Kein’s heart swooned over with love due to the amount of cuteness her son was radiating. She picked him up and squeezed him in a bone crushing hug. She was so happy that she was blessed with such a kind and caring son.
The carriage soon came to a stop, which signalled Kein and Lyclenel that they were now in town. Kein swung open the door and stepped out, her red dress flowing in the gentle breeze. She took her hair out of the braid it was in, causing her hair to flow down onto the floor. She took pride in the length of her hair and she took pride in her son. He was her life force in a way, and he was the reason why she chose not to rule the kingdom out of hatred and rage.
Kein and Lyclenel walked down the streets of their kingdom’s town. Houses were rebuilt and improved, food and crops were kept fresh and easily stocked, money was never a problem, everyone was living a life fit for a duke, duchess, and a royal in training.
“All hail the Great Empress and her son!”
“All hail!”
“May they rule for a millenia!”
Lyclenel still hid behind his mother but he gave small gentle waves back towards the people.
“My dear sweet people! Many years ago, I was viewed as a beast, a mere monster towards the people of the past! But now look at us! The ruler they were so scared of is now helping out their kids and their future lives! I’m glad that you all have accepted my son and I as your ruler and we are forever grateful! Today is a day of celebration! I will not rest until our kingdom scatters around and rules so we can share our ways of life and help improve this horrible world for the better.”
Kein suddenly felt an itch in her throat. She tried to cough it out but it wasn’t working, the coughing suddenly got worse as she clawed at her throat in pain. She turned away from her son and her people, clawing more aggressively at her throat. Her coughing suddenly came to halt which startled her. She fixed herself up and turned around towards everyone.
“I-I’m so sorry everyone, I had a sudden cough-”
Kein’s sentence was cut off by her coughing a huge amount of blood. Yet, the blood was white.
Kein fell down onto her knees as the blood splattered all over her dress. Lyclenel’s eyes widened with fear as he began to cry. The coachmen and Katya, rushed over towards Kein’s side and helped her and Lyclenel back into the carriage before rushing them off back towards the castle.
“Make way for the Empress!”
“Call for the royal physician!”
“Someone take her to her bedroom!”
“Move out of the way!”
Kein could only hear voices as her vision began to fade in and out of reality. Her mouth was tainted with white blood as she was being carried into her room. Kein took one last look at her son before losing consciousness.
That’s when she saw it.
Her inner beast was no longer a dark shadowy figure, but it was white, blood leaking from its jaws. Kein walked towards her beast and stood tall, her hair flowing in the wind that was flowing between her mind and body.
“It is time Kein...You’ve run out of luck in this life…”
“Why are you like this, beast?”
“What haven’t you learned from all of this shit...You’re cursed Kein, always have been...It’s time for me to rise up and fulfill my task...No stand down and let me finish what I started two thousand years ago…!”
Kein exhaled before stomping her heels down, causing a red flame circle to surround her. All of her anger was rising up into her body as she screamed . The flames engulfed her whole body. The cursed beast watched in slight amusement as Kein shifted into her beast’s final form. Looming over the cursed beast, Kein snatched the beast by its throat and stared into its eyes.
“Do not take me as some form of a weak fucking flower...I know I’m cursed...You may be the curse but I won’t let you get your fucking way just because of the slight power you have over my soul.”
That’s when the cursed beast and Kein’s beast broke out into a bloody fight.
Meanwhile…
Lyclenel stayed by his mother’s side as he watched her lose color in her skin. She was growing weak, something was hurting her from the inside out. Lyclenel felt hopeless, weak, pathetic, and alone. Katya suddenly picked up Lyclenel and placed him out of the room to make more space for the medics and healers to help Kein.
Lyclenel’s eyes bubbled up with water as he ran down towards the dungeon. He knew that what he was doing was wrong but he felt a calling as if this was the only choice or way to keep his sweet mother alive. Lyclenel knew that his mother didn’t really mean all of the things she said towards the strange lady, he could tell by the look and shade of her eyes.
He finally made his way down the steps of the dungeon, after getting the guards to leave their stations. He walked towards Kara’s cell with the cell keys. He gently knocked on the cell bars which caused Kara to open up her eyes. She raised her head up slightly from her knees and locked eyes with Lyclenel. She laughed before moving her hair out of her face. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
“What are you doing here? Here to mock me like your mother? Hm?! Here to bitch about how I called you a-”
Lyclenel looked down at Kara with puffy eyes. His gaze glaring at Kara a little bit before relaxing his gaze.
“Ma’am, I get that you and my mother have some form of drama that caused a drift between the two of you and I understand that, but what I will not tolerate is you disrespecting my mother. I get that she hurt your feelings and made you feel bad but you have also had your fair share of what you’ve done. Believe it or not but my mother didn’t mean what she said towards you...She only views you as a figure that is going to shun her out and call her a monster again... Please forgive my mother!”
Kara was shocked by the small boy’s vocabulary. She stood up and walked towards her cell bars.
“What was the reason you came to see me?”
“My mother...she’s...she’s...SHE’S DYING…!”
Lyclenel broke down crying again as he finally mustered out the words that were swelling up in his chest. Kara grinned a little before frowning.
“She deserves to…After all the shit she did to me...She deserves it...I spend time out of my life looking for her...ONLY FOR HER TO SHUT ME DOWN AND LEAVE ME! LET HER FUCKING DIE! SHE DOESN’T DESERVE TO BE A MOTHER! SHE IS NOTHING BUT A-”
“NOW WAIT JUST A MINUTE!” A russian voice interrupted Kara’s rant.
“S-Silfi?”
“Kara Grapp I should slap you for your slip of tongue. This boy is Kein’s son which basically makes him YOUR son in a way! Kein has also been searching for you but was captured by Mikacellia and her wicked family, preventing her from finding you. She sent letter after letter towards our home before your father passed away. Each letter was explaining how much she wanted to apologize for scaring you that night and how much she wanted to see you again. I will admit that not giving you those letters were wrong but you must never disrespect someone who is going through things way worse than you. She may have taken your title but you took away her way of opening up and loving someone! Kein Blouss, was born as a mistake towards her father. HE was the reason Kein shut herself out from the world and was kept away from society. He let people call her a monster, he used her as an act just for HIS people to hate her. He knew what she was capable of and he was going to make sure Kein grew up hating people! But that all came crumbling down when Kein locked eyes with you! You gave her a feeling she never experienced before, but the one time she protected you and others, she was called nothing but a monster! Without her, you would’ve been killed!”
Silfi’s chest heaved as she caught her breath after her lecture towards Kara, who was staring at her.
“Well….WELL…Maybe if she didn’t just toss my feelings aside she wouldn’t have-”
“KARA GRAPP SHE DIDN’T THROW YOUR FEELINGS ASIDE AND YOU KNOW IT! Kein never had love! Each party I attended with your father, I would see Kein, standing on the higher level, watching people in fancy dresses from afar. She was dressed for a party but she was never able to attend, and the one time she tried to come down, her father snatched her away and dragged her by her hair all the way back towards god knows where! Kara, open up your eyes! Kein’s heart was finally exposed towards a feeling besides hatred but you don’t know if she was afraid of hurting you, which is the reason why she decided to end things and keep you both apart, and over the time, Kein focused on the hatred she received that sealed her heart with darkness. I will not lie, when she saw you again, her eyes softened and she was happy but something triggered her to think of the bad things and lock away those happy feelings! I get it! She’s messed up for stepping on you and treated us wrongly but you must understand that she grew up on hatred while you grew up on love...Goodness! She’s out there dying from her curse while you’re here bittering on hatred of what she did to you! If you see her as a monster so much know then figure out how she must’ve felt being called a monster by everyone she reached out towards for love...Now m’lady...KINDLY shut the hell up, woman up, and get your ass towards your fucking girlfriend’s side or so help me, I will knock you back towards my ancestors!”
Kara sealed her mouth shut, knowing the strength and determination Silfi had was no joke. She really thought about what Silfi had said. Yeah, she felt bad but she also didn’t like how Kein just made the choice to end things all because she was scared of hurting someone she cares about. Kara was fully capable of defending herself and Kein if things went downhill.
Lyclenel opened the cell door and took a step back so Kara could get out. Once Kara got out she stretched her legs and arms before dusting off her clothes. True, she still was upset with Kein but she was finally awaken towards reality and she wasn’t going to hide or accept the absence of her feelings anymore.
Kein was no longer a monster in Kara’s eyes, and she was no longer an obstacle or beast. Kara had never seen things so clearly until this very day.
“It’s time my wife and I have a little bonding moment…”
“Wife? My mommy is your wife?” Lyclenel asked
“Yes smallfry...Which makes me your mother as well!” Kara said proudly.
