“And last but not least…..”
Everyone was very curious, when something, like, ANNOYING happened. One second Makenize was standing impatiently, and the next second she was walking down the stage.
“Thank you, announcer dude, but I think that it’s quite oBVIOUS who has won; I mean, lOOK,” she said, pointing at her outfit ( which was the most basic outfit there was; a light-peach colored dress that went down to her knees, white hightops, and a straw-colored floral hat ).
The ( probably ) 10,000 people and hybrids stared at each other, some of them scoffing and others saying “pfffff.”
“I...Uhh...What’s your name, miss?” asked the announcer dude, confused.
“It is I, MAKENZIE DE STAWR!!!” announced Makenize proudly.
“Umm...sorry, Miss Makenize de stawr, but you did not win first place.”
Mackenzie looked, like, sHoCKed. The audience erupted in laughter, while Makenize’s face turned tomato-red.
“WHAT DO YOU MEANNNNNNN?!?!??!?!?!?1!?!?!1” wailed Makenize, stomping on the floor.
The announcer dude had a ‘bruh’ look, and ordered her to be kicked out of the room. Once she was gone, the announcer dude’s frown turned into a smile while he said,
“Well, now that that’s all taken care of, let me announce the REAL winner!”
The audience started cheering and whooping again.
The announcer dude raised his hand and slowly lowered it, motioning for the audience to quiet down. Once they were quiet, the announcer paused, then said,
“Jade K.”
The whole audience cheered and clapped, congratulating Jade as she slowly ( like a sloth ) walked up. Once Jade was at the front of the walkway, she saw Nico wave; so she waved back.
“Congratulations, Jade, for winning 1st place in this year’s modeling show!” the announcer dude said in his microphone.
“U-uhh....t-t-thanks? I-i guess?” stammered Jade, looking at the thousands of pairs of eyeballs looking at her.
“Will you please sign these papers to start your modeling career in Paris?” asked the announcer dude, pointing at the papers.
“PARIS???!!!!1!1!!!1” blurted out Jade.
“Yes, Paris; isn’t it aWESOME?”
“B-b-but I still have school; school is still in session!!!!”
“You will get a free computer to do your online classes on Zoom!” ( yes, Zoom was invented already now shut )
“BUT I WANNA DO IN-PERSON SCHOOL!!!!”
“Well you can’t do that if you want to go to Paris!”
“THEN I WON’T GO TO PARIS! I JOINED THIS...this THING for FUN! Do you get that; for FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! You know what; nope nope nope nope nope nope nope I’m quitting I don’t like this nope nope nope I don’t want this.”
Jade ran to Nico and hugged him.
“Help me Nicooooo help meeeeeeeee,” mumbled Jade.
Nico looked confused; and he had a ‘help me’ face.
The judge thought for a moment, then had one of those cartoon lightbulbs spawn on the top of his head.
“I have an idea, Jade,” announced the Judge quietly.
Jade looked up at him;
“What is it?”
“You can switch locations with Rayna; she can go to Paris, while you go to her spot; Jacksonville!”
Jade thought for a moment.
“Where’s Jacksonv-”
“Oh, it’s a beautiful town square; very nicely lit, very nice indEed.”
Jade blinked, then turned to look at Nico. He nodded his head, so Jade responded.
“I’ll accept this job...I guess..” she added, not excited but not upset.
The judge talked about the job blah blah blah, gave Jade his phone number and contact info, then allowed them to leave. Jade was relieved. As she and Nico walked out the large doors, they spotted Makenzie crossed armed, leaning against the wall waiting for them.
“Hey Makenzie,” Nico said, waving at her.
Mackenzie looked at Nico, scoffed, and turned her head. Nico lowered his arm slowly, wondering why his friend was ignoring him. A fancy car pulled up beside Makenzie, and she got in, said something, then the driver drove her away. Nico stared at her, then mumbled,
“Why did my friend just ditch me?”
Jade rolled her eyes and said,
“It doesn’t matter, she’s just mad; you did nothing wrong don’t worry.”
Nico looked calmer.
“Can I come over to your house for, like, a sleepover or something?” he asked.
“What for?”
“Oh I don’t know, I just feel like it.”
Jade nodded.
“I’ll ask my mom.
