I feel like this chapter was a bit lacking so I didn't post it yesterday, but here ya go, hope you enjoy this chapter! ♡

Elyse followed the two knights, while the other knight followed and watched her from behind. 

They stopped in front of one room for imprisonment. It was literally filthy, and there wasn't even a chair to sit on. It's a stained, empty space. "You will remain in this location until we figured out information about you." One of the knights uttered a word. 

Elyse entered silently. Even if she want to struggle and run right now, it's obvious that she can't. They're knights, she's just random girl who came from nowhere. 

She took a look around the room. It's a completely empty space with no windows, so even the sun can't shine through. "How long am I obliged to remain here? To be honest, I'm not sure what crime I committed, and it's not that I committed one. Do you just randomly put a citizen into a cell without a proper evidence?" She expressed her displeasure. She just wanted to get some help, but she ended up in jail? 

The knights did not respond, instead locking her up and marching away. 

"...Ha! You've got to be kidding me, these people!" Inside her cell, she screamed. Her voice echoed throughout the ward, but the silence remained. 

Elyse appears to be alone in this vast dungeon. She isn't sure, but she isn't hearing anything other than herself. Or is she the only one who is noisy? She has no idea. 

She sat on the floor, regardless of how cold or filthy it was. She doesn't have a choice, does she? 

Elyse should simply relax and clear her mind. She needs to relax and think. 

'First, after I get out of this shithole, I need to find work because I need to keep money if I want to learn how to return to my original world. Second, I should figure out where I am and how to return home.' 

"Haa..." Because of the mounting stress in her mind, Elyse sighed. She's so tired to the point that even if she want to be a sane person right, seems like because of the things she's been through in the short period of time in this world, she can't be sane. She's going crazy. 

'Even if I asked myself HOW I got here, the most important question is WHY did I get here? ' 

'What is the point of putting me in this world? Is it possible that I was cursed? However, I was living in the 21st Century. Of course, a curse would be complete nonsense.' 

Elyse lay and fell asleep on the cold floor as a result of the exhausting events that had occurred to her. She was so tired that she fell asleep without realizing it. 

She just wants to beg herself to let her rest and think later after what happened to her throughout the day. 

When Elyse awoke, she sat up and looked around. Because of the sudden changes in her surroundings, she panicked and stood, forgetting what had happened. 

Isn't she in the sea? 

Her situation had not registered in her mind yet. 

Elyse remembered everything after a few minutes. 

She shook her head and sat down again. "I thought it was a nightmare. No, it's a nightmare, and at the same time, it's very real." 

She simply sat in the corner and began counting her hair. She's becoming more insane by the minute. 

Elyse stood up, walking in circles in her room. She can't sit idly. She will be gone crazy is she doesn't have any else to do. 

Elyse has no idea what time it is or how much time has passed. 

She simply waited until she heard footsteps. Many footsteps. It's a large group, so it's most likely two or more people.

Elyse lifted her head when she saw four shadows covering the dim light in the dungeon. Her eyes met a four pair of eyes. Rouge was there, as were the three knights who had led her to the dungeon earlier.

The prison's seal was removed by one of the knights. She stood up and backed away, waiting to see what they would say or do to her. Obviously, they should apologize to her for sending her to the dungeon, because she didn't commit any crime!

Rouge locked his gaze on her from head to toe. 'All right, bitch. I know I'm gross right now, but will you please stop staring?' "You can now leave the dungeon. However, you should remain inside the palace for yet more investigation." Rouge claims that, he then gave her a dress. It was a dress that was neither fancy nor classy. It's more plain dress. But it's kind of look better than the one Elyse's wearing right now. 

"What exactly do you mean? Isn't it possible for me to just stay outside the palace? I appreciate you giving me a lift and even sending me to the capital, but I need to work, you know... And what exactly is this?" Elyse raised the dress he had given her. Looking at it strangely. Could this be a... reperation, right?

Rouge's brow twitched, now irritated by her questions. "We still need to look into it. We are still unable to find your identity, which would indicate that you are not a person sent to assassinate His Highness. And it's clear that's a dress to wear." He explained and responded to Elyse's question.

'But that's not what I mean.' Elyse answers her own question about the dress. But he didn't respond to Rouge's sarcastic remark.

"How much time had passed?"

"You, woman. Nobody dares to ask me such trivial questions as you are right now. But it's already early morning, so stop rumbling and close your mouth."

Elyse fixed her gaze on Rouge. 'Did he not have a conscience? He allowed me to stay in this filthy jail without food? That's why my stomach grumbled! They're torturing me!'

"His highness does not want to meet an unimportant guess like you, a useless assassin, but he must do so."

'Why would I want to meet 'his highness? And stop mistaking me for an assasin! 

"Change your clothes as well. That unappealing appearance wouldn't be good for his highness's eyes. It's far too unsightly." Rouge mentioned the piece of clothing that Elyse is currently wearing.

"Mister, please turn around and do not look back for a minute." Elyse stated. She want kick their asses right now but even if she was imprisoned, they continued to assist her. So let's be calm. 

Rouge enquired, "What again?"

Elyse looked at him, then down at her dress. "Unless, of course, you want to see me..." 

"And then?" Rouge bluntly said. His expression tells Elyse that, her dressing up won't bother him even a bit.

"Are you saying that it's fine even if you saw me naked? I didn't know you are a pervert man, Co-mman-der." Elyse playfully smirk. 

To be honest, Elyse didn't really care. Duh, many people already saw her in her bikin earlier even Rouge, but she just want to annoy him a little. 

The three knights with Rouge silently laughed. 'You should laugh harder, no one will stop you.'

"I am not a pervert but even if I saw your naked body, I will never think that you are attractive, woman." 

Her fun time stopped. Elyse rolled her eyes. "What a boomer." Well, she's the one who got annoyed in the end though. 

But after all the nonsense talks between the two of them, Rouge still turn around and didn't forget to insist that 'he's not a pervert man.'

Elyse waited for the other three knights to move, but they never did.

"You three, move."

"Yes, commander!"

How compassionate. They will not obey a command if it is not issued by their commander.

Elyse wore the dress and kept the silk she was wearing earlier, even though it was filthy.

"I'm finished; you may now turn around, gentlemen."

Rouge wasn't pleased with what she said, and Elyse had no idea why but didn't bother to inquire further.

Rouge stated that they should have exited the dungeon by now, and Elyse inquired as they walked.

"How long would I stay in the palace, Mister?"

"It appears that you don't know how to stop asking such trivial questions, huh?" Elyse ignored Rouge's sarcastic remarks and continued to inquire. "How much time?"

Rouge exhaled, showing that his not-so-long patience was running out because of this peasant.

It was not a pleasant feeling at all.

"Ha... if we have found concrete information about you." He finally gave in. 

Elyse was certain that it would take far too long because she wasn't from this world! How could they find anything about her?

Apart from her name, she doesn't even have an identity.

"But I have to go to work, Mister. I should enjoy my life and work hard before you murder me right?"

She keeps pushing, just to get them to let her go. Why would they imprison her in the palace? It just doesn't make sense!

"Then we'll give you one, so shut it now."

Her face lit up. She didn't think they'd hire her. Workingin the palace won't be too bad too. "Wow, really?! How kind of you! Thank you so much, Mister!" Elyse was ecstatic. One of her problems has been resolved, and she appears to be able to return home early, if things will go smoothly on her work, she can investigate about how to return home and viola! She'll return home! 

The dungeon's door was opened by the two knights. And Elyse felt the warmth of the sunlight.

She was surprised to see the inside of the palace that had greeted her.

Her eyes were indeed blessed. The breathtaking scenery contrasted sharply with the filthy dungeon she had just exited.

The dungeon was actually outside the palace, with two knights guarding the gate on the left and right sides. Because it was an underground dungeon, it was quite large. Elyse didn't see the entire dungeon, but she did see the never-ending jail as she was led there.

They walked down the long, high-ceilinged corridor flanked by five golden statues on either side.

Her eyes formed the shape of a dollar sign.

Oh my goodness! She can smell money from a mile away. This is her first time seeing such a large amount of pure gold. She'd never seen anything like it in her entire life!

She pointed with her finger at one of the gold statues. "A-Are the statues made of pure gold? How much can I expect to get if I sell them?" Elyse, still staring intently while drooling at the golden statues, asked Rouge like a crazy lad.

"Stop blathering nonsense."

In the spaces between the statues, there are portraits of black-haired men. With their enticing, one-of-a-kind eyes. Like the hot white-haired man she saw in the forest!

Wow, what an incredible bloodline! It is certainly full of godly people; she identifies their appearance as that of the god himself, who has just ascended from heaven to the human world!

Elyse was still enthralled by everything she saw. She can't believe there are so many beautiful gold things in one place! Royalty is really incredible! 

They finally arrived. Elyse waited for Rouge to resume walking after he came to a halt in front of the large door. The large door opened on its own. 

As they walked through the massive door, they were greeted by a long giant dining table with twelve chairs side by side. It was a large dining table for one person, who was currently seated in the center of it. And there was a lot of food in front of him, but it didn't seem like he touched it at all.

Rouge knelt and then bowed respectfully to the person in front of them. Elyse confirmed that the white-haired handsome man in front of her was indeed in a higher position than Rouge after witnessing the 'commander' act in this manner.

Elyse was just standing there doing nothing. What exactly would she have to do? Is it necessary for her to kneel like Rouge?

"Your highness, she has arrived." Rouge made a statement. With all due respect. Then he rose from his knees and stood up straight next to the man he addressed as 'Your highness.'"

'Indeed, he is a royal, seeing the portraits earlier and how he order the commander around. Ny guess was indeed right!' 

'Your highness' simply ignored Rouge and stared boredly at Elyse. He just stared at her as if he were looking at a statue rather than a person.

Elyse returned his stare. She knew he was a handsome man when they first met, but she couldn't see his features clearly at the time, but now that she saw him up close, he was a god. A literal deity!

His overwhelming attractiveness was fantastic. He is like a god in his own right!

Elyse didn't know how to properly greet a royal since in her entire life living as a modern woman, she never met one personally, so she just imitated Rouge. "I've arrived, Your Royal highness...? Hehe..." She then scratched the back of her head, perplexed by the awkwardness that surrounded her. She's well aware that she appears to be ignorant. But she is ignorant!

"How can they send a wench like this to kill me? Those imbeciles, are they asking me to cut out their limbs?"

He said this as he grabbed a fork and stabbed the meat on his plate. Elyse flinched. He wasn't mad and just calmly talking but his voice while talking was as cold as dead body. 

Elyse's face was riddled with visible question marks. 'Eh? Me, assassinate? Who, you? You crazy?' 

"Assassinat? Oh, please stop mistaking me for an assasin. I haven't even done anything to you at all. You high or what?" 'And why does the word assassin keep popping up in every conversation conversation? Does my face resemble that of a murderer? I might kill someone based on my appearance, since I am hella gorgeous and hot, but that doesn't mean I'm a killer! These people are dreadful. They can't appreciate a real beauty.' 

Rouge and his highness were both staring at her.

"Where did you get a permission to talk?" The man with white haired spoke up. His voice lacked emotion, and Elyse felt as if she had just heard an operative doll speak.

"Kneel."

Elyse thought she heard something wrong, but when she looks at him, she knows he's not joking.

She was having second thoughts. 'What makes you think I'd kneel?'

Rouge took his sword and drew it. "Kneel, his highness has given the order."

'Okay, okay, I'll kneel.' 

Kneeling, Elyse. Her two hands were also on the floor.

"Would you like to live?" Elyse flinched. His highness' voice was very cold and she felt a shiver down her spine. How could this man have a gorgeous and soft face but talk like a dead person? 

And what kind of question is that?

"Yes... of course..." she nodded slowly. Of course, duh! She didn't even saw her irritated mother's expression, and she didn't even travel around her own world!

"You've probably heard that you only have one chance to live. Right?" He inquired once more, still staring at her. To be more specific, he's looking down at Elyse while sitting.

His eyes were beginning to enchant her. Stupid!

She was perplexed as to why and what work awaited her. Nonetheless, she requires employment.

"I overheard..." this was about the job that Rouge spoke earlier? P

His highness fixed his gaze on Rouge. And, as previously stated, Rouge recognizes the man's stare and immediately understood what his highness was trying to imply. 

Rouge spoke up. "You have only one thing to do. Just take a bite on every food that his highness has to eat."

"...Is that all?" For some reason, she was bothered. Why is it so simple? Is this a trap to determine whether she's a pig or not?

"Yes."

She tilted her head. "I'm just going to test the foods...? But why? "

Rouge glared at her. "How dare you continue to talk in the presence of the Crown Prince? You do seem to get tired of living."
