The sun slowly rises over the buildings center, the mayor strides in a small group of fellow townsfolk behind him as they reach town square.
“What in his name?” The convenient store owner spoke up, his eyes trained on a protruding metal pole in the center. A top the pole is streamers and lights in array of colors. Standing a top it, arms outstretched, and an unmoved smile is Rico.
“WELCOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! MONSTERS AND WEIRDOS OF ALL AGES! TONIGHT, AND TONIGHT ONLY YOU WILL BE THE FIRST TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MESS WITH THIS FAMILY. FROM THE HOSPITALS OF FRANCE TO THE HIDDEN CROSSROADS OF JAPAN! LET ME INTORDUCE TO YOU THE CREATURES THAT HIDE WITHIN YOUR VERY SHADOWS!!” He announces falling backwards, dropping into the shadows below.
“Keep your guard up men! We must show these monsters what our Will’s light has taught us.”
“Was that before or after you shot me? By the way you have bad aim tupitsa. You need work on it.” Lucy quips making some of the men jump in shock.
“How?”
“Like I said, bad aim tupitsa.” She shrugs, before Lilith’s voice rang out. Several of the towns folk crumble to the concrete below. Others are in shock checking their fallen comrades.
“What is this?!” The mayor yells looking around him, fear dragging across his face as he takes a step back. Stopping when others are dragged into nearby alley’s their terror filled screams silenced as they disappear. One by one the unconscious bodies are pulled under the now moving floor below. Jumping off the concrete he lands next to a batch of flowers eyes wide as he watches his followers.
Two follow close behind, drawing on about what they should do. Until a shadowy figure dropped on top of one of them.
“Missed by a few feet darling!” The cat ears twitch as Katie stands up, stretching her back as she waves at the mayor.
Lifting their weapon, the other man aims it at her. Shouting incoherent words before being lifted off the ground by a slender dark hand.
“Doroppudeddo…” Yukiko hisses out throwing the man onto the concrete where dark hands pull him under.
“Awww, thank you sweetheart.” Katie smiles before looking towards the mayor. “Now are you going to come willingly, or will we have to knock you out like your men did our Ring Master?” The crack of knuckles behind her makes him look over her shoulder. Lucy stands there with a smirk on her face.
“Choice is yours.”
Snapping her fingers in his face the mayor looks Katie in the eyes. Nodding slowly, he is grabbed by either side by Yukiko, pulling him from the ground and carrying him towards the pole where Rico makes his presence known. Ten dark beady eyes watch him.
“How? You- you looked so normal?” He gulps watching as Rico shrugs.
“Old party trick from my father who learned it from his father before him. So, on so forth… Now let us not dilly dally I need you to answer me this.” Stepping forward his coat beyond repair against his button up and torn pants. “Where is this creature hiding?”
“Creature?”
“The Will thing you all keep talking about?” Snapping his fingers in front of the mayors face his voice strains impatiently. “Where is its true body? Or better yet, where is it hiding?”
“The Will would never hide from creatures like you! Even traitor shall bask in its glory!” Glaring Morris down who feels an arm on his shoulder stopping him from hiding. Looking back Remy nods and steps over, dark tendrils dancing across his shoes as he stops beside him.
“The boy knows from right and wrong, that is not bad.” Remy speaks as the ground below him moves and disappears into his shadow.
“What is good is what he tells us! Not what some monsters say that dare break our town apart!”
“We did not want to do that for one, and two your people are the ones that took it among themselves to attack my husband and children.” Lucy barks out standing behind Rico the wound on her forehead leaving a fresh scar upon her forehead as she folds her arms over her chest.
“What do you all want?!” He shouts, struggling against Yukiko who tightens her grip making him wince.
“Tell us where the creature is so we may go home.” Rico’s voice comes out flat, the only emotion being the anger that danced across his void-like eyes.
‘Shall I take a turn?’ The voice is rough against their ears as the darkly cloaked figure draws up from between Rico and Lucy.
“Be our guest…” Rico shrugs as he motions for Yukiko drops the mayor onto the ground. Immediately he is pulled under fear etched onto his face as silence overtook them. “This shall be a minute, everyone go prepare… Phase one is done. Phase two shall begin.”
