“ Slave”

After cleaning her up I left her to rest, she needed it. I’ll just come back later to make sure she is ok.  I descended the stairs and the sight I saw was enough for me to erupt with laughter. Garrik and Marcellus were at the bar Marcellus casually talking and Garrick flirting to his heart's content while Bain was being pulled down and sat upon by three lovely women.

“ You neya love how my dearest barmaid is,” Garrick said getting up and walking over to me with his usual charismatic smile.

“ She is all cleaned up and resting. I will go and check on her a bit, but for now, shall let her rest.” As I spoke Garrick's smile grew wider and he hummed with amusement.

“ So what did a lowly barmaid do to gain such affections from a witch of high standing.” He asked with eyes full of curiosity and a voice full of playfulness.

“ I just don’t like to see people get hurt for no reason,” I replied, keeping my composure.

“ Oh come on, no one is that kind. How do you know about Kauket?” He pushed.

“ I didn't because the first time I saw her was when she was in trouble and the first time I heard her name came from your mouth,” I replied

“ Well, then I apologize I couldn't personally introduce myself.” I hear the most angelic voice say from behind me. I turned to see the chocolate-skinned girl standing at the edge of the staircase gripping her ribs in pain.

“ You should be laying down darling,” I said even shocking myself at the nickname.

“ I can't, I'm sorry, I have work.” She replied solemnly

“ Ugg shut it girly I’ll cover for your rest,” Garrick spoke before leaving to attend customers.

“ I could properly heal your injuries back at the castle,” I spoke towards Kauket.

“ I will have to decline. I couldn't possibly go to the castle as a slave.” She spoke looking to meet my gaze.

“ You say that you are a slave? By whom and what happens if they were to release you?” I asked causing fro her to look as I startled 

“ The leader of the men who beat me earlier owns me, and if he would ever release me all I own would be taken, he is releasing me not the things he has provided me.”  She replied

“ He owns you but allows you to stay here?” I questioned earning a nod from the girl. 

“ Bain Marcellus, go grab all of the extra gowns, brushes, and undergarments from the castle and bring them back here to Miss Kauket’s room,” I said, shocking both men.

“ Now!” I snapped pulling them from their trance and sending them on their way. 

“ No he was so handsome, why take away my entertainment!” Garrik exclaimed watching Marcellus leave. 

“ Where are you now?” Kauket asked, I didn’t answer, I kept on my way letting my anger slowly seep out as I hunted a certain man. I’m going to get your freedom Kauket.
