obtain it first.”
Agent Hira spoke up, "I'm sorry Mr. Martins, but the K-9 gang is still torturing our agents back in Rome." She wrinkled her brows. It won't be long before the Cypher Agency crumbles.” "I told you about our five fallen friends yesterday," she hesitated. First and foremost, we must concentrate all of our efforts on K-9.”
“That's something I'm aware of. However, faith in the government is eroding. They thought we were betraying them.” Mr. Martins let out a long sigh. “Once they discovered our illicit weapon shipments and our association with some organization...we were done. We must offer them what they desire.”
“Isn't it funny how ironic it is? We apprehend criminals and execute official commands, hoping for their safety... just to conceal our misdeeds behind their backs.” Another voice came through the door. Looking at it, it was evident that it was the top agent, Agent Wave, who had arrived late for their rendezvous.
Agent Isleen sighed, such a stunning arrival. He sat across from her, looking at everyone until his gaze was drawn to Agent Hira, at which point he hastily averted his gaze. Isleen cocked her brow toward them. That's suspicious....something is wrong with the famous crime partners.
“After all, we are a non-governmental organization.” Dollar volunteered to Wave from right next to me. “We provide facts, and they provide a budget. It's a win-win scenario.”
“But it's unjust.” Agent Blue was added to her right. “We perform all of the dirty work, but the CIA gets all of the credit...” She looked at them with her eyes rolled. They did, however, have a valid argument.
Mr. Martins gave them a look that made them all stop talking. From across the room, he turned to Agent Cris. “How are the shipments coming along?”
“Everything is in order, sir. Our relationship with the Pentagon remains robust. Russia, along with Germany, Hong Kong, and India, agreed to accept the shipments.”
“That's fantastic,” Martins stated. “I'll give you assignments while gathering information on the orb at the same time. All we need is that and K-9.”
"Non corvus corvum trahere de in oculo alterius." He said this while dismissing all of the agents present.
“I'm going to the gym. Agent Isleen overheard Agent Wave remark to Agent Nova, "Now." They don't appear to be getting along today. Mr. Warner then summoned her, despite her natural curiosity.
“Is this your second expedition, Mr. Warner?” She had a question.
He nodded and said, "Yes, Agent Isleen, I have a task for you." It was obvious to her. Just when she was going to take a breather. Being an agent, on the other hand, is a difficult job.
He then used his iPad to navigate and displayed something on the screen. A photograph shows a street with graffiti street signs on the walls.
Her brow furrowed. “How do you feel about it?”
“Are these indications familiar to you?”
She rubbed her brows in response. This appears to be a familiar situation. Inside, there was a circle with an X. There's nothing to worry about. She'd heard of it and had just seen it over the city walls. “It's a gang sign,” she remarked firmly as she crossed her arms in front of her.
“This is not your typical gang,” he said, shaking his head. We suspect they are being led by a mafia. We must locate their superior. We've also got a suspect.”
Another photograph appeared on the screen, this time of a man dressed in a suit. She couldn't keep the gasp from leaving her mouth. She mumbled something. It's my ex, I swear. She kept a straight expression, dreading what he would say next.
“Are you acquainted with him?” He enquired. “I know you had contact with the Russian-German CEO of the Makarov Company. Mr. Martins had informed me about it...but I'll keep it a secret for your sake.”
She inhaled deeply. What's the point of me? Damn it.
“I want you to collect proof, to verify whether this billionaire bachelor is truly the mafia leader behind all of this. This is an order from the CIA before they make a move. They don't want to take any chances, so they leave it to us.”
She scoffed. Oh, yeah, the CIA is employing them as its dogs. They're too scared to deal with stuff like this and claim all the credit while they did all the work.
“You are free to use whichever approach you like. However, keep in mind that time is money. You have got one month to do this task.” He brought it up to her.
She rose up and sighed. “Why not delegate this mission?”
“You have the advantage of already knowing him. Didn't you want to be a great agent, after all? That's why I selected you: I know you want it. Russia is the aim. You'll be masquerading as Mia Ivanov. By the way, you will be on your own on this mission.”
She went away without responding to her superior, shaking her head. She is aware that she is being rude, and Mr. Warner was astounded to see Agent Isleen acting in this manner, given that she had never complained about her assignments. In fact, she is revolting against him for the first time. And she doesn't give a damn. She's not going to accept it. No way, not now.
