Read Unwilling Goddess :: Chapter 10

I suddenly found myself on the floor, breathing heavily & crying. The sun was starting to go down. What the heck...? I haven't blacked out like that in years... wait. "Crap, Crow!" I took a deep breath & realized I could still sense Crow in the house. He was still sleeping, but tI saw a new problem emerge. Crow clearly came into contact with something or someone who was like me. I had only one option; I had erase his memory myself. There is a problem with that plan however. I haven't done a proper memory wipe since I was 7 & I don't remember how I used to do it... plus, one screw up & I could erase his memories too far back, or I erased the short term memories of the whole neighborhood. I peaked back into his room to see him sleeping; his body temperature had returned to normal. Being possessed had to of drained him of all energy; he was a peaceful sleeper thankfully. I had to focus now; it was about 340pm when everythign happened... so if I just erase everything between 350 & 450, it should be ok. Right? I took another deep breath & placed my hand on his forehead. "Please let this work..." I wasn't sure what to do. I envisioned the whole senario like a video saved on a phone & just pressed 'delete'. Crow groaned & squirmed a little but remained sleeping. "Great... let's get you home."

Raven came to get him after I called. I told her that he wanted to take a nap after doing some homework & that he was sleeping for a long time. "Oh, yeah, that happens to him, especially lately. He lost sleep cause he was worried about you... keep him safe, alright?" she had said. Crow didn't remember anything in the coming days thankfully. Still it made me nervous, especially with how quiet he had been towards me. Luckly, our project & presentation of our story went without a hitch. But it was our other shared class of gym that seemed to be worse. I walked up to Crow as he sat on the sidelines, waiting to class to start. "Crow... a-are you sure you're alri-" I touched his shoulder & he jumped away from me; he's breathing heavily. "Fuck! Sorry... sorry, I'm alright. I've just got... a weird feeling." he muttered that last point. "Did you wanna talk about it?" I sat next to him & he sighed. "I... I don't know! I just-ugh, like I look at some people & have this weird feeling any time I look at you or random people & it's been happening ever since I left your place." he sighed once again. "But then there's this-" "ALRIGHT EVERYONE! CIRCLE UP!" our teacher yells. "Listen, we're gonna play King of the Court, but with a twist." he says. "Truth be told, we're playing Just Dance. Winners stay in until they loose; if you have a particular song you want to do, it won't count. Make sense?" everyone murmers, but nods. "Great. We're gonna do 2 warm up ro-" the fire alarms started going off & we all evacuated. Students were everywhere as panic began to set in; we were counted rather quickly & we heard the fire department was on their way. The whole school made its way to the football field to rest & sit; a decent amount of kids called their parents. Crow was sitting down next to me as I looked to him. "What do you think-" "Scortch..." he mumbled, staring off at the school. My blood ran cold in that moment. How did he- "Luna! Crow!" a caramel colored girl with twin braids came up to Crow & I. She wore a green t-shirt with mint colored sleeves & camo pants. "A-Angie, hey." she gives me a quick hug & smiles at Crow. "Look what I found guys." she removes her backpack, unzips it & out pops a small animal head. It had a bird like face, incliding a beak, but it somehow looked canine too. Crow seemed to snap out of his trance as he pet the bird; it had was looked like dark grey hood markings on its tan colored face. It's beak was grey & it chirped happily. "I named him Cheshire." Crow groaned. "Of course you did..." he mumbled. I gave Angie a warry smile & she stared at me. Angie & I are kind of close; well, I think we are anyway. She was one of the first kids outside the cult that I really connected with. But as we got older, we had more differing classes. Still, she can usually tell what I'm thinkning in a heartbeat. "It's cute. What even is it anyway? It's fuckin weird; should I be touching this thing?" Crow mumbles, petting the creature energeticly. Angie giggles as we're given the ok to get any of our things that were still in the building & just go home. Standing up, we gather our bags & begin to walk off the bleachers; right before we have to split off from Angie, Crow groans. "Finally. Sorry guys; I gotta grab my stuff & go. Late-" "Stay." I freeze, as does Crow. What was happening!?! I can't move... it's like I'm stuck, or paused. Angie positions herself so she's in front of the two of us. We're pulled to the side so we're not in the way of everyone else walking past. "Sorry bout this. I have some questions for you two. & frankly, you two splittin up isn't a good idea." Angei's whole tone of voice shifted; she went from sounding like a typical anime slice of life protagonist, to bad ass fighter. Her pitch lowered & her stance relaxed too; I've never seen her like this before. "My bad for havin to reveal like this; totally not what I was goin for." she sighed & stared at me. "An-y'know, Luna, I never thought Alpha's Orders would work on you. Or... are you just messin with me?" she got close to my face... was she sniffing me; I could see her eyes turning yellow as she glanced at me. "Luna... you met Scortch didn't you. & it was recent too. Wait... is that why-" she ran over to Crow & started sniffing & circleling him. For some reason, it made my blood boil; I tried to thrash around. "B-Back away from him!" I force out. "Oh, so you can talk? Nice one. Ugh, Crow, dude, you smell like you set a barn fire. Scortch, what the hell did you do?" she comments. "Ugh, I should probably move you two soon..." she grumbles. "Come. Follow." Suddenly, we start walking, following behind Angie. "Good boy. Good g-" "Wait... Angie, you know about the thing at my house? How?" she gave me a blank stare.

"You serious?"

"W-Why would I be joking right now!?! What's even going on-how are you even doing this?"

"What... what happened to you?"

Angie mutters; was that a sob I heard? We got in her car, both of us in the backseat as she started the car. I gave Crow a nervous glance. He had been completely silent this whole time... it was worrying me a lot. When I command him, he still talks. His head is turned towards me & I can see his eyes; he looks like he's been drugged. There is, however, a faint smile on his mouth. "Crow, speak. You're freakin me out man." silence, but I did see his eyes dart in her direction & his mouth scowl. "Ugh, you serious? Fine then." she grumbled & continued driving. "Angie, seriously, what the hell is going on!?! Where are you taking u-" she brake checked the car & turned her head around. "You have to remember. The others won't be as mad if you remember..." she muttered, continuing to drive. "But-" "Lie down." I suddenly feel drousy & rest my head on Crow's shoulder. "Good girl." I was asleep before I knew it.
