He slowly turned around and gave her an awkward smile. "Uh... I-umm... maybe?"
He answered unsurely.
"If you don't have a prior appointment, you can't meet the Ceo."
"No, he called me, trust me." Kyoko tried to reason back.
"An omega. I get it now. I know omegas like you, trying to get closer to an elite alpha all the time. Get out before I call the security." She rubbed her forehead in distress.
Evan POV
A few minutes ago...
I got out of the main headquarter of Arnold's company, after knowing he is now managing the 34th branch. He decided to move somewhere other than the main quarters, it was something new. Maybe there were more problems in the branches?
I get in my car and drive there, after reaching there I park my car and head towards the elevator. I know Arnold will be happy from my surprise visit, after all, we are fated mates, that Kyoko guy is just manipulating my alpha with his filthy pheromones.
As I turn towards the Ceo office, I see two people in front of the door arguing and I recognise one being his assistant, but couldn't recognise the other. Anyway, I was too busy to bother with them, so I decided to pass by it but the boy's statement made it impossible to.
A/N POV
"But I am his fated mate, just call him once and we can confirm it." Kyoko sighed for the nth time, almost close to giving up on meeting Arnold for today.
"Excuse me, what?" An unfamiliar voice interrupted both of them and they turned their heads towards the source.
"Good evening, Mr Evan." The girl, who was supposedly Arnold's assistant, greeted Evan, and the latter returned the gesture.
"Good evening, Samantha. If you don't mind, may I ask what's happening here?"
"Sir, this person here is claiming to be Mr Creed's lover."
"I am his lover." Kyoko sneered at her.
"Are you sure? Arnold likes to play around a lot and you look like the type he would dump after a one night stand." Evan folded his hands, a visible smirk forming on his face, and Kyoko looked like an easy one to get rid of. A little push and he would get himself out of the picture, without much effort.
"And who are you to talk shit about him?"
Kyoko, who already had enough stress for today, just because he forgot his phone now not only had one but two assholes to deal with.
"I am his childhood friend and somebody who holds an important place in his life. If you were his lover, I would have heard about it."
Evan said, in an oh so superior tone.
"Ptff, are you the one who is sure of his position in Arnold's life because if you were really important to him, he would've introduced you to me as he did with Evelyn. You sure you are the one who is not disillusioned?" Kyoko arched one of his eyebrows, he may look meek but he knew how to stand up for him, he has seen enough to know how to deal with every kind of person.
Meanwhile, Arnold was still staring at his phone, waiting for Kyoko's call and when his string of patience broke, he dialled Kyoko's number, only to be picked up by Seto.
"Darli-
"Hold your horses, this is not your darling."
"It's just you. When will darling leave?"
Arnold demanded.
"He left a while ago, he should've been there," Seto replied, slightly panicked. Unlike Sethia, there were alphas here.
"He must be at the lobby then."
"Hey, call me after you meet him, okay?" But before he could get the reply, Arnold had hung up the phone.
To say, if Arnold was not worried for Kyoko would be an understatement, he was worried for more than one reason and none of them was good. He quickly got up from his seat and headed outside, only to witness three people and two of them ganging up on one.
"Darling?" He called out, gaining the attention of all three of them.
"Arnold!" Evan took the first step, walking towards him but Arnold was too fixated on his omega that he walked past him.
"How did you find my office? And why didn't you contact me after reaching here?" Arnold put his hands on either side of Kyoko's shoulders.
"I tried to but...." He signalled behind Arnold's back, making Arnold acknowledge the other two.
"Sir, we didn't know you two were acquainted."
Samantha tried to defend herself after seeing how frozen Evan was after getting ignored by Arnold.
"We are not acquaintances, we are lovers. Okay?" Kyoko hissed at her again but this time she couldn't retort as she was doing before.
"Arnold," Kyoko called.
"I stubbed my foot this morning, it still hurts, carry me. Let's eat in your office?" He said in a fake tone, but Arnold being the whipped one immediately bridal carried him.
"Postponed every meeting I have today." He said before entering his office, still refusing to acknowledge or greet Evan.
And just when he was about to close the door by pushing it with his leg, Kyoko made sure to flip at them with a smirk plastered on his face.
"What's it like to fall in love with your fated mate?"
Kyoko only had one dream in his life, meeting his fated mate. The person who was born just for you but it was easier said than done, after all he had never step a foot outside his home city Sethia.
