“ Freedom”
I stalked down the streets intel I reached an o;d looking tavern, walking inside I saw the leader of the men who had hurt Kauket. Stalking forward I made my presence known.
“ You are the man who owns Kauket.” my voice thundered through the tavern making everyone go silent, as the man turned around his eyes flashed with fear but soon covered with false confidence.
“ Yea and what about it.” He spat at me.
“ You are going to give her freedom,” I spoke, my eyes glowering down at the plump man.
“ And if I don’t” he pushed,
“ I was hoping you would say that” A smirk spread across my face as black fog spread across the room and slithered it into the two men beside the slave owner.
“ They are going to kill your family if you do not sign over her freedom.” My voice came out as demonic as the two men started walking towards the door to find his family.
“ No! No please, I will sign!” He screamed in desperation, the two puppets stopped at the door. I walk closer and hand him the papers. He hastily grabs a pen and signs all the paper. But when he handed me back the papers he made the mistake of giving me the pen as well. Feeling it in my hand I look at him to see tears in his eyes,
“ Now, sweetie, don't cry..” I say pay for a moment before continuing.” Let me help you dry your eyes.” I say taking the pen and driving it through his eye socket as red blood gushes out staining the man's face and my hands. I turn around and walk out of the tavern. The black smoke leaves the men as they collapse to the ground. When I got back I washed my hands clean of blood and noticed the entire cat house was in a happy and extremely rowdy mood.
“ Oh hella no, I’m too gay for that shit!” I hear Garrick laugh as I walk over.
“ What shit?” I ask.
“ Marriage” he giggled walking away. I turned to Bain and Marcellus whose faces were flushed red.
“ What's going on?” I asked
“ Carnelia, I have asked Marcellus to marry me.”
“ And I said yes.” The replied
“ How are you going to get married? I doubt a priest would attend to you given the relationship.” I was quite confused.
“ Well as the Lord's Sorceress, you would have the power to marry us,” Marcellus said.
“ You two want me to marry the two of you?”
“ Yes.” They replied in sinc
“ Ok… When do you want to do this?”
“ A month.”
“ Then in a month you shall be married,” I say turning around and heading up to Kaukets room. When I walked into her room, I saw her in a beautiful gown and jewelry, The ones we brought her. She was trying to put her hair up. I walked up behind her and she stopped what she was doing when she saw me in the mirror.
“ Here let me help you,” I whispered, wrapping the brush and oil from her hands.
“ You always seem to be helping.” She whispered back, my fingers spreading a light layer of oil in her hair before softly brushing it.
“ Is that so bad?” I asked in reply. My hand softly touched the back of her neck causing her to shiver from the touch.
“ No… I like it.” She muttered as her eyes locked with mine through the mirror.
“ Good.” I tied her curly hair back. I went into my pocket and pulled out the paper of her freedom. As she read over tears sprung in her eyes. She got up quickly before pulling me into a tight embrace. I wrapped my arms around her. I didn’t want to let her go. Soon she pulled back, drying my eyes. After a few moments, she spoke.
“ Thank you, for everything.” She said, smiling at me. I felt my heart skip a beat. Why do I feel like this? Why didn’t I want to let her go?
“ It’s quite alright, Now that you are a free woman what do you plan to do?” I asked
“ I’m not sure. For the first time in my life, I had no one to serve, I have rules to follow. No course to set out. I don’t know what I'm going to do next but I do hope that you will be a part of it.” She spoke looking at me.
“ I’d like that.” And with that, she pulled me in for yet another hug I longed for.
