And the 10th king of the Kingdom of Aseiwyth is…
783 was the year when two things happened. The first was a disease in the heart of King Jaidev Matsuhita. The second was the birth of our main character, ahem ahem, I mean the successor of the kingdom, where unbalance was starting to grow because of the king's deterioration.
Sixteen years have passed since then, and the king is in a very critical condition, where he looks normal but isn’t. It’s year 799 in the Silver Paramount school, where there is a test that decides what you will become in the future.
However, fate seems to have some other thoughts for this young man, who lives in a villa near the river. Someone knocks on his door, and a very calm, charming woman opens it.
“Is this where Ryousuke Vasudev lives?” asked a man who looked old and wise.
“Yes,” his mother replied.
“Then you must be Sachiko Vasudev, mother of Ryousuke Vasudev.”
“Yeah, and who are you?” she asked.
“I am the minister of the Kingdom of Aseiwyth, Bhishma Masashi.”
“You?” his mother asked seriously.
“Yes your majesty, I am here for his highness,” said the minister calmly.
“Why are you here for my son, minister?” asked the lady.
The minister explained how the situation is in the capital, and how other kingdoms are trying to capture Aseiwyth.
“Hmmm, I see you want my son to take the throne.”
Well, quite not your highness. You know about the king and that he wants to choose a worthy successor, he made a tournament to see who is worthy of taking the throne.
“Then do you want my son or not?” questioned the lady with a powerful voice.
“Yes your highness, we want him to compete in the tournament,” answered the minister with fear.
“I see, so you really thought I would send my son to such places while knowing what might happen?” she responded, now facing the opposite way.
“No, my lady, but… but…” the minister was terrified.
“But what, Bhishma, what? In the first place, you should know why my son and I are living far from there,” she had a look of worry on her face.
“No, your highness, the king didn't inform me of what happened.”
“Why would he? You will not get my son minister, now get out.”
“Bu-but my lady, we really–”
He was interrupted by “Goodbye, minister,” before the door slammed shut.
Somewhere in the town's plaza, we see a young man fighting a Blue. The Blue had taken a bribe from a thief and was about to beat the woman that had been robbed. As he raised his baton, Ryousuke intercepted to save the woman, and the attack hit him instead.
“Why did you do that, sir?” Ryousuke asked the Blue.
“What did I do, boy?”
“You, instead of catching the thief, are helping him? Shame on you.”
The Blue demanded, “You know nothing, boy. Get out of here before I smash you!”
“I will not leave until you give the woman her money back,” said Ryousuke with kingly justice in his eyes.
The Blue drew his sword and just before he cut the boy, the minister appeared out of thin air. He cut the Blue’s head off with his bare hand, as if it was a thin sword. “Are you okay, boy?” the minister asked.
“Yes sir. Thank you for saving me, I will never forget this,” replied the boy, a little confused.
“There’s no need to thank me. I should be ashamed of what this Blue did in our kingdom.”
Ryousuke rambled on, “Why, sir? Why are you upset because of the actions of that Blue? Do you know him? Who are you, sir?”
“You do talk a lot, boy. I am the minister of this kingdom: Bhishma Masashi. Being the minister, it's my duty that everyone is working correctly and the people are feeling safe,” the minister answered.
“Why is there a great person like you in our village, sir?”
Masashi replied, “Oof, I was here for a boy. Well, I won't get him anymore. And, who are you? What's your name?”
“Me? I am Ryousuke Vasudev, sir. Maybe I can help you find that boy you are looking for!”
