Jade decided to meet Nico and Makenzie at a boba shop, it was kinda their traditional meeting spot. Just like Jade had expected, Nico and Makenzie were waiting for her there. Makenzie was acting all excited for whatever reason, tugging Nico's arm and twirling around in circles. 

( Jeez, what is wrong with her, ) Jade thought.

Nico spotted Jade and looked reliefed; he freed his left arm from Makenzie's grip and waved at Jade. Jade waved bac at him. She skipped across the street to where Makenzie and Nico were standing. 

"Sooooo..." said Jade, "We're going to a modeling thing, right?"

"Yeah, obviously, we discussed this," said Makenzie with an eyeroll. 

"What's the point of even watching some stupid people dress up?" asked Jade with annoyance; she only wanted to go because Nico had done so much to persuade Makenzie to let her go.

"We're not there to watch people dress up you idiot!" responded Makenzie, acting like it was obvious, "We're going there to COMPETEEEEE to be a mODEL!"

"WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WHAT?!" blurted Jade.

"You never told us THAT!" added Nico.

Makenzie acted like she couldn't care less, "Ok whatever, let's just go already!" 

The group of 3 turned right and walked up a steep hill. When they were about a quarter mile up Jade asked, "How far is this place anyways?"

"Like, 5 miles?" responded Makenzie.

"wHYyYYYyyyyYYY" groaned Jade.

They walked 2 miles until Nico demanded a break. Jade and Nico spotted a nearby bench, and sat on it; fanning themselves with their hand. Makenzie just stared at them like they just asked what 1 + 1 is ( iT's wiNDow, oBvIoUsLEY ); but she turned away when Jade shooted her a 'bruh' look. 

"OkAAAY, are you guys done yet?" asked Makenzie while rolling her eyes.

"Yeah, okay, let's go," murmured Nico, getting up.

At the modeling place thing:

They'd known that they arrived at the right place when they saw a huge white building with decorations on the outside, and when Makenzie started squelling and shaking Nico's arm and saying "OMG, THIS IS IT!!" Nico, who's left arm was being shaked hard, had a 'help me' face; which caused Jade to giggle a little. Once they were inside some fanyc butler-looking dude came in and asked them if they were trying out for the modeling thingymabob, and obviously Makenize said yes. Nico gave the butler dude a hard pass ( he had told Jade that he'd wanted to be a writer when he grew up ). Jade thought about it, and said "maybe later..." She sat with Nico in the audience, when she saw Nico writing something on a piece of paper. 
"What'cha writing?" asked Jade, leaning in. 

"Uhh.. just an idea of a book," said Nico, shrugging his shoulders; "You wanna be a... actor? When you grow up?"

"Ye..."

Nico and Jade had an awkward silence; but was broken when Nico jolted and said "OH! I have an idea!"

Jade looked at him confusingly, tilting her head.

"I can write a story script thing, and maybe you can act it??" said Nico excitently.

"Oh, sure! That sounds fun...what ideas do you have?" 

"I'm still thinking...I'll tell you when I've got it."

"Kk".

Jade thought for a bit then decided she'll enter the modeling thing...

"...for fun, of course," she added when she saw Nico's confused look.

Nico nodded in understandment, then waved at her as she went to the butler-looking dude. Jade asked him if she can still participate and he nodded, leading her to a fitting room with hundereds and hundreds of clothing options.

"Try to create the best outfit with the clothes provided," said butler-looking guy, "Good luck; tell me if you need anything." 

And with that, he closed the door.
