“ Alright, put those clothes over the table on the right and bring the flowers to the upper floor to the left,” I shouted out to the maids as we prepared the room for the men's wedding. “ I want the Carriage and Horses in the back!” I yelled, everything seemed to be according to plan.
“ Lady Cornelia, a letter from the docs have come for you.” The maid said, manding me the letter.
“ What of Ezekiel's condition?” I asked
“ Still the same, no improvement but he’s not worse.” She muttered sadly, It’s been weeks, he should be fine now?
“ Ok, That's all,” I say walking off to the Gardens to find some quiet. Opening the letter I see it is from the docs ship seller.
Dear Lady Cornelia,
The ship you have paid for has been paid for and refurbished to your exact requirements. The supplies of food, oils, herbs, and weapons have all been set aboard and are ready for your departure In a week.
~ Sir Colin.
Yes, everything is in order, I have yet to tell anyone of my departure, though I had planned this from the start. Everything with Ezekiel and the Wedding has caused me to forget. I know Bain won’t leave Marcellus especially after just being Wed so I do not need to tell him, I’ll leave him be. I have the maids taking Care of Ezekiel, so he will be fine as well. But What of Kauket? Maybe if I asked her she would come with me. Though it would be dangerous, I’m seeking out Alren and his crew. What if she gets caught in the crossfire? I don't know if I could live with her getting hurt because of me. But what if she is mad at me for leaving? Could I live with that as well?
“ Cornelia.” I heard someone call my name from behind me.
“ We need to talk now.” I turned to see a serious-looking Garrick. I stood and followed him back to his Cathouse. Everything was empty inside, not a customer or working insight.
“ What's going on Garrick?” I asked
“ Look around Cornelia.” He snapped, I looked around to see every mirror inside has been shattered, Getting closer I see dead spiders laying on the ground under the mirrors, Slowly moving my hand I touch the mirror and felt dark magic radiating off of it.
“ What the fuck?” I muttered.
“ It feels as though it's releasing magic, something darker,” I said looking back at Garrick who was looking at me.
“ Do you have any clue what it means? What's going on?” He asked frantically, I can tell whatever he saw happening here scared him.
“ I’m sorry I don’t know,” I said, causing his anxiety to spike.
“ After the wedding, I will look into this ok? There is nothing to be worried about Garrick.” I said moving closer and putting my hand on his shoulder. Allowing him to calm down just a little bit.
“ Ok Thank you Neya.” He said, I smiled at him and started moving towards the door. “ You are coming to the wedding right?” I say looking over my shoulder.
“ Yes, I will be there.” He smiled and I left walking back to the Castle. I couldn't help but feel as though something horrible was coming. I’m just being paranoid.
There were many people inside the Castel to attend the wedding, everyone was talking among themselves, all with happy and cheerful grins. I look to my left and see Garrick walk in, dressed in a very extravagant suit and hair done beautifully. But he was alone.
“ Where's kauket?” I asked as soon as he reached me.
“ Well hello to you too,” He said sarcastically before answering my question, “ She said she had to make a quick stop before coming here, don’t fret deary.” He said, smirking.
“ Now If you excuse me There is a very handsome man, and I am oh so lonely.” He spoke before grabbing drinks and heading over to the unexpecting fellow. I see a maid calling me over and I hastily walk over to her. Once I reach her she grabs my arm and starts pulling me through the halls
“ Whatever is going on?” I yelled
“ It’s Ezekiel, something is wrong!” She yelled back as we continued running. As we reached the corridor I felt a massive amount of energy.
“ You stay here, It’s not safe inside. “ I told her before stepping in. The same mist I had pulled from Ezekiel had now been covering the hall floor. I see guards' bodies littering the floor. None of their swords had been drawn, but it looked like their lives had been sucked out of them. As I got closer to Ezekiel's room flies swarmed outside and the smell of rot overtook my senses. Slowly opening the door I see Ezekiel standing in the room holding the container of black mist. Centipedes crawl in and out of his ears as maggots leave his mouth and eyes. He’s dead.
“ Ezekiel, I need you to set that down,” I say slowly advancing towards him. He opens his mouth to speak. But it was not his loving voice that came out, instead, it was something much more terrifying.
“ I’m sorry Ezekiel isn’t in right now. But I am hungry.” The creature says with a maniac-like laugh. With fast reflexes, the creature moves towards me trying to stab me with its tallon like hands. Trying to block the block I’m sent through the door and window leaving me to fall to the ground miles below me. My vision was blurred as I tried to get up, Sharp pains spiked into my back and ribs.
“ Cornelia!” A voice yelled, I looked to see Kauket running toward me. She puts my Arm around her shoulder and supports me as we navigate our way there the mass hysteria that was once a happy party. We make it to the main hall to see Ezekiel or what was once Ezekiel walk into the room.
“ Now come on, I just wanted to give my congratulations.” He cackled. He spread apart his arms and more black mist and flies formed around guests sucking them dry of any life. Goddammit, I have to stop him. Spell, spell come on Cornelia think! My eyes drawdown to my right thigh. If I did this I wouldn’t be able to go back, I would be unleashing chaos. Letting go of the leash.
“ Back off ya fucker!” I heard Bain yell, Looking back up I saw Bain had grabbed his sword for the first time in months and charged at the beast. Striking the beast countless times only causes the creature to chuckle. Curling his fist he raised his hand and Struck Bain sending him across the floor.
“ No Bain!” Marcellus yelled, rushing to his lover's side. Ezekiel took a deep breath in and sighed.
“ Well, it looks like my friends have finally arrived.” His face broke into a wide grin as the tall wooden doors burst open and men came rushing in, all dressed in cloaks sealing their identities. Pushing Kauket behind me I bring together energy creating a shield, Looking over only left I see Garrick doing the same, whilst fighting off many others with a whip. Grabbing the dagger from my side I ducked underneath the man I was fighting and dug the blade into his neck leaving him to fall to the ground. Turning around to see a man About to strike Marcellus, Throwing my dagger it had struck the man killing him instantly. Marcellus was able to get the point, struggling to get Bain up he started to walk and get the two of them out of here. Looking at Kauket I see her fighting off two men. Jumping on one I used my fists to beat his face relentlessly intel. I felt him go limp below me. Getting up I feel a cold pain go through my chest. Looking down I see I had been stabbed by a sword. Looking in front of me stood a tall man with a cloak covering his face. He pushed the sword deeper into my ribs causing me to grunt in pain as blood spilled from my mouth.
“ Too cowardly to even show your pathetic face.” I spat at him as he twisted his sword causing me to fall onto my knees. Hearing a cry I look to see Ezekiel holding Marcellus by the neck in the air.
“ Maybe one last snack for my travels.” He growls out. As flies and mist swarm Marcellus.
“ No!” I cried out, my thigh started to burn. I slowly see Marcellus thin as his soul is leaving him. I try to stand only to be pushed back down by the man holding the sword.
“ I said STOP!” I felt thunder bust in the sky and winds crashed into the Castle sending men flying through the air. Lightning crashed into the roof striking men, The ground began to crack and break apart, Vines rose from the ground grabbing onto many men and pulling them apart. Ezekiel dropped Marcellus and looked at, in Horror.
“ You are Chaos, my dear, You stand on the other side of the mirror, you are just like me.” He said in awe.
“ I am nothing like you.” I spat out blood, feeling my power drain.
“ You will see in due time, child, you have only been born to kill.” He smiles to show his sharp and pointed teeth. “ Come now, finish it! Passover'' He started yelling, growing angry, and holding onto his head in pain. Once he stopped he started stroking me with heavy steps, darkness, Nik, Father, heavy steps, monsters.
“ STOP, GETAWAY!” I screamed once more and tree roots and listening devoured the castle as I fell into darkness.
